I absolutely love the dialogue in this game. One moment a character will say something filled with existential dread and then the person they’re talking to will just go “Ok.” and that’s the conversation. So silly, love it
One of my favorite things to do with tiderunner is strafe, since all your extra movements fire shots. Then when you've built up enough dodge, you can bounce around and blast the enemy ship to smithereens
A cute thing about fracture detection is that while I believe the fracture can spawn anywhere, if it overrides a pre-existing condition (weak, brittle, armoured, etc.), then the pre-existing condition will not be present, hence certain enemies may have their invisible brittle point readily located due to a normally occurring condition being noticeably absent (like in the rogue starnacle or cobalt fights in this run).
There’s so many interesting ways you could have taken this run, and I think that’s what is so cool about this game to me. While you built the run you wanted and were successful, I got to unlock the idea of a shield-penetrating run that uses Hot Compress to reset its overheat stacks. You’ll always be one hull down, but you’ll never truly take hull damage from overheating if you force the overheat with Hot Compress. As many Sears, Explosive Shots and Hot Compresses as possible pls lol. Maybe some corrosion. I my only complaint is that it seems harder than average to get a build together simply due to a decreased number of fights compared to something like Slay the Spire and a lack of any shop system to buy specific cards. Maybe it’s balanced around that, but I’d like to see a special once-per-act space that is universal across all paths (the same way the artifact spaces are) where you can choose 1 from like… 5? 10? 20? cards. Make it “Books’ Books” and maybe it’s an unlockable reward you get from winning a few runs and having Books show up for the first time.
Nice win! Always happy to see more Cobalt Core from you! The more I've played with the Tiderunner on Hardest the more I've come to appreciate it. It's an extremely evasive (although brittle) ship, and pretty much any crew can work well with it's bonus. Probably has the highest winrate for me aside from the Ares.
Havent unlocked this ship yet but i feel like it would be pretty sweet with drones/midrow stuff, allowing you to place and move to place another really easily
The Rogue Starnacle (at around 31:45 ) didn't have a second brittle point. If you look at the start of the fight, its point that is usually armored/brittle (depending on if it's closed or open) has neither status. The hidden brittle overwrote the status on the 'ship' part, so no status showed up there, but since there is usually a status there, it becomes clear that that is indeed the hidden brittle. I've seen it happen on the Cobalt where the center point is the hidden brittle, and it doesn't show up as weak at the start of the fight, which is what led me to discover this.
Off the top of my head, I don’t remember if you’ve done a run using Riggs, Peri, and Books yet (I’ll double check and edit this comment if you have). I recently had an amazingly fun run with that team in the Jupiter. I was expecting the best synergies to be with Riggs and Books, like in your recent run, AND I was expecting to regret not taking Isaac BUT Peri was by far the MVP! The Jupiter drones combined with Peri’s great attacks, Riggs’ deck manipulation, and Books’ versatility was REALLY fun. (I eventually died against the Cobalt, but that was only because I suck at games like this. Hehe. The deck was extremely strong, I just made too many stupid plays)
Tiderunner either lets you juke every single hit in the game or it kills you instantly, there is no in between.
Very skill-based ship, but if you try to calculate every single step with it a single run is gonna take like 4 hours

Tiderunner with strafe and 'Riggs' seems cracked and absolutely insane at the same time.
Riggs has a card that fires each time yoh move. It seems like it'd be so good on the tuderunner
I tried it (strafe) with a couple of upraded stun charge too. Easy win.
Drake! The ship is made of wood, you’re gonna burn it down!
This series brings me so much joy

do you have to hold this crystal while explaining this?
yeah!
i love the humor of this game just as much as the gameplay :D

I love this game's combination of intricate gameplay and funny storytelling. I really appreciate you taking the time to show off both!

"all cards exhaust" + "all exhaust cards cost 0" + "add worm to your hand" = infinite shields, idk if thats actually useful but its funny
I caved and picked it up, your consistency at hardest difficulty wow!!

_slaps the stern of the Tiderunner_ : This bad boy sometimes has an anchor...
I love that the tide runner just became a better jupiter after the ship shuffle
Damn, chess is more insane than I thought

i think an exhaust deck would make hi freq intercom less harmful? like taking static noise, admin deploy A, to cut out the chaff while in a battle
I'd be sad to see the series go! To many memories!
Would strafe work the way I hope it would with this ship?
I can only imagine, yeah
It does work the way you imagine yeah
and it's aburdly broken yes
[Meowdy!]
is always a something in my mind.
Reto’s shuffled ship is essentially a better version of the Jupiter lol
More tiderunner runs!
Btw on the octopus thing fight I think the weak spot landed on its weak spot
The card that gets a deleted card back specifically does not allow you to get cards with its name. So no recursion there.
Love that ship, it's so whacky~
Did a double take on,why does the brotato video thumbnail look so different 😂
How long till he realizes its blocker burnout😊
Oh I knew, I just preferred my way lol
@@Retromationfair enough
Series hype ❤
Why did the max health change after you chose the ship in the beginning??? Weh???
Hardest
"Hardest" difficulty reduces max hull
We got like a week's worth of content before it's done 🥺
Huh? Not necessarily.
@@Retromation I meant for like the main storyline, cause it's a rouge like it's meant to be replay able 😅
Would be sad to see the serise go
Day 6
