- Taylor informs Ridge that Brooke may leave Thorne for the sake of her children. Ridge gets uncomfortable when Taylor admits that she would also put the children above her relationship with him. Sally, Clarke, and C.J. are stunned and repulsed when Kimberly tells them she is in love with Thorne. Brooke comes to a difficult conclusion.

Ohh the hypocrisy, Rick crucifies Thorne over one kiss but forgives Brooke in a second for her and Deacon, not to mention, he himself kissed Kimberly when he was married to Amber
He's always been his mother's son.
And his father's son. Eric forgives Brooke for everything 🙄
Rick is a hypocrite like all Forrester men.
I know I’m just repeating everyone else’s sentiments here, but my *goodness* were Ridge and Taylor gorgeous together. If you watch their scenes from today on mute, they’re even better. 😂.
Sally Spectra, generally portrayed as a flighty, larger than life personality, is once again the most centered, grounded, and common sense woman on this show. Her observations and advice to Kimberly were spot on. When Kimberly and Sally are contrasted, you really see how insane Kimberly is being. It was sad to see.
Contrast the CJ/Sally and Brooke/Rick and Bridget dynamics, and tell me who the better parent is.
Hey, Brooke stans- for the record, Ridge scoffed openly at the idea of Brooke prioritizing her children’s needs over her libido.
The cherry on the icing on the cake of Macy’s posthumous revenge on Thorne was him frantically trying to get Brooke to stay using her own catchphrase, “We have to follow our hearts.” And for once Brooke sees how empty a phrase it is! 😂
I know, it was satisfying to hear Thorne try to use the same lines on Brooke that Brooke successfully used on him to get him to leave Macy - and _faiI._
And this episode does prove that Sally is the greatest mother on the show. She knows what Kimberly wants, and she has every reason to wish for Brooke and Thorne to break up miserably after what they did to Macy, and instead none of that matters to her because her _only_ concern is Kimberly's well-being. Not Kimberly "winning." Not Brooke and Thorne "losing". Just making sure that Kimberly is all right. And Kimberly isn't even her actual daughter but her ex-husband's daughter - and still Sally is more of a mother to her than Brooke is to her own children.

😂 She really had to think about it for a hot minute and only because Taylor incepted "do right by your children" into her mind.
And I'm not sure if this means that the children are important to Brooke, or just that she has come to the conclusion that Thorne is _unimportant._

*Sally and Stephanie's "Sentiment" About Kimberly*
Notice how Kimberly tells both Sally and Stephanie that Macy brought her and Thorne together and then note Sally's response (at 7:58): "That’s a very nice _sentiment_ but it really doesn’t apply to you and Thorne.” That line echoes what Stephanie said in response to Kimberly as well (in episode 3396): “That’s a charming _sentiment_ but a bit naïve." I said yesterday that I don't think Stephanie is fully buying what Kimberly is selling and the repetition of this word (which is condescending toward Kimberly's declaration of a spiritual connection with Thorne) confirms that. Sally is completely against the relationship in a way that Stephanie isn't but they are both similarly skeptical of Thorne's feelings for Kimberly. Stephanie would like for Kimberly to break up Thorne and Brooke but she doesn't really believe Kimberly can do it. That's why in the next episode she keeps doubting Kimberly's predictions and wet-blanketing her hopes. This is very different from how Stephanie would encourage Taylor with Ridge and urge her to fight Brooke. Because Kimberly isn't a complete Good Girl, Stephanie doubts that she can provide the right contrast to wrest Thorne away from Brooke. Of course Kimberly is also a more active character than Taylor (because she's not constrained by the limitations of the Good Girl archetype) so Stephanie doesn't really have to do much with her but that's part of the problem too. As I said yesterday, Kimberly is not an ideal avatar for Stephanie in her battle with Brooke because she's not someone Stephanie can influence and control.

Steph doesn't mind Kimberly (surprising due to her age difference with Thorne and Steph's more conservative nature), but she isn't sold on her.

That is an excellent point! It also connects with the contrast we see here between the two "mother figures" Stephanie and Sally.
Stephanie has concerns about how healthy a Thorne/Kimberly connection would be, but is still open to allowing Kimberly to try her best to break up Thorne and Brooke, because she sees Kimberly as the lesser of two eviIs. She is not exactly using Kimberly because as you say, Kimberly is active enough to play this game on her own, but Stephanie knows that Kimberly's love for Thorne is, as you said, just a "sentiment", and yet she doesn't try to talk sense into Kimberly because that "sentiment" is the only thing standing between Brooke and Thorne.
Sally, on the other hand, is completely against Kimberly's relationship with Thorne _even though_ it would mean karma for Brooke for what she did to Macy, because Sally's primary concern is not revenge, or "winning", but protecting her remaining family from destruction. Because she genuinely loves Kimberly, she _doesn't_ want Kimberly to win. Sally is actually hoping for Thorne and Brooke to stay together because she sees this as the best way of keeping them away from other people they might destroy. She basically thinks they are so unhealthy they need to be quarantined together.
So what we see here is actually Stephanie and Sally wanting the same thing - protecting their children - but that means they have _opposite_ desired outcomes. Stephanie wants to keep Brooke away from Thorne, and Sally wants to keep Brooke _with_ Thorne to keep Thorne away from Kimberly.
@@annieo6527 Thanks Annie! And yes exactly, they both have different desired outcomes but similar assessments of the situation. Both Sally and Stephanie question the depth of Kimberly and Thorne's relationship but for Sally that means, "Kimberly will be hurt. She should stay away from Thorne" and for Stephanie that means, "Kimberly might not be enough to break up Thorne and Brooke."
@@NewYorkNick0607 This dynamic between Sally and Stephanie elaborates the differences of the Forrester Family versus the Spectra family. The Spectra clan existed as a contrast to the Forresters; Sally may be a "con artist" business woman, but her dedication to her family and children means she puts them first as well as their well-being. Sally allows her children to live their own lives and supports them for who they are and the mistakes they may make.
Stephanie, on the other hand, does the complete opposite. She controls and manipulates these situations to favor her own perception of reality--especially when it comes to Brooke who's the catalyst of Stephanie's ideal image. Brooke is not someone Stephanie can keep under control which is why they are fire and ice. In regard to Kimberly, the best way to explain is exactly how you put it! Kimberly is not an avatar for Stephanie how Macy and Taylor are.
This is why I actually enjoyed B&B from 2003-2006 when the Bridget/Nick/Brooke/Ridge fiasco was a thing because of how Stephanie was bounced back & forth supporting Brooke and Nick.
Tridge is still the most beautiful couple on there, even if Ridge doesn’t deserve Taylor❤😌

Kimberly is really taking over this storyline, next to Taylor I think she’s the most beautiful.
Seeing scenes with Ridge and Taylor as a couple and a family is why I never bought the whole rewrite to make it appear as though he loved only Brooke or he loved her more.
