      More to clean up, but a better shape in the end. Foam is more flexible than paper so you don't need as many though.

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since the foam is going to be curved by heat. It will stretch a little and form to the shape it would have been if it had the seams. So it’s a win/win.

    Now what I'd like to know is how to make those thigh flaps you always see on Saiyan armor. It seems like like every armor tutorial leaves that part out. That being said, this was actually a more simplistic and efficient way way to make'em, thanks!

    my suggestion, how about adding a white neck guard/ collar, then the shoulder guards from the original saiyan armor, but drooped down ( not jutting upward) so it really covers the biceps, gold armor parts as side skirts and a bit of the gold/ yellow armor for the white gloves and boots...that would improve or give an updated look!

    You need to be more confident in your work, cartoons are nothing to be ashamed of despite social stigma and obviously this particular violent one ended up making you an artist. I make armor and weaponry and your tutorial was pivotal in making my own metal version great. Your tutorial was easy to understand and even without the program, the way you displayed and he measuring system you gave made this a much easier piece.

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes you have to be creative and cut a section off of the part to make it fit you. The pepakura model is just a base. It's not always going to fit you perfectly. Alot of of times the models come from video games with unrealistic proportions. You have to make the modifications to certain areas to make it work. I had to do it here on this armor. I mentioned that in this video too.

    Really appreciate the tutorial! I downloaded the template and have cut out the foam pieces. I am having a LOT of trouble gluing the pieces together because their edges don't seem to attach properly. I discovered that I have to use a Dremel to create bevels in order to attach them and glue them, but I don't know which side to create the bevels and how exactly to attach them. I havent been able to find an answer online. I would really appreciate it if you, or anyone reading this can provide some pointers. thanks!

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The file came with
      Pepakura tutorials in a video playlist that explained this. Refer to the software when you see an angle and that's simply how you know when and where to cut a bevel to match what you see. 90 degrees angles, you cut 2 bevels. One on each edge you're connecting. For a 45 degree angle, you cut either edge, but only one edge is beveled.

    But when I changed the scale from 16 to 22 which is my size the templates didn't all fit into the panels the right way

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parts aren't going to always fit in the panel. Just print it if it overlaps, just cut them all out and tape the paper templates together and then trace onto foam. That's the solution. Everyone does that and that's how it's done as it's how the program works when the scale makes the templates bigger. Good luck.

    Also couldnt you just trace the templates without fusing the seams? Maybe just scale it down a bit

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But then you'll have to cut and glue those seams when they're on the foam and you'll see the seams a lot when it's painted and it'll look bad. The point is to fuse them to achieve a seamless clean look.

    Is pepakura free? Probably not right

    • @Heroesworkshop
      @Heroesworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no. You can use it free but It won't save any setting changes you make if you scale it up or down from the original file setting. You'll have to leave the software open as you build it and not close it. I bought it in 2009 and I've gotten way more than what I paid out of it for years

    • @CarlosMartinez-vk9su

      So just google pepakura and it should be simple to install?

      I sell the templates on heroesworkshop.com. I don't really want to be an armor factory though. It'll kill my motivation for other projects. I like doing"one offs" now. :)
