Nah dude is right, as with most artists they dont get nearly as much plays/noteriety until they pass. Ill say Mac was still relatively known due to him being in the game longer than other who didnt get credit like that til they died (peep, pop smoke, STEEZ, Speaker Knockerz, etc) but they didnt really go through his discography like that, only what was the most popular. Faces wasn't even his most popular body of work when he was alive but when he died, overtime that shit sky rocketed. Theres still a lot of songs, mixtapes and albums that people don't know about from mac like that

As soon as he got popular his addictions overtook him. He latched on to a relationship/girl that didn't work out then he spiraled out of control. His music turned to shit along with his whole life. He was a much different, worse person when he died. People who spin his demise into him being a genius were just enabling him.

Also, post transitioning from hip hop to pop isn't a reason to hate him as well. A lot of artists change their style and there have been several artists that have used hip hop as an "in" to expand their appeal (think Drake). It's fair to say that charlemagne isn't universally attacking people that fit that description and is exclusively attacking Post. It's genuine hater behavior considering that post is the nicest guy in the world and hasn't done any harm to hip hop. So i disagree with your assessment

I’m at least glad I got to see him perform live. Was at The Under the Influence tour with Wiz & Kendrick (before Kendrick dropped Good Kid Mad City) He opened up for Wiz & he stole the show that night. He’ll forever be one of the 🐐‘s in my opinion.

I was going to see mac Miller at the aaragon ballroom in Chicago IL. December 28th 2018/19. I forget the year. We lost him a few months before his tour. He helped me with his music through some very dark times in my adolescence. Hearing him go from most dope to WMWTSO revolutionized my mind. Knowing no matter how good life could be there’s still those demons, that everyone’s fighting.
Shit will never be the same. Rest In Peace forever missed man.

Sorry. I’m not gonna pretend like I vibed to his older music. I don’t like backpack/stoner rap. But GO:OD AM, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, Divine Feminine, Swimming, and Circles were great to me. I like him more as an artist than just exclusively rapping.

Miley talked down on hip hop pretty ignorantly after her Bangerz phase and Post Malone said he wasn’t a rapper or hip hop artist but they only do that on other media outlets.
Mac is one of my personal favorites. He evolved with every project and he seemed like such a chill dude and good spirit. I’m still upset that he’s no longer here. RIP, kid.
