    Nice work. Mine still has 2” OME, with the driveline spaced, and it still has that vibration on takeoff.

      How thick is the spacer mate? The Dobinsons centre bearing spacer kit comes with 4 spacer plates and 2 different lengths of bolts. Most cars you get away with just using 2 spacers (1 on each bolt) but I recently just did a crusade where I ended up using 2 spacers per side.
      The cars are all built the same but I guess some just like to be different 😂

    Looks great 👍. Just had a pedders lift to my 2008 prado, 40mm at the front and 50mm at the rear, feels and handles great cheers.

      I’ve always been happy with the Pedders kids. I have fitted so many of them to customers cars and they’ve always been a good thing

    Hi mate, is there any issue with your wheels scrubbing the mud guard? On your ep9.thanks

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate. Very very slight rub at full lock if I’m going over a decent bump. So basically it hardly ever rubbed. It was rubbing on the inner guard liner. I overcame this by heating up the plastic guard liner with a heat gun and reshaping it slightly.

    How many spacers did you use when u installed the dobinsons drive line spacer kit? Trying to dial mine in. So many mixed answers, no one can say exactly mm used.

      Yeah mate it is confusing…. No one could tell me either. I’ve just used one spacer on each bolt, and obviously the spacer goes between the bearing and the floor. I did that and it seemed pretty good. Never tried it with 2 spacers on each bolt

    Did you put in a diff drop?

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Negative mate. I have never fitted one to any customers hilux or fortuner from doing a 2” lift. Likely necessary for higher lifts, but not needed for 2”

    hey mate - which specific suspension kit (part #s if you have them) from Pedders did you install? Mine is 22 model Fortuner GXL.

      Hi matey. It’s just their 2” lift stuff. If you call Pedders in Dandenong, vic, and ask for Lance or Dave. Tell them you’re after a 2” lift with easy fit struts and they will be able to send you a quote. Make sure you ask for the Tailshaft centre bearing spacer also.

    Did the brake upgrade make much difference? I thought the brakes felt pretty good.

    hey mate, just wondering how the pedders springs and shocks ride on the back with no weight. Cheers!

      Really well man. Noticeably more comfortable than stock. This was one of the main reasons I chose Pedders. Have fitted most of the brands out their to customers vehicles and some lifts make the ride feel even more harsh and rigid. Always been a fan of pedders, they are very under rated

      .@@cassarindustries_wheelwerkHey Dez. I rang pedders dandy and got the part numbers which I'll put on this post as well. Quick question. I'm doing this mostly for comfort and will get the suspension with the standard ride height. How much more comfortable would you say the ride is unladen 10, 20, 30%? Thank you.

      @aramalexander7023 good on ya mate. You won’t regret it.
      I’d say all in all around 20-25% more comfortable over stock after the lift kit was installed

    Does the Gross Vehicle Weight or Gross Vehicle Mass have any effect (increase or decrease) with the suspension upgrade and lift kit? Also does the Kerb Weight increase after the suspension upgrade?

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GVM is not affected at all by doing a lift, as long as the lift is not great than around 2”. A 2” suspension is the most you can go before the vehicle would need to be engineered. Overall weight may increases slightly, as the new components are slightly heavier, however at a guess I’d say this would be less than 10kg.

    What made you choose the Pedders kit ?

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Been using pedders suspension kits in customers vehicles for over 15 years. Have always been impressed with their quality, as well has how the vehicle drives after. This goes for both lifted and and lowered vehicles. Have fitted several others brands of suspension in the past, and personally I have found pedders to be one of the better ones

    Great vid & thnx for sharing.
    How are you finding the ride now with the suspension lift?
    Also can I assume you ordered your kit through Pedders or a local suspension dealer. Reason I ask is I enquired at the Pedders stand at the recent Melb Caravan/Camping show about lift kit for my 2021 GXL and the answer came back from Pedders that they don’t do a lift kit for our model. I thought the answer didn’t sound right and be great if you could point me in the direction where I can ask again.

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ride is noticeably more comfortable with the new suspension in it mate. Yes I just ordered it from my local Pedders branch. They are definitely available and I have fitted several of these kids to customers cars. Have fitted A few brands of lift kits to these vehicles and I found the Pedders one of the best which is why I chose it

    Is a 12 offset legal as i can see the sidewall tyre sticking out a bit? Last thing i want is a defect or open up a loop hole for insurance not to accept my claim should an accident happen. Lastly, would an upsize in tyre just like yours using the standard wheel and standard suspension rub on the plastic trims or mud flaps? Thank you.

    • @cassarindustries_wheelwerk
      @cassarindustries_wheelwerk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On my set up if you look straight down from the top edge of the guard flare the tire is still sitting within the wheel arch but only just.
      As for running that tire on the original rim, I know I’d 2 others that have done it with no running issues. One has standard hight and the other is lifted

    • @richardwalsh5570
      @richardwalsh5570 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a pos 7 rim. These cars come from factory with a pos 30 offset. Legaly you can widen the track 50mm total.

      I think retail would be around the 2k mark. But to be sure I’d contact pedders suspension for an exact quote
