    As a tenant advocate I like to watch information from the landlord perspective. I will never help a bad tenants I promise you that. There are many of them... but there are far more abusive greedy landlords. I think you guys are extremely fair and well-informed so thank you

      @@shelleygold4923 i never increased payment even it legally allowed, sometimes do discounts for one month for their vacation out of country or province, tenants stay up to 7-9 years usually, but if they did not pay for couple of months after hard to get money for total 3 month ...

    I had a Landlord who abused his rights and bluffed his way, because I refused to pay extra rent and utilities for his Airbnb business. He refused to put anything in writing to avoid paying taxes. Thankfully, this forced me to learn the law. Learn and respect the rules, from both parties.

    It is so true what you are saying. I was mislead in thinking that they looked after me just as they did for tenant. I was wrong.

    Hi, I am a landlord. Do I need to give notice to enter the yard to clean up, repair laundry room, drop off bags of winter salt into garage and check for and any bags of salts left & remove broken tree branches on top of the garage. All is without notice. Can that be done? I am aware I need to give notice to go into rental unit, everything listed is not in the unit at all.

    would like to get a group together to go against the government for equal rights it should not be hard to get a tenant out for damages or none payment of rent this is an unfair act to the landlord and is against the bill of rights and charter of right and the constitution we need to protest in public and get to be treated fairly

    Hi guys I am 31 years old and recently purchased a duplex in Owensound. I am a first time home owner and landlord and I would like to increase my tenants rent. Are there any options to persue outside of the 1.8% increase?

      you mean, go beyond as per the law? Try harassing and bullying them, make them feel worthless so that they will move out. Bluff to them that you will contact the Police and the Board to have them evicted and hope they take the bait. Then once they're out, you're free to charge what you like. Heck you could even rent all the room for Airbnb.

      Natalie Starr my suggestion is stay with in the law and make sure you get the right information what and when you are aloud to do what. Give a clear described LEASE and take photos of the whole place, every nuts and corner, windows, under the sink, even behind the curtains. Check the inside of the car they arrive in, if dirty and unorganized don’t rent to them but the best is DO NOT RENT IT AT ALL you won’t have to run after your rent.

    what are your thoughts on the Montreal real estate market? what kind of cash flows would you be looking for in multiplex's ? ex 100$ a door ect ? i try to apply the 1% rule here and they dont exist with out buying properties that need heavy rehab.
