    bit off topic, I have experience of steam/condensate outlet to atmosphere, they are to be routed down to drain, otherwise it may lead to hot shower with condensate raining down

    Sir while sizing PSV we consider frictional losses less than 3%.
    But why don’t we consider static losses.
    If PSV is directly installed on the vessel than we can neglect it. But mostly PSV is installed on the Piping.
    So in this case, why don’t we consider static loss??

    Great Job........really helpful. I have one silly question why do we need so many scenarios while designing a PSV? Why can't we only take set pressure as our design criterion along with buildup pressure and stuff?

    Back pressure, suppose there are 4 PSV on a header for 4 different system are connected to the KOD, so the superimposed pressure will consider only due to KOD or we will consider all of the PSV open for back pressure calculation.

    • @PayosAcademy
      @PayosAcademy  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is not required to consider all PSV open scenario because this will only happen in case of fire, and also they should be available in same fire circle. Hence it is not necessary to consider all PSV open scenario.
      Hope this will help you.
      Enjoy learning, All the best.

    Can you explain how to evaluate Relieving temperature at Relieving pressure if relieving pressure is supercritical?

    • @PayosAcademy
      @PayosAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Ravishankar.
      To know these values you must have ASPEN. There you can provide input for fluid and relieving pressure you will get all the properties of fluid at relieving pressure.
      Hope this will help you.

      Very good question Pranali.
      In Aspen Hysis you will set of chemicals with different compositions just select your chemical and provide temperature and pressure. You will get latent heat of vaporization.
      Hope this will help you.

    I have one doubt
    My NPSH for vaccum distillation is coming negative as 0 absolute pressure in distillation and reflux sir please help is negative npsh ok for vaccum

    • @PayosAcademy
      @PayosAcademy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No muneer. Negative NPSH value will not be acceptable for pump operation.
      Not only positive you must maintain acceptable NPSHR for pump.
      For that you can either increase line size or increase the elevation of vessel.
      Hope this will help you.

    • @chaudharymuneer5830
      @chaudharymuneer5830 5 หลายเดือนก่อน
