It's really beautiful to see how gentle they are with the little ones. She was holding the babies hand so carefully and knew not to pull the arm to hard. Absolutely gorgeous animals. She holds them exactly how I held my twin boys when they were little. One in one arm and one in the other. Wishing all of them a happy healthy long beautiful life going forward!!!❤❤❤❤
Simply amazing! What a beautiful and purely joyful sight! These babies are surely adored by all, and as cute as little buttons! Thanks for making me smile today😇

@@AlineRo86 No she doesn't babysit. She is raising both of them, her son Jim and her grandson Joe. Joe's mother Sprout had no idea what to do when she had him. So her mother Jazz took him
Yes! That was wonderful. One large step on the way. They wil both know who is who. Sprout had twenty-eight days to 'acquaint' herself initially with Jim. Jazz seems very content to let Sprout 'meet and greet'. She appears to be quite in control of the whole situation and should be trusted to move at the pace she desires to set. Ha, ha! Grandmas like you had your chance and baby would be dead without me so its my baby now but you can watch and learn for next time.. So sweet that Grandma picked up her grandchild and said to herself what's one more to hold when I'm already playing the role of a full time mom. Amazing that the keepers have enough confidence in her raising both that they didn't feel the need to intervene.. Mothers eventually choose one baby in the wild but many noteworthy differences in childrearing have emerged in captivity.. For example the turnaround time for mothers having a second or third baby is sped up by decades because of the safe and well nourished environment moms can have a toddler and an infant at the same time when wild mothers keep a single child with them for up to a decade.

So is that grandma holding the bundles of joy? They are so cute and I’m sure they are a handful. I’ve never seen many videos about orangutans and how they interact with their young. The videos I’ve seen on YT is scary the way certain types of monkeys raise their kids only because we see what is happening and involve feelings unfortunately and it’s hard to put that aside and take it for what it’s worth. This interaction was beautiful and I hope they live long healthy happy lives. Thank you for sharing❤️❤️
These two have quite the story, as they aren't twins. Orangutan Mother Jazz (30) from the Dudley Zoo became super mum as she's not just looking after her own baby boy Jim (born 25th of June 2022), now she's looking after her daughter's newborn baby Joe (born 23rd July 2022) as well, as her daughter found first-time motherhood a little bit challenging. When her daughter Sprout gave birth she walked away and left the baby on the floor. Mother Jazz picked the baby up straight away. Jazz is nursing both and giving both love, care and attention. Th8s is an important first step. I'm guessing that at this point, Sprout can no longer nurse her baby. But it's good to have them come together until the babies can walk. It's definitely a start in the right direction. It will still take some time for Sprout to be more comfortable with her boy and the whole situation, but I've got confidence that she will get there in the end. Jazz is a trooper, I still haven't seen her put either baby down, she really could do with the break.

Your welcome.
It's crazy how human they act. It's really hard to see them as being "wild animals" even though they are. Nature is amazing!
Well, we are related, after all. And we're wild in our own way. We only coined the term "domesticated" to mean tame or easy-going.
Perhaps that's because they aren't wild. They are very civilised primates. More so than many homosapians.
