Sadly at the time Spot shot this review I put the stand together the wrong way, the neck is supposed to face the other way, but its been fixed AND I the BANG flag can be removed from the gun just in case you guys were wondering :)
I can guarantee nickelson has this figurine. When the film first came out, anyone that came to visit him at his home , he would put the film on for to showcase his performance. He was so proud of his look and his work on that film and he was fantastic
I sure am...oooh got alot planned don't want to give anything away but there's a build a figure line I have lined up...blast I might have already given it away
Finally…after studying your review so articulately and after hunting I can now also enjoy this masterpiece. As always thanks for the video…the old ones are bangers!
Hey spot great review!! Jack Nicholson's joker was fantastic but growing up with ledger I like him more but I'm like you there is something iconic about nicholson's :)
Overall, a wonderful figure, but I wish he came with his beret, two more head sculpts, one skin colored, and one sorta messy (from the end of the museum scene) and I also wish he came with his joy Buzzer. (That he used to fry that gangster in the meeting scene) but is this too much to ask for? And if it is, let me know in the reply box
Good points. No it's not too much to ask, certainly not from the premium DX range, and for such an iconic actor/character. For a DX, while the accessories are decent, the package really is let down by the lack of the extras you've mentioned. It's one of the best DX figures, but one of the weakest DX sets - I barely used any of the additional accessories. Even if Hot Toys reissue this piece, I don't see them being any more generous, or imaginative, with the extras.
I have this. Jack Nicholson Rocks. Batman... Batman... Can somebody tell me what kind of a world we live in, where a man dressed up as a *bat* gets all of my press? This town needs an enema!
Love it and loved it at the moment when i saw the figure for the first time. If i had the money i would buy this figure and the Batman too. The 1989 movie is still one of the best comic movie
I also have this figure, he is one of my best figures in my collection. Looks really great and very realistic. Also the head sculpt is very very good!!
after seeing the review I think that I was wrong not sweet super totally epic!!!! that was probably my favorite scene at the end when joker was lying there dead and doing that creepy repetitive laugh "he he he he he"
When you made this video I was in 3rd grade. Just take that in. (Also I just ordered the DXO8 as shown in this wonderful review and also the Mime version of the Joker.)
This has to be one of my favourite pieces in my collection. I got him next to other iconic characters from my childhood in Premium format form. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Jessica Rabbit from Who framed Rodger Rabbit and the Evil Queen from Snow White. Plus next to a recent 12 inch figure of Madoka Kaname from one of my favourite animes of all time. An anime called Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Tim Burton explained in his Batman DVD commentary, "The thing is, with the Joker, not that he's like Freddy Kruger or Jason from the Friday the 13th, with the Joker there's always a way." In 2001 Jack Nicholson told E! Online columnist Anderson Jones about bringing his Joker back, "Baby, I’ve promoted it endless times. I’ve got the title. I wrote the scene. I know how to bring him back to life. Their [Warner Brothers] hung up on: I died in the first picture. Are they kidding?" www.cbr.com/331631-2/?CBR-TW&Social-Distribution&CBR-TW&view=list Batman '89 script writer Sam Hamm explained in the Comics Interview Batman Super Special (1989), "People who have either seen the screenplay or heard about it get very concerned because we seem to be killing off one of the major characters [the Joker], but as I point out, they did that to Dracula and the Wolfman in every installment of the series and it didn't bother their consciences too much to bring them back." Jeff: "Which is the exact same in the comics, by the way." I'm furious." www.mtv.com/news/1573617/jack-nicholson-furious-over-heath-ledger-playing-the-joker-in-dark-knight/
Hey Spot Kapitän Here, listen I just watched All your 1989 Batman Reviews but I can find the Batmobile one.... I've got my Batman & Joker 1989 boxed still missing only the Batmobile.... Hope to get it this year....
Heh, that's what I was thinking. I also wouldn't have minded an extra face that was battle damaged or something, for the finale of the film. That's just nitpicking though. Incredible figure :)
As an owner of both I would say that the DX08 has a far superior likeness, both in terms of the portrait and the physical proportions. The DX11 has much better extras - second sculpt, diorama - and a lot more. The DX11 is still a fine figure with a great expression, but the likeness to Ledger is 6/10, whereas i would give the DX08 likeness a 9/10.
How is that weird? This isn't The Dark Knight Joker. This is the Batman 89 Joker. This Joker was based on the one from the comics, while Joker from Dark Knight is Nolan's own take. If the Heath Ledger Joker is the only version of the character that you are familiar with, then that's just sad. You might want to culture yourself a little more, Sally.
1. I'll call you whatever I want. 2. Write better! You're statement wasn't very clear. 3. If you don't know that then, wow. Just wow. Once again, go culture yourself by actually watching Batman 89, and maybe reading some Batman comics.
Sure am, sorry for the delay in getting that up guys
Sadly at the time Spot shot this review I put the stand together the wrong way, the neck is supposed to face the other way, but its been fixed AND I the BANG flag can be removed from the gun just in case you guys were wondering :)
They need to make cesar romero joker
Arkham Origins instead
Kennywnorth Ken North I agree don’t really need Romero
State of mind to display with the Adam west Batman and Burt ward robin a Romero joker would be nice.
Am I the only one that liked Jacks Joker more than Ledgers?
Pennywise68* ledgers was trash
ledgers wasn't trash
No
not one bit
Ledgers was ok but Jack was the joker. Have you danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
I can guarantee nickelson has this figurine. When the film first came out, anyone that came to visit him at his home , he would put the film on for to showcase his performance. He was so proud of his look and his work on that film and he was fantastic
I have a full love and respect to you and your videos, Review Spot!!!!!!!!!

This guy needs to do a throwback of this figure
It's nice to see how Spot's Hot Toys collection keeps growing!
They are being shipped to me as we speak :)

Picked up mine from Big Bad Toy Store
Love it and loved it at the moment when i saw the figure for the first time.
If i had the money i would buy this figure and the Batman too.
The 1989 movie is still one of the best comic movie
I have watched that movie I was incredibly in prest though it is a old film back in the old 1989
Star Wars Episode 4 was first made in 1979 yet is great quality. Never mention age.
Kennywnorth Ken North it was released in 1977
I also have this figure, he is one of my best figures in my collection. Looks really great and very realistic. Also the head sculpt is very very good!!

The Michael Keaton Batman figures is also one of the bests collectible figure ever made :O
"and they are destined to battle forever" or at least until Batman drops his ass off a cathedral to his death!

I have this and the 89 batman. Mime Joker is on preorder and I'm also intrigued as to whether they will do the Art Museum Joker.

Your not alone jack nicolsons joker was my favorite joker
It would’ve been cool if it came with stuff to make him into regular Jack Napier, but it would probably skyrocket the prices
Heh, that's what I was thinking. I also wouldn't have minded an extra face that was battle damaged or something, for the finale of the film. That's just nitpicking though. Incredible figure :)
if he's the prince i dont think i wanna meet the king
to bad they didn't give us some glass from that sceen at the end " you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses now would ya"
