Formula 1 has much to learn about broadcasting from IndyCar. This is perfect solution for those of us, who can't watch races live on TV (or record them to watch earlier for that matter) or just want to re-live the thrills. I guess, I'll start following this series more closely.

Although I'm an F1 fan through and through it would be silly to say it can't learn anything from Indy. Let's all learn from each others disciplines and make motorsport better for everyone! Full races online would be amazing for F1 for a start!
NASCAR also uploads full races. If F1, WEC, ISMA, NASCAR, and Indycar could all upload highlights, full races, and drivers messing around the world would be a better place.
Still sad my favourite Helio Castroneves failed to win his fourth Indy 500 by such a little margin. But of all the other drivers, I am glad Takuma Sato won the race!

But you can also get full races - not illicit uploads, genuine from the promoters - DTM, Blancpain, IMSA both weathertech and continental tire... A lot of racing series could learn from this. Would love to see WEC and F1 join in. Perhaps with Liberty Media buying F1 there's a chance..... they sure are changing the game in the way the fans interact with F1

I came here after Helio won his 4th Indy 500 now imagine if he won it here and then he won his 5th today Oh my god he would have been immortalized big time
Now THAT was a great race, after the fuel-milage disappointment of 2016!!! What a great finish, and the win goes to a really deserving driver! Helio was soooo close, but just didn't have the horsepower to put him back in front.
Those RED lights that the cars have on the back of them, are those there just just so that the other drivers can lets say see the car or are they actually there for another reason?
Okay so I know he didn't win and I was okay that he didn't, but how funny would it have been with all the F1 fans watching because of Fernando Alonso if the winner had been Max Chilton? He spent his two years in F1 as everyone referring to him as a joke, and he came so close to winning the Indy 500. That would have shut them up
Imagine how embarrassing it would’ve been for every single IndyCar driver if a Formula 1 driver who has never raced oval and in Indy came and beat them at the 500. I was rooting for Alonso a little bit during this race 3:30:54 that’s respect from the crowd right there

You guys upload the whole race!?!? That's crazy, they would never do that in F1! You guys are great!
You can always expect the full race upload about 3-4 days after the race to the channel.
No point uploading a F1 race, those are painfully dull. Even the highlights are a yawn fest,

They wouldn't be so dull if they actually showed us the few overtakes that do occur in F1

Fun fact: ABC is only a 720p channel, so there's no detail advantage to setting this video to 1080p.
It's possible to upscale video. It won't be as crisp as native 1080p though. Either that or it was recorded in 1080p but only broadcast in 720p.
You can see that it's not upscaled nor was the original source 1080p as the 720p detail looks exactly the same as 1080p.
1080p still has a higher bitrate so it should look better

Toby Howard, in F1 they do and have always broadcasted live every race, dunno about youtube uploading. BTW, was raised in Europe with residence in Madrid, Spain and my Freshman year in college I happened to attend Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, my 1st legal adult living experience in my country of birth and citizenship, did for obvious reasons and personal driving enthusiasm attend the INDY 500 training 2 weeks before the actual 1983 race, AS PER MY PRESENT LIFE SITUATION & JOB REALLY, SAD TO SEE SO MUCH GLAMOUR & RESPECT GIVEN TO A SPANISH DRIVER e.g. FERNANDO ALONSO and EUROPEAN "CONTINENT" AS A WHOLE, IT HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME FOR ME AS AN AMERICAN WHO HAS DRIVEN ACROSS EUROPE MANY TIMES & WEARING THE CLOTH OF OUR NATION, EXCEPT FOR MOST EUROPEAN POLICE REPRESENTATIVES TO THE ONLY EXCEPTION OF SPANISH SECURITY OR POLICE FORCES, WHERE I CURRENTLY LIVE AT. I WILL PREFER, AND DO SO, REMEMBER AND HONOR THE TIMES OF MARIO ANDRETTI, Sr., BOTH AN F1 WORLD CHAMP & INDY 500 RACER...………….
Incredible. Hats off to the uncluttered screen. Visually astonishing.
If that roar of the crowd at 3:48:15 doesn't stir you, are you really a fan?
Fernando Alanso's car is my favorite color and hee is my favorite raxer
Gonna miss this a lot this year
Thanks for posting!
Scott Dixon, got airborne, crashed upside down, Half his car is gone, told us it was a "rough ride".
FOM would never do this. They are too scared to upload the whole race, let alone streamed it online...
even if they want to, TH-cam won't let them
why not?
FOM decides not TH-cam.
What do you mean? FOM sells TV rights for a big price, they can't put it on youtube, broadcasters wouldn't allow.
Toxy In Soviet Russia, TH-cam blocks FOM
I came here after Helio won his 4th Indy 500 now imagine if he won it here and then he won his 5th today Oh my god he would have been immortalized big time
I think he will still.
3:20:03 ORIOL CASTRONEVES
Now THAT was a great race, after the fuel-milage disappointment of 2016!!! What a great finish, and the win goes to a really deserving driver! Helio was soooo close, but just didn't have the horsepower to put him back in front.
Genius Scott was so insanely lucky! And that is great. He walked on the absolute thin line between life and instant death.
3:50:00 Final Laps of The Race
If we were still in the old Dallara IR-05s, Jay and Scott would probably not have made it out of that accident.
3:30:06 RIP
Count Fisco I saw that and my stomach lurched.
Poor Alonso can't catch a break. Hope his daily driver isn't a Honda lol
I hate Alonso, who made fun of Japanese technology
@@AzureViking have u watched this during covid19 in 2020??
Indy prerace show is so much more entertaining than NBCSports' coverage of Monaco. :/
Those RED lights that the cars have on the back of them, are those there just just so that the other drivers can lets say see the car or are they actually there for another reason?
アメリカのレースは明るくてオープンでいぃね~
EUの F1とはかなり雰囲気が違う
Okay so I know he didn't win and I was okay that he didn't, but how funny would it have been with all the F1 fans watching because of Fernando Alonso if the winner had been Max Chilton? He spent his two years in F1 as everyone referring to him as a joke, and he came so close to winning the Indy 500. That would have shut them up
Imagine how embarrassing it would’ve been for every single IndyCar driver if a Formula 1 driver who has never raced oval and in Indy came and beat them at the 500. I was rooting for Alonso a little bit during this race
3:30:54 that’s respect from the crowd right there
Alonso is the overral best race driver. The car is just not as great.
I was here. it was amazing
mkekzk Just like the second lady said you cant explain the excitement when you are there. I agree.
Appreciate the Dire Straits reference at 1:35:50 🤣👍🏻🏁
In 2020 Takuma Sato won the 104th Indianapolis 500
I was there, it was awesome until the red-hats around me started yelling a bunch of racists drivel after he won.
Nice Indy 👍! Hello Brasil 🇧🇷👍.
That was great seeing Helio come second !!!!
