    Such a great comparison, very detailed, Mikael. You know I love a bit of slow motion too! Great quality footage my friend, and a big thumbs up as usual! :-)

      Yeah, exactely. From a far it's hard to tell them apart, except for the spare wheel/wing. Thanks for watching, bro!

    😃Nice overview, That HBX 12891looks like the same chassis as that mcgruff pick up truck I showed on my channel.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Steve. Yeah, I remember I commented on that. The 12891 has the HBX Survivor chassis too, and it looks like the McGruff also has it. Haiboxing/HBX does cars for a lot of different brands. Like Redcat who just changes the HBX name, model name and the box so I suspect GPToys also got their chassis from HBX.

    Very nice comparison! Loved the slow motion. I think we will start seeing more RCs running of those 18650 cells too.

    Very good comparison video Mikael!! Very nice layout on both trucks just not a fan of screws holding on the wheels. Way more of a chance of getting stripped out then the normal nut attachment. Just taking a guess but you filmed this earlier in the year..Looks like it was late summer?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much, Chris! Yeah, I’m not a fan of the wheel mounting on the Dune Thunder either. Generally, the Thruster has better details, like metal drive shafts, 2-speed transmission and most importantly metal wheel axles with standard 4mm nuts. And yes, found this footage from the summer. Somehow I had almost forgotten about it, but thought I would do something with it now ☺️ It was a nice summer.

    Great comparison mate. I don't like how the wheels mount on the 12891, I also had one of the rear drive shafts break on it too. I personally find the 12889 to be superior to the 12891.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks, Michael. Yeah, mine worked okay but I didn't run it too hard, and I really suspect it's a weak spot in the long run. What I most fear is the youngsters getting this one and stripping out the plastic wheel mount with that screw in no time when changing wheels and not back-threading. I personally also find the 12889 much more to my liking, with the standard 4mm wheel nuts, metal drive axles and wheel axles etc. And surprisingly the 2-speed trans worked fine for me. Never had a problem with it and the best thing is that they did the two different speeds very different (approx. 15 kph vs 25 kph). It really has a lot of torque with that low gear, even with the 390 motor. And if one wants the same speed as the 12891 it's just switching it on the transmitter. Great feature for such a low budget model.

      @@NordicRC hm, I guess the 12889 thruster is better then 12891, cuz 12889 have 2 speed tranmission, soft suspension, In my opinion 12889 better

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha, yeah, that was fun. I try to keep it to a minimum, these funny effects, but once in a while it is fun to throw in :-) I just switched to Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 lately. Quite cheap. Some good things. Some not so good. What are you using, Derek? and thanks, Derek!

    • @hollyhillrc
      @hollyhillrc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am using Wondershare Filmora. I also have Adobe Premiere 2015, but found it a bit complicated and don't use it. I will have to try it again and see if I can figure it out. : )

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohh, never heard about that Wondershare Filmora. Well, if it works then continue. I haven't tried the Adobe Premiere. The Elements 2018 version is a low-budget-version. Some things irritate me a little about it. It's really bad at handling files with more than 60 fps (for slow motion etc.). The old free Windows Movie Maker from 2011 did it better than the Elements 2018 :-) I might change in the future again. But right now all my spare money goes into cars and the actual hobby itself (love making videos but I do not love spending other than time on it, definitely not money).

For you which is the car with the best electronics of the same range (I mean esc and servos) I know they are cheap and you cannot expect much from these cars, I think what matters is having fun! Which one will have such durable and cheap electronics? without many improvements? hbx12891 vs wl toys 12428 vs jjrc q39 vs feiyue fy03?

    VERY GOOD JOB, THANKS A LOT. I HAVE BOUGHT THE 12891 BUT AFTER A WEEK THE ESC RECEIVER L3020 RED LIGHT BLINKS AND THE CAR IS NOT MOVING. DO YOU KNOW IF THERE IS A BINDING PROCEDURE...OR I NEED A NEW CAR? :-(

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Duccio. I'm afraid I had no trouble with mine, so I have no idea how to troubleshoot any problems. It's a real shame with yours. if there is no binding procedure in the manual, I wouldn't know what to do either. Maybe the ESC gave up. The problem with these is that the ESC and radio are in one unit. And the five wire servo. Makes it hard just to get a new ESC or a new receiver or servo. Try continue looking around a little on the net, to see if you stumble upon someone who experienced the same.

      @boysmiths 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NordicRC - Ok ... I'm going to buy a new ESC and if it does not solve the problem I buy another ESC and Receiver separate ... I think the problem must be of this integrated ESC and Receiver! And when I accelerate the car or I give back at high speed the ESC turns off!

    Great comparison and bashing. I like both trucks. for me one has an IFS and the other one has a solid axle at the rear. :)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Charlie! I had to google IFS (Independent Front Suspension?) - never heard that term before, but it's a handy short word :-) They behave extremely different although power/speed/acceleration is much the same with that same 390 motor and approcx the same weight. But yes, I like them both, although I think the Thruster, to the price, is a better bargain with the 2-speed trans and everything.
