Interesting spec! Question, is scorch your main damage dealer since you don't have improved fireball? Or is frost bolt your main cast. For example chain casting in AV you know and that sort of stuff.
My mage is now lvl 34. Just got mage armor and swapped from frost to fire to try it out. Yes I know frost is best but just wanted to try it out. All I can say is if rng is with me, i kill things 2x faster then with frost. But dam I am squishy!!
Just a little tip, 2/3 imp blizzard is MUCH better than 1/3 into it since cone of cold is a 65% slow so the 2/3 won't cancel out the COC slow but still slow them by 50%. Also I think burning soul is a useless talent since scorch has such a fast cast and if you're casting fireball or pyroblast and relying on burning soul not to loose cast time on those spells then you're playing a mage wrong. Burning souls talent only works well if you 5/5 imp fireball for shorter cast times, especially on rank 1 fireballs for the dots on rogue.

Yes ignite stacks, if you get 2 crits with a fire spell, you get 2 stacks of ignite. Max 5 stacks. Rank 1 cone of cold is not recommended because it is one of your big damage cooldowns. You dont really use pyro in elemental spec that much, it's mainly used for sheeped targets.

put it out on your bars, its not always about doing max damage, sometimes as you said, you are low on mana and need to kite multiple melees, so rank1 CoC is worth having bound :)
I got a question: is the rank 13 gear far superior than anything you could get in raids as a mage for doing pvp? I agree that mage is the best pvp class but the one thing that makes me sad that the tier sets of the mage are sooo bad for pvp..... So my question is: can I reach the same lvl of godmode pvp with pve gear or will rank 13 mages always be better geared in pvp?

I would take out the 3 points in permafrost and imp blizzard and put them in ice shards because while you are elemental frost damage is still going to be your mainstay so you want your frostbolt and cone of cold crits to be heavy.
I'd like to make an elemental mage in classic but I don't think I have enough time to get good gear (especially rank 13/14 epics). So I understand the reason that you need good gear is for the burst damage and mana management but what would be the minimum gear required for it to work decently? Will deep frost be that much better when I don't have maxed out gear?
To hell with Classic! It won’t be the same (you‘ll need a time machine for that). IMO RetroWoW is the best. It’s been around for 4 years and won’t be going anywhere for long time!

@@Rev-Up Mage is getting stupid strong with gear but it doesn't matter too much in PvP. The spec you play should reflect your proficiency with the class rather than gear. I've been playing Vanilla for 10+ years and a fresh 60 mage with engineering and some gimmick items is all I need to ruin most people's day. As for your question: If you're serious about PvP you need to get the PvP sets because mage T1 and T2 are rubbish (for PvE and PvP). Deep frost is strong because it's very mana efficient, has ridiculous control and substitutes for a lack of hp (barrier, cold snap, barrier shields for at least ~900 dmg, not to mention two well timed blocks). As you get more hp and more crit, the fire part of elemental becomes more and more viable as you get more burst and close to /at BiS gear you will not have to cast but rely on instant spells only, that's the beauty of this spec. *I'd say you're good to go at ~3400hp (without enchants), 12% crit from gear (not factoring in crit from int) and 200 spell.* Again, this is a rough guide line. Mage PvP is best summed up by "how do I not take damage" in any given situation, which is considerably easier as a frost mage. Most classes get to have a large health pool or healing, mages get a toolkit to mess with people and that's why this class has such a high skill ceiling. There's no shame in PvPing as deep frost. Many of the best/ most renowned mages play this spec. Hope my wall of text helps.

You're good to go (by that standart) if you get some dungeon gear, like blackhand's breadth for crit, a decent cloak/belt etc. and some other PvP items, such as the medallion or the ironbark staff (for arathi rep) and so on. So as long as you're not in lvl 55 green eagle gear you can pull it off. My mage back then was r13 and had ~18% crit, 300 spell damage and 4200 hp without any raid gear and could stomp pretty much everybody. Don't stress over items though. Most good mages don't need much gear to be an absolute pain in the arse for the opposing faction.

Sorry but your frost specc ist not good for pure pvp at all. 10% hit won't help u at all in pvp since its capped but not getting hit in frost specc will make u loose fights if u don't have it on ur gear. also not speccing into resistances in arkan shows that ur knowledge lacks as well

With macro you can actually remove the debuff from Skull of Impending Doom from yourself. It shows it like a buff.

Winter's Chill is a pve only talent, frost warding is alright, but that means you have to cast frost ward for it to actually reflect spells.

No, the only frost spell you use for damage is CoC, frostbolt is only rank 1 to slow when neeeded, otherwise scorch is alot better.

For pvp you want Stam>Int>Crit>SP
