As a sailor, I have to say you reacted perfectly. Only one additional thing if it happens again (hope to god it doesnt), while at your cabin, throw on some warm clothes like a coat and a warm hat ;)
They tell you the tips that you recommended in the TVs in every room before the muster drill begins. I guess she just didn’t turn on the TV. Edit: which is okay because the cruise line never tells you to watch it
I love how calm and professional the staff was. I want to work on a cruise ship as a chef one day, but I know when this happens, you are just a member of the staff and need to assist passengers.
I love how you kept your cool enough not to freak out your kids. My heart was in my throat the whole time and I already knew it was a false alarm! Once, in port, I was standing on my balcony while the ship across from us had a drill. Only I didn't know it was a drill at first so I'm hearing the alarm sounding and wondering why the staff was just standing around like nothing was wrong. Eventually I figured it out but I'm starting to think I'd be real $#!%%y in an emergency.
If Disney is anything like RCI, young kids got special wrist bands at the start of the cruise and will be escorted with staff to the muster station. Much like your pets in a fire, it's safer not to go looking for them (at least according to what they say at Muster) Though I can't imagine being a parent and just hoping that my kid shows up in an emergency.
@@Ineeee No in the muster drill dedicated cast members will escort your children to your muster station where they will be reunited with you. I've been on a Disney cruise, with a false alarm, but we were told this in the muster drill (I was on the Fantasy).
i just watched a video that was a different view of this exact incident. From a fellow Disney Cruiser, thank you for stay calm and not crowding around screaming and panicking very visibly. I get it it’s very scary and frightening. But if this happened to me, I would appreciate it if I saw you calm and keeping you kids calm. Thank you.
I'm a little OCD and loud noises scare me my dream is to go on a cruise one day but with alarms I always have a little panic attack once at school when I new a fire alarm was going to go off that day I would run out of the school This was in Elementary school I even crawled under desks to keep the teacher from trying to keep me inside this was when I was in Elementary school they would always let me know unless it was false or real my trigger was my grandpa passing on a day after my birthday in September 20 2005 my first birthday was 1999. So I can't really help it and not even my parents can control me so sorry if I ever cause panic if I ever go on a Disney cruise because that was the most embarrassing time at school I ever had .
All I know is if I was walking around the ship and I heard that alarm go off without warning, I'd probaby shout "OH (censored)" and start running to my stateroom as fast as I could.
Haha I’m laughing 😂 at the candy from the coffee shop. I think it was scarier for you guys when the alarm when off because you had to go to your room. I think everyone in the Walt theater was in shock so no one moved lol 😂
I’ve been on a Disney cruise and don’t worry when the alarm goes off it’s normally a test or a practice round to see how fast you can leave the boat and they keep your kids safe and they will probably put them in a lifeboat and you too✨🥺
Well done on how you handled the situation, no messing around grabbed those life jackets get them on and head to the muster station if only all passengers acted this way!
