The engineering involved is mind blowing.
Proud to have been a part of this amazing project, Asim was a great guy to work with. Mum I'm in the video!
Its very impressive!!! I've moved some big drilling rigs that go 30,000 ft 3 subs high.. I would love to have worked on this, I've seen some complex tandem lifts for around 700 tons but never 1,500 tons (I think the said a deck floor weighed ) with 8 cranes.
Kudos brother, what'd you do on this project?
Very cool congratulations on the career.
How much money were you on out there out of curiosity?
I think your lying so you don’t lie it’s very rude to the people who worked on this project
@@montanatony5838 I worked on the pipeline with the Balder. It has a 3,000 and 4,000 tons cranes.
this is one of the coolest youtube series i've ever accidentally come across lol

Yessss I love the oilll I want to drink it mmm
Sameeeeeeee this was very emotional
Watching these Shell series of videos amazes me on how humans achieved this Gigantic dream.

I used to work on a service vessel that worked with this platform, having seen this in person it's a very impressive platform. It's LARGE
What’s hilarious is they did this whole series celebrating it but ultimately the consequences are terrible for the environment Lol
not as big as shell's prelude, the largest floating object ever man by the hand of man.🦘🦘🦘Ausie ausie ausie Oi Oi Oi. ✌✌👌👌👍👍
I love watching these when I’m on break in online school. Keep it up!
It’s so good to feel that after enormous challenges like weather and time efforts to pursue this project is one of the most successfull fruit of unity among people inside an organization called shell! I love it! To see those smart people taking their jobs more seriously than ever! I hope shell could lend out a project at west philippine sea to help out us filipino to get our oils beneath!
People are absolutely brilliant! When we come together anything is possible. Thank you Shell.
Almost everyday i watch this video, being a project management guy this video gives so much happiness the success for this project. Wish to work in a project like this!😍♥️
Everyday ???!!
Can you even type anything else than this line about no future? Lol
A true modern marvel... crazy to think the capabilities of these companies and engineers.
Having worked on several major oil and gas production projects, I know what it takes: congratulations to the project team and contractors.
I was proud to help drill these wells on the Proteus. The team of Drilling contractors and service partners worked flawlessly to bring this project to life. Shell is the fore-leader on bringing responsible development to our resources. They are committed to the environment and pioneering the way to a future when we can be less dependant on fossil fuels. Nice to see Luke get a cameo too. lol..
Wow how much for that planted comment.
How much did they pay you??
This is doing the planet a disservice btw
Shut up
I'm a Chemical Engineering student and videos like these really motivate me to do better. It was a great feeling watching you extract first oil from the sedimentary basin you found there. Thank you Shell for sharing this memory.
However, actual chemical Engg in Oil & Gas industry starts after extraction ie at refineries, and then comes petrochemicals production, most of chem engg I know are working there;)
Thank you so much! My old Volvo is rolling thanks to you! :D
Hats off to everyone involved. New shareholder here, and I’m in awe of the vision, tech, engineering, and mechanical planning that went into this.
Shut up Jeff
Yeah... shut up jeff...

As long as people drive, fly, and ship stuff, we need oil. Maybe eventually we will not use oil, but we are probably 30-40 years away from that, just being honest.
@@xyzzy4567 True but demand will go down and it seems hard for offshore oil platforms to make financial sense in the future

With the current weather disasters around the world, real estate that relies on space development is updated to capture solar and wind energy that is exposed to failures and blackouts caused by weather, insects and birds damaging solar farms and turbine blades. Many example videos, working on amazing oil platforms isolated like home confinement, minimizing space and shelter so as to ensure safety and protection from the weather, it is indeed worthy of TEAMATHON (everyone add more running marathons) to finally achieve this huge dream. Congratulations.
Amazing to see such an engineering masterpiece make it across the world and successfully operational in the end. My dream is to work for Shell, and this video is just one of the reasons why
I'm all for clean energy but man this stuff is amazing to have come up with something that can harvest oil from thousands of feet down in the ocean just wow!
Clean energy is not at all clean. You just don't see the damage because it happens in China and Russia where the media is not allowed to go and report on the ecological disasters unfolding there. Perhaps you should study the massive environmental damage caused by China in producing solar electric panels. There is still no way to recycle those panels either. The mess of disposing old and damaged solar panels is creating an even bigger haz-mat dumping field due to the toxins involved in your 'clean solar'.
Don't get me started on batteries, tens of thousands of pages have been written about how horrible high tech battery manufacturing and disposal is to the planet.

I'd be interested in a reality tv show aboard an oil rig. Like Deadliest Catch but less intense, more machine rooms and fluorescent lit conference rooms with coffee.
Is the oil inside the Land Shell Company is searching for or is gravity holding the oil visible for shell to put in buckets like on a round hollow globes.?

When you work in oil and gas welder kailangan mo pa dumaan sa welding school na provide ng company under go ka muna ng training bago ka mag pipe testing pag pumasa kana qualified kana mag weld depende sa category.

Im working one oil companey witha bapco in bahrian im pipe fittar i love my work😍♥️
If they need to drill to 30'000ft for oil. Then we are seriously running out of new oil discoveries
Nah, there's lots of oil, but lots of it is restricted. Alaska is a prime example.
I think it's been proven that some of larger reserves are in the Gulf Of Mexico. Venezuela has next largest reserves next to Saudi Arabia, and currently their oil operations are in question, perhaps to keep prices high for other reason in the industry. I'll admit this, it's a daunting task now days to recover oil, and let alone worry about prices, they took a picked a prime location to recover oil/gas from, the weather there is decent most of the year as transport to the platform for workers, and from is not a issue so it's strategic location is probably bar none in the world including refinement operations......

Mix also volume mud in slug pit to pump in hole for volume.
Well done shell keep proving the world with the oil that keep’s society going. Don’t listen to these climate clowns
Does anyone think that maybe just maybe that the oil is in the ground for a reason? Is it possible that earthquakes happen more frequently because we're removing the oil from the ground? Wouldn't it be better to just invest all that time energy and money into creating things that don't need oil to the extent that you need to build something like this?.....just asking questions.
Daumn bro dats deep, u shold be a presidint or sometheng I vote for you
Dont say this again, oil wont be replaced even after 10,000s of years. The plane that flies, the ships in the ocean cannot be replaced with solar or wind energy
The platform costs 0.001% of the profits they're going to make..
As he says from inside a home heated by gas, from on a cell phone made with petroleum products, wearing clothes made from petroleum products, should I go on?
@@kylepasta learn to read with understanding and discernment. I don't have a problem with technology, i enjoy it. But the data proves that the more you dig the more you disrupt the ground also known as earthquakes. The burning of fossil fuels also disrupt the eco system. We have enough smarts and Technology to use cleaner forms of energy. But we never use the wisdom to put it into practice. Your comment proves my point.....smh
It is more than fascinating to view all the technology that goes into an oil rig platform for a novice like myself. I now know three people that have worked on them. The third one I love and is at sea in Norway after having completed a year contract in the gulf of Mexico.
