    I miss these videos, always a couple of great tips along the way. Guilty on the incorrect jacking points a long long time ago. 😩

    Excellent video mate, so true about buying the already completed and restored vehicle if you do not have the skills, workshop and time. In most cases it will probably save you money and your sanity. Keep up the great work.

    If you want the citric acid to work better, add a fish tank heater to the tank. Doesn’t need to boil, maybe 17 degree C would be enough.👍🏻
    Love your work!

    So much rust and I did think about gas axe bit 😂😂
    I thought the sill was lovely until you got up close 😮😮
    At least you know what you’re up for hey Graham 👍👍

    Ive driven Falcons that were rustier than that plenty of bog obvious on the sills with the air intake plenum rotted away, They were cheap disposable cars that ran well, but Ive also seen inside one that got wrecked for parts and saw what went missing in the sill areas when the termites got busy your XW really isnt too bad but you knew that, Keep the videos coming

    Good tip about buying a finished car if you cannot do the work yourself. I would add that if you go that route, always take the car to a reputable shop that will put it in the air and check it over carefully before you buy it. There are a lot of cars in the USA where I am that have wonderful paint jobs and straight panels, however below the surface is fiberglass and bondo covering rust.

    Great stuff boss. Very involved and time-consuming work.
    I agree, if you really don't have the time or skills to invest in doing something like this, best not to start.

    Very good Graham. I loved the faux crying part. Do you ever try to improve on the original design in terms of future rust avoidance etc - extra drain holies or other things to avoid future rust?

      Problem having space on the camera

  • @AUmarcus
    @AUmarcus ปีที่แล้ว

    Depends on the vehicle....most newer vehicles are meant to be jacked on the sill panel in the right place.

    • @xacoupeguy
      @xacoupeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll actually find the spots on the sills on modern cars are reinforced in only certain spots for jacking up. But this video was for helping people know where to jack up these older falcons

    People would fork out the cash if someone videos their work and does it as good as you do 😂 but there is always that feeling of how much Bog, Cardboard and Chicken wire is under some flashy paint jobs😜

    A bit of topic but do you bend the rear (rare spares) tail panel for a XA-XC coupes to follow the boot line? Have been following your vids of the coupes with interest but you don't mention adjusting the rear panel. Do you just leave it straight?

    • @xacoupeguy
      @xacoupeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive only fully replaced one coupe taillight panel from horrific rust normally I repair the coupe panels cos the rarespares ones are that wrong. Yes they do need some tweeking

  • @paullang1961

    I dont like gluing new panels on when the car is twisted like that sooner the car sitting on four stands not two but hey that's just me all that being said good channel fella cheers

    • @xacoupeguy

      Those braces were installed with the car square and level on its wheels, and then it was jacked up

    I think the rust occurs at the first place where there’s oxygen. It likes oxygen and water.

    • @xacoupeguy
      @xacoupeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I agree but the dirt seems to compact itself to seal up the bottom of the areas really well from moisture and oxygen

    • @WesW3187
      @WesW3187 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xacoupeguy Yes, I think if the dirt is very fine it can do that, but it shifts the problem elsewhere. 🙂.
