This vid answered so many questions about my opioid addiction. I never felt like I received condemnation from God over this problem. And, I'm now almost a decade into spiritual awakening and the fact that I was battling an addiction kept me more humble. Even now it helps to stop the judgement wheel from turning. Thank you brother

I used dip to stop my smoking and ended up using it for 6 years. I am very health conscience and the feeling in my lungs kept me from running hard, so smoking had to go. The dip was o.k. until it started affecting my joints. For me I had to be very uncomfortable till I could let it go.

A person who admitted to having ADHD and some mental illnesses tried to tell me my career choice wouldn't work because It didn't work for them when they were in a similar situation to mine. The person knew nothing about me. It's crazy how people think everyone is exactly like them and have no clue that their assumptions come from them.

I have been sober for 10 years while I was concuring my KARMA but once I concered it and I was at a spiritual level that I could almost remain I needed alcahol to defend all the negative voices I was hearing verbaly and through my head, so dont worry if you are addicted to something, we are all addicted to food, to water, and to air, until we are not. Once you figure out how to live like GOD, without food, water, and oxygen you become GOD. This is an alchemical process that you have to be sure of because once you do it either you live or you die, that is the purpose you have to have to SAVE. And also know when is the time. IT'S COMING.

Addiction to the ego is the root of all addiction. We have identified with that dream avatar to the degree that we believe it’s who we actually are. So much so that our survival instinct becomes so intrinsically entwined that we defend it as if it were our actual lives, even at the cost of other’s or even our own lives. All this despite that the writing is often on the wall even in our expressions. For example: self image - how can the universe of a human being be contained within an image? Such notions are a form of idolatry, yet we rarely notice the obvious.

Last year Ive tried to smoke some weed, just to break from a very 'rigid' beliefs. Like, i thought this is some strong drug, and i never went into that kind of stuff. And for the first few times it was kinda fun, a few times later i understood that I'd better sit alone in silence and meditate, and a few times after that - I started to really appreciate the non-altered mental state. The clarity, purity of the mind that is non-altered by anything... wow, weed if fun, but it dims your light. a lot.

Very well said, all elements can be used constructively, everything expresses the need to evolve and balance out all frequencies.
There are no good or bad addictions when we resonate with the inneself and the experience of life.
I used to smoke weed for 16 years helped me that period of my life, used to trip out with psychedelic recreational substances helped me that period of my life, used to eat meat, used to have sexual relationships, everything helped me to become who I am and learn deeply my purpose.
Humble we accept the blessings, and we keep going on, without prejudice others or judging ourselves fiercely.
Compassion is the key to understand, everything happend for a reason, for us to learn evolve and sculp the presence, the existence.
Thank you for the valuable efforts and knowledge. Oasis in the dessert.

Nothing I threw at myself stopped an awakening, maybe some slowing of things but no amount of alcohol, drugs, smoking, sex, eating, hard partying, fast cars, stress, excitement and lack of sleep actually prevented an awakening (don't like this term).

I love the recognition that regardless of where we are in our development, we are currently expressing the best version of ourselves. Thank you. Beating our selves up for not being at the level we presume we should be at just keeps us down. Funny how it works that way. It’s almost (or actually) as if there is something within us that’s acting against us.

I have come to a similar conclusion as to what you're saying in this video through my own experiences. However, one thing I want to add is that discerning whether something is helping or hurting you can be very difficult. For example, when I used to substances it would often be the case that a substance would start off beneficial but over time it would change to the negative. However, discerning exactly when it crossed this line would be difficult even if I was being honest with myself. When you add in the fact that as you become dependent on a substance your thinking can get clouded it's very easy to miss the fact that it's no longer having a beneficial effect, especially because you've lost the bases for comparison since you know longer know what life would be like without it.

Wanna know what helps addiction guilt?
Knowing EVERYONE is adducted to distraction, and use various things to achieve that.
    We....are...all...addicts.
    Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins
Get your D.O.S E of distraction!!!! Lololol
Addiction is MUCH MUCH bigger than most think.

I'm a week in using those On pouches to stop ciggies. I only use about 5 x 4mg pouches a day. Lungs are feeling better, clothes dont stink, wife is happy. Those little pouches can help. I quit booze a while ago with the help of kratom. I dropped kratom and it wasn't a big deal.

    • @jacoberwin4412

Yeah be careful with kratom brother, I'm a recovering h addict I cannot get away from the kratom. Struggling so hard, I'm glad you could step away. I quit vaping and now I'm in the rogue pouches, better than valing but still hookedto something. Progress over perfection

@jacoberwin4412 this full moon and partial eclipse is a great opportunity to release those habits that don't serve you. I honestly didn't find it too hard to give up Kratom. CIGS were harder. Good luck pal! And congratulations on getting past H! That's a big step.

Alan Watts is always getting attacked for his drinking and smoking. And when asked about it he answered ,My philosophy is not concerned with what should be but what is’ haha Osho got it as well and defended him. I am right now 6 months without weed to which I was addicted. But honestly I am thinking a lot about going back to it.

Excellent talk, thanks, needed that! Ya, apparently it’s not even the nicotine in tobacco that’s addictive but the chemicals they put in the cigarettes, intentionally. Also, it’s coming out that nicotine can help treat covid symptoms. Wild…. Good teaching, thx.

Makes ya wonder why tobacco has been attacked by the government for decades.
I heard about tobacco/covid at the start of the great hoax.
Ever look into the fentanyl/covid connection?

My friend used to say I don't have a drug problem I have a money problem..
This is actually way deep as if we all lived indigenously with access to our local plants and medicines we'd basically be high all day everyday.. and not addicted as such as the problems the west has with drug use is due to the cost and availability.. limited availability and high price leads to behaviour seen as destructive such as theft , etc etc .
With unlimited supply and for free people would just use as and when required.. but the wests restrictions cause the user to be paranoid and in a constant state of desperation in case their supply ends.. remove this and addictive patterns go.
I've lived with the Akha hill tribe people of Asia and there they say when your young you have sex, then when you have kids you go work in the rice field when your kids have kids you smoke opium.. thus Grandmother sits in her chair with her pipe watching over the kids who do all the chores.. no Alzheimer's or care homes or aches and pains just blessed out and dreaming of their past lovers no doubt.
But yes natural medicine I mean not synthesized

Indigenous do not get addicted as people in industrial countries because they grow up and live a natural life feeling cared for without all the stress. Society is what traumatises and makes people sick

Another great video Yash, I appreciate your openness.
So I've been delving into the world of yogic practices, particularly breathwork and chanting AUM, to enhance the 'I am' awareness (acc to sadhguru) and witness states of consciousness. My curiosity deepens - post these practices, what becomes more perceptive to the all-pervading awareness? Is it the mind or consciousness itself? In the context of Kriya Yoga, stimulating 'life energy,' what aspect becomes perceptive to the constant state of awareness in waking, dreaming, and deep sleep? I'd greatly appreciate your insights on this profound journey. Thank you!"

This is very interesting. I have read about neurodivergents. About 20% of the population in naturally more sensitive and neurologically wired differently. These people have a hard time adjusting to today's hectic society. They often self-medicate with alcohol or drugs or if they have sought help from a doctor then they are on anti-anxiety or depression pills. They are just trying to calm down their nervous system and trying to fit in and function. But a lot of people feel guilt and shame. Society is really not too understanding.
