For me it was the awful acting with that travesty of a film and the fact that they didn't add shadowed lands into the movie and he lives in you was bumped to a freaking credits song
Everything about the live action remake of The Lion King is infuriating. It does everything the same as original film, but in a less impactful way. All the charm and emotion has been sucked out, The voice acting is so wooden, there's no personality to the characters, Mufasa's death in the remake was laughable, even the song Can You Feel The Love Tonight makes no sense. It doesn't even take place in the night time, it's broad daylight throughout the whole song.
I was born in 1991, so I grew up with this. We watched it in high school in 2008, and it happened to be the 1 year anniversary of my grandmother's death. Mufasa dying hit extra hard, I sat and cried silently. I still cry like a baby to this day. Loved your reaction!
1 of the best disney movies. Good voices, the hyenas were a great supporting antagonist group, and Ed was a absolute riot, the antics of the trio were so good. “It’s not funny, Ed.” and Ed just continuing to laugh regardless always gets me
I absolutely love James Earl Jones voice, and something about his speeches as mufasa in this movie gives me goosebumps. And when talking to scar I can only see Darth Vader.
FINALLY!!!! The Lion King is my favorite Disney Movie as WELL!! It was so beautifully written out!! Long Live the King's and Queen's of The PrideLands!!! 💜💜💜
No matter how many great animated films I watch, The Lion King will always be the best one in my personal opinion! Ever since I saw it at a movie theater back in 1994, it has inspired me to pursue a career in animation. Everything from the story, African musical influence, songs, wonderful cast of characters, and the 2D animation itself, this movie will always be near and dear to me and I will forever be grateful to have become an animator because of it.
Fun Fact: Jerome Irons actually blew his vocals (or something along with his voice) at 19:47 and was unable to finish the song so for the rest of the song at 19:51 Jim Cummings is voicing Scar bit he has such an amazing ranch you can barely tell. Be prepared is also my favorite song from this movie Also you pointed out that Simba and Nala were the only cubs of the pride, but let me point out that Mufasa and Scar are the only Male lions of the pride
Jeremy Irons: " sorry I can't finish the song my throat hurts." Stephanie Beatriz: " might as well finish recording Waiting on a Miracle for Encanto while I wait for my baby to come and in the middle of labor."
The Lion King is an absolute classic from my childhood along with Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast and Disney does know to make a really good movie that makes us cry and laugh and come up with a cast of lovable characters, the songs are some of the best that Disney has ever made and it’s one of the best animated films of all time.
This one is my all time favorite, the soundtrack alone changed my life, Zimmer really outdid himself with this one, it doesn’t come as a surprise he won an Oscar for it. The story has helped me a lot, you’re right it has a lot of valuable lessons.
Here’s some fun facts about The Lion King. Though some of you already know them. -In the early stages of production it was under several different titles; King of Kalahari, King of Beast and most notably King of the Jungle. -Rafiki was originally gonna be a cheetah. -It was originally gonna be a war between lions and baboons. -Johnathon Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement plays Young Simba. -Matthew Broderick who plays Adult Simba, previously played in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. -The Mufasa’s ghost scene wasn’t originally gonna be in the movie but they decided to add it so Simba gets motivated to return to the Pride Lands. - Tim Curry was originally gonna play Scar. -Mufasa was originally gonna have a song called “Mighty King of the Wild”. -James Earl Jones & Madge Sinclair (Sarabi) previously played in the Eddie Murphy movie “Coming to America”.
The sad part about Scar is that he wasn't born evil. He was made that way. It's also kind of heartbreaking to see Mufasa and Scar have such a bitter and hateful relationship with each other.
@@christopherking4932 there are around 3 different accounts on how Scar got his injury. In the book A Tale of Two Brothers, Scar got it from a water buffalo named Boma after trying to make a fool of Mufasa by setting him up against Boma. This action backfired and got Scar instead. This happened because of Scar's jealousy towards Mufasa, whom he believed was the favorite child of their parents. The second account was told in The Lion Guard, which is set in between Lion King 1 and 2. Scar came back during this time and explained to one of his minions on how he got it. it was revealed that when Scar was younger, he met a rogue lion who offered his help in overthrowing Mufasa, but the rogue's cobra companion bit Scar on the eye and poisoned him, which gradually worsened and brought out his darker instincts. Scar killed the rogue lion and his cobra, and was given the nickname "Scar" by Mufasa who was claimed to be apathetic to Scar's plight. The last account was in the remake where it is implied that it was Mufasa who possibly gave Scar his injury after challenging Mufasa in the past and lost, trying to court Sarabi, who ultimately chose Mufasa over Scar. I think in the upcoming prequel, they'll possibly explain this in greater detail. Hope this helped!
@@christopherking4932 It was said that Scars father Ahadi told scar not to go to the outlands but he went anyway and scar was almost killed by the 3 hyenas mother but Ahadi saved him in time and Ahadi was enrage and scratch scar on the eye and throughout scars childhood, Ahadi was mean to scar and nice to Mufasa, and one day Ahadi and scars mother uru got into a fight and Ahadi killed uru then Scar killed Ahadi by throwing him off a mountain and Mufasa caught scar in the act and Mufasa fought scar and banished him from the pridelands
What i love about scar's defeat is that it was his own fault. Like think about it, scar had simba right where he wanted him, all he had to do was just throw simba off of pride rock, but what does he do instead?? He confesses his crime. And because of that, simba got the strength to fight back and forced him to confess it to everyone which leads the lionesses fight back. And what makes it worse for himself is that he tries to make himself the victim by putting the blame on the hyenas, and of course the hyenas eat him alive. All this happened because he was dumb to do one little mistake... confessing the murder to simba. So yea, his plan was going perfectly but he just couldn't resist to gloat and hurt simba's emotions. And you see, that's the biggest reason why most villains lose, they start to gloat their upcoming victory instead of trying to finish off the heroes, which makes the heroes fight back and get the victory 😂
37:52 The scene of Mufasa's ghost was the last part created. They originally had Mufasa dying with no further appearances. But writers felt that Simba really needed to see his father again.
I adore this movie the music is very classic and it's so memorable. Just his father before him Simba is just as strong and wise as his father Mufasa. Thanks so much Cody for reacting to this very incredible movie.

What an incredible movie… ❤ A good lesson is well, “the past can hurt, but you can either run away from it or learn from it” coming from a company where most of the time their movie lessons are follow your dreams or wishes can come true. I recently saw the Broadway show of TLK and it was spectacular! I was in awe of the actors, puppets, music, and special effects. It was a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget!
As a child, I never truly noticed all the themes and messages of this movie. As a kid, I thought Hakuna Matata was the message, but it's not just it. While bad things do happen, and you can't do anything about it, you still need to move forward and upkeep your responsibilities. It's actually about family bonds, friendship and overcoming trauma. It actually makes me appreciate the move even more as an adult.
Lion king is one of the best father-son movies togeter with Finding Nemo, Kung fu panda and How to train your dragon. This amazing cartoon hits much harder as an adult since I lost my father. I hope you will experience these emotions much later in your life. The drawings are so great that even watching dogs were sad and distressed at the grieving scenes.
While this 1994 Disney classic is notable for its Shakespearean tone, I enjoyed it not just for the protagonist, his funny friends, and a charismatic villain. But the music of Hans Zimmer, along with the songs of Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice were incredibly phenomenal in epic proportions!
Here's something interesting about this movie: One of the songs that was added in the musical version, called 'the morning report' was actually added into the special edition of the movie with new animation, during simba's pouncing lesson. I always knew the movie to feature it since it was the first version I saw, so it's always weird to see a version without that song included. I honestly prefer having the song myself.
I'm 31 and I have a special connection with this movie as well. Wow have a home video of my two older brothers dancing around in our living room to the soundtrack of this movie while I toddle around in the background.....there's also a home video of my middle brother pressing random piano keys while singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" before adding his own lyrics

I have a tattoo of Simba on my left bicep since Lion King is my all time favorite movie!! The music, the animation, and the story are just *chef's kiss*💜
The lion king has been my favorite Disney movie for as long as I remember. Every time I went to my aunts house, I turn it on. I’m so proud of my Kenyan heritage even though the lion king is Tanzanian. I also had the figurines when I was a kid. I could go on and on, but I’m glad we both share the affinity of the lion king
Nice reaction, I love The Lion King so much. Timon and Pumbaa are my favorites. My favorite song is “Be Prepared.” You know, Cody, The Lion King 1 1/2, also known as The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata, is a retelling of the first Lion King, but from Timon and Pumbaa’s perspective, because it tells the backstory of how they first met and what they were up to all along while the first half of the movie was focusing on Simba, prior to him meeting Timon and Pumbaa. Timon and Pumbaa were also watching their own movie in the theaters, which I’m sure it’s their twin doppelgängers who look and act the same way as their actual versions that belong inside the movie, and the film also includes an extended version of the song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” which I love that version of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
I love Disney's The Lion King (1994)! It's such a good movie, and it's one of the best animated feature films ever! I wish I could have gotten it on DVD! This movie so good!
I've actually been to the area inspired by the wildebeest stampede. in Kenya it's a region called the Hell's Gate Gorge. I've walked through it. this one the pinnacle of the Disney Renaissance back in the day. the best of that whole decade of those animated films from Disney.
The Lion King is such a phenomenal piece of Disney history for not just being one of its best movies, it’s one of the best movies period. Thanks for sharing this little trip down memory lane Cody.
Doesn't matter if it's your first time or thousandth! Movie always gets you in the feels and has lessons everyone can learn from! I would also suggest seeing the sequel!
The way you we're getting emotional watching this movie... I felt the exact same thing. The Lion King is my confort movie and probably my all-time fav. Great reaction as always. Now waiting for tbbt
Fun call back: Simba did keep his promise of ending the forced marriage tradition, since in Lion King 2 he wasn't forcing his daughter to marry anyone.
okay first thing, childhood movie! Still so epic as it had been when it first was released. I wanted to hug you every time you cried, especially with Mufasa's death. I can't wait for Simba's pride though along with train to busan. Great reaction of a great rewatch, though! Can't wait for the next one!
The reason Simba kept falling for everything was his lack of experience and innocence when it came to Scar; as far as Simba knew he was just his odd-ball uncle, he had no way of knowing of Scar's manipulative habits unless explicitently told, and I guess Mufasa was just hoping that Uncle-hood would've been what changed his brother for the better; as for why Mufasa didn't piece the whole canyon thing together was a mix of that dreadfilled horror of knowing his only child was literally in the middle of a deadly stampede and the fact Simba never told him Scar was the one who told him about the Elephant Graveyard in the first place, as well as the urgency of getting to Simba's aid; Scar's darn lucky his family was so loving
The Lion King is definitely one of if not my all time favorite animated Disney film. What I love so much is how well this film was made. I sort of drifted away but the Lion king will always hold a place in my heart. I remember how excited I was to see the movie in 4th grade. It was incredible. And after seeing all the deleted scenes it was very easy for this film to either bomb or be to horrifying for kids so I’m couldn’t have wanted this film to result in any other way. It is a gold standard perfect film beginning to end and I hope it stays that way.
8:48 "You must never go there!" Yeah, that'll stop the kid from wanting to go there... 10:05 In the German version, the voice actor who voiced Squidward voiced Zazu...
Thank you so much for this rewatch! The Lion King was literally my life; I’m the same age as the film. I got to do make up for the junior stage musical and aspire to be Pumbaa in the Broadway musical. I can’t wait for you to see the sequel. I really hope you’ll consider doing the midquel, The Lion King 1 1/2. #stayterrific 🦁👑💛🧡❤️
One of the best animated movies of all time great music great story great comedy and really good animation and quality special for at that time it came out
Man i love this movie so much. And the sequel is just as good, not as good as this but easily one of the best sequels Disney has done for a highly successful animated disney movie
I'm back to rewatch this reaction. And, as far as Be Prepared goes, one would think that I'm on Scar's side as well. I'm not, but there's no denying it: Be Prepared goes EXTRA HARD every time.
22:58 I don't think enough people realize not only does Mufasa realise that he's about to be murdered-knowing him that's probably the least of his concern-but he's just realised it's all a trap. The fate of the kingdom now relies on a tyrant. His brother finally got what he always wanted. And worst of all? His son is still alive. He knows simba's still alive because he got him onto the perch before he tried to get himself to safety. Mufasa knew scar was going after simba next, and he couldn't save him.
Hey, Cody, glad to see you decided to watch a Disney classic. Sadly, I couldn't sing along due to a current Tonsillectomy operation. But I'll definitely stay tuned for your Beauty and Beast reaction. Great video, dude! 🙂👍🦁👑
The very first time in my life that I watched this movie it was already 6 years old cuz it came out in 1994 if I remember right. So even though I had no clue what they were saying well English words wise just watching the picture alone I had an idea what was going on, and man does it hit somebody that doesn't know English very well, but gets an idea by just pictures alone. I had to say my worst part would have to be the Stampede secen simply because there was so much chaos going on, and then the aftermath. Yet at the same time when Simba return to take his place the Battle of Pride Rock and him versus scar. Man now that was awesome even though it was a bit obviously brutal they still knew how to nail it in the animation department. I think that's probably one of my more favorable parts.
That scene where Mufasa's ghost appears and talks to Simba still sends goosebumps all over my body and shiver up my spine because of how powerful it sounds. I also think back to Pumbaa's farts and I thought to myself. " Pumbaa's butt bombs must be pretty potent if they not only knock down the grass but also kill the flies as well "
This movie, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, ranks first among my favorite childhood movies, excellent video. I would like you to react to the Danish movie Druk: The Last Round, from the year 2020, with the leading role of Mads Mikkelsen, I think that nobody has reacted to it, and I think that is a film that everyone should see ❤️

From the sunrise to the christening of Simba and Nala's cub, this movie is perfection 🦁👑
The Lion King is prob one of my favorite disney movies! So glad you watched the lion king, and I requested this in one of your live vids.
Here's something interesting about this movie:
One of the songs that was added in the musical version, called 'the morning report' was actually added into the special edition of the movie with new animation, during simba's pouncing lesson.
I always knew the movie to feature it since it was the first version I saw, so it's always weird to see a version without that song included. I honestly prefer having the song myself.
I have that on DVD
I'm 31 and I have a special connection with this movie as well. Wow have a home video of my two older brothers dancing around in our living room to the soundtrack of this movie while I toddle around in the background.....there's also a home video of my middle brother pressing random piano keys while singing "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" before adding his own lyrics
Went to see the Broadway show when it visited where I live over the summer. Absolutely fantastic, cannot recommend enough
Yeaaaassssss Cody!!! Finally this was the reaction I have been waiting so long for thank you so much
Here’s what the African words in “Circle of Life” mean and how they’re pronounced.
Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba Sithi uhm ingonyama. Nants ingonyama bagithi baba Sithi uhhmm ingonyama Ingonyama Siyo Nqoba Ingonyama Ingonyama nengw’ enamabala. Here comes a lion, father, Oh yes it’s a lion. Here comes a lion, father, Oh yes it’s a lion. A lion we’re going to conquer, a lion and a leopard come to this open place.
The hyenas are totally hilarious especially their laughs!
Are they ugggly
In Lion King 1 1/2, when Simba told Timon and Pumbaa that he had a bad dream, I’m sure it was either about his father’s death or his evil Uncle Scar.
One of the most upsetting deaths in Disney, but hands down the absolute saddest death is the death of the oldest brother in Brother Bear
Just came back here knowing that James earl jones is gone now 🥹
This movie was my fav as a kid and I still do love it to this day🙏
My childhood classic and also the beginning always gives me Goosebumps
5:17 Mufasa and Sarabi: "(To Simba) I'm so proud of you"
The way you we're getting emotional watching this movie...

Hey! Like Zazu said, it's *Mister* banana beak!! 😂😂😂
okay first thing, childhood movie! Still so epic as it had been when it first was released.
I wanted to hug you every time you cried, especially with Mufasa's death.
I can't wait for Simba's pride though along with train to busan. Great reaction of a great rewatch, though! Can't wait for the next one!
I was literally just thinking about this! Wow, what a coincidence
Fun fact: In the first broadway presentation the actor who played Simba as an adult voiced Denahi in Brother Bear
This movie is a gold mine and popular animation in 1994
That mic looks like mine 👀💪🏽💪🏽 nice ! Gotta quadcast buddy now ! Lol
Nice vid too!
I swear Cody is such an emotional sweetheart when he watches these movies.
It is a gold standard perfect film beginning to end and I hope it stays that way.
what Zazu said about Scar being a rug it later become true in Hercules

"You must never go there!"
Yeah, that'll stop the kid from wanting to go there...
10:05
In the German version, the voice actor who voiced Squidward voiced Zazu...
I love your reaction to this movie. It’s one of the best Disney movies of all time. I really loved seeing you react to it.❤❤❤❤
To this day almost 30 years later still my favourite movie of all time
5:17 Mufasa and Sarabi: "(Individually and nonverbally to Simba) I'm *SO* proud of you"
Thank you so much for this rewatch!
#stayterrific

You know it's getting VERY serious when your father calls you with his back turned, only waiting for you to come to him...
Lion king was my first movie theater movie. And will always be my number one Disney movie
I’d hate to admit it but….
I had a crush on Shenzi as a kid
30:38 Timon's way of describing the great kings of the past
One of the best animated movies of all time great music great story great comedy and really good animation and quality special for at that time it came out
Man i love this movie so much. And the sequel is just as good, not as good as this but easily one of the best sequels Disney has done for a highly successful animated disney movie

Now THAT'S intimidating... 😅😅
I'm back to rewatch this reaction. And, as far as Be Prepared goes, one would think that I'm on Scar's side as well. I'm not, but there's no denying it: Be Prepared goes EXTRA HARD every time.
13:27
One of many scenes one can online survive in the Disneyverse... 😂

I don't think enough people realize not only does Mufasa realise that he's about to be murdered-knowing him that's probably the least of his concern-but he's just realised it's all a trap.
Like I said before, Circle of Life is an ICONIC movie opening.
timon saying “when the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world” has a lot more meaning after you’ve seen the 3rd movie
Lion king will always be one hell of a masterpiece!!!!!! 😎
Def the best animated movie of all time! Love the 2nd one too I remember coming home from school in 4th grade and watching it a thousand times. ❤️
Hey, Cody, glad to see you decided to watch a Disney classic. Sadly, I couldn't sing along due to a current Tonsillectomy operation. But I'll definitely stay tuned for your Beauty and Beast reaction. Great video, dude! 🙂👍🦁👑
Have a fast and safe recovery from the surgery!
@@GracemarieJohnson2763 Thank you. 💙
@@n.abookgirl2457How are you doing a year later? Feeling better?
I really love how the song "Be Prepared" is just Scar insulting the hyenas for 3 1/2 minutes straight while plotting to murder his brother and nephew.
,,He'd make a very handsome throw rug." 😂
My favorite scene in the entire movie was when Banzai gets thrown into the thorns as they chased Simba. I laughed along with Shenzi and Ed!
I would like you to react to the Danish movie Druk: The Last Round, from the year 2020, with the leading role of Mads Mikkelsen, I think that nobody has reacted to it, and I think that is a film that everyone should see ❤️
How did I miss this reaction till now?! My fave Disney movie even after all this time. Your reaction for Mufasas death made me want to reach into the screen and just give ya a hug and tell you it would be okay… haha😂 I am in the UK so saw the west end production when I was 17 and yeah it’s AMAZING! Wouldn’t mind going to see it again to be honest! Great reaction as always! 😊
