- After a journey of nearly 6000 kms, Prelude FLNG has arrived in Australia where it will produce liquefied natural gas for the next 25 years. But first the project team must moor the largest floating facility ever built.

Still remember my days in SBM Offshore back in 2013 when i did work for this giant, always impressed, best engineering days
The most sophisticated and complex work of engineering and they secure it with a bunch of chains. I do the same with my bike.

Absolutely amazing feat of engineering. The scope of this is mind boggling. But instead of oil drilling, next time can we build space exploration equipment?
Next time? It's not like engineers in various industries choose one day in a month to do stuff like that. It's constantly being researched and developed.

I saw her in the yard in 2013 the week after they floated her out of the drydock. LNG ships always have high freeboard but this thing is an absolute monster, and that was before they installed the topsides! Hope we go to load at prelude soon!
