My heart is melting. When I was a kid in the 90's (not even a teen yet), people made fun of me listening to BLUR and didn't understand it at all, and now, more than 15 years later, I SEE them perform my favourite songs at the Brits and Internet was FULL of nice comments about them and sharing memories. And I SEE that they are really appreciated. It's a dream come true. Thank you, all the people who LOVE BLUR since Day 1, like I did, and thank YOU, new and younger BLUR-FANS! :) _YANA_
I was a Blur fan in the 90s when the war was between them and Oasis as to who would win and top the charts and they beat Oasis!! The only Blur fan in my school and proud of it,should have seen my desk and books. Saw them in The Point in Dublin when I must have been 16yrs and the best gig to this day I have ever been to and Im 31yr now!!!! Blur Rule
Me encanta volver a disfrutar semejantes monstruos, encima se llevan bién ?? !! WTF Espero , que compongan y graben varios discos más, y más giras. Los ví en el Luna Park y fué una noche inolvidable... La Rompieron!!!.
absolute masters, i was a teenager when blur first appeared and i have loved them ever since, damon is an absolute musical genius, i absolutely love him x
3:21 - 3:35 thats the game changer there. you don't get that at an Oasis gig. blur are definitely the better musicians, as for popularity......i think the jury will remain out on that one forever.
@MartianDiscoFish Noel and Damon were having drinks backstage and Noel said himself on a chatshow that he has no ill feelings toward him and that it was mostly for publicity's sake. The feud's essentially over, though Liam's never commented on it
i'm Glad all the young kids hated Blur, they were having such a lovely night with all of their favourite pop stars then Blur come along and make a glorious racket to spring some life back into the show. Awesome.
@NiciGina probably cause the show transmission on ITV 1 was shorter and finished with Parklife. I've been there, I know how it feels, and I really appreciate that it's on youtube!
@turricaned I know this isn't the place to discuss Oasis but for me their music got more interesting after the first 3 albums, when Noel wasn't the only songwriter. Great to see Blur back on stage.
Best band ever... Seriously. Whos gan see em hyde park?! Its gonna be fucking AMAZING! Saw em in 09 aswell, probably one of the best events of my life...
@impactglory the oasis/blur so called feud was press driven and was the 90s version of Beatles/Rolling Stones of the 60s. I personally prefer Blur's music to Oasis but like Beatles and Stones equally. It's all in the moment.
the oasis and blur feud was the 90's its over now, and both have made some of the best songs ever. I must admit when they were out at first if iam being honest.. I prefered blurs music. always did,on first listening. oasis music use to give me a fucking headache and i thought the stuff sounded the same and just a friggin loud noise.. but then friends my sister and peer pressure got me into Oasis more. and i started to listen and LOVED prefered them, oasis changed my life, but blurs musics better
@TheMrbollox IMO the only really good Oasis b-sides were Acquiesce and Talk Tonight - everything else is just a variation on the same old same old. Noel practically disowned "Be Here Now", Wonderwall is just the Talk Tonight chords in a different order, D'You Know What I Mean is the Wonderwall chords in the *same* order... But hey, whatever floats your boat. For my money the some of best stuff on Parklife and TGE was the songs that weren't singles.
@TrephineArtist That wasn't really Oasis though, was it? It was Noel and Liam plus a bloke from Heavy Stereo, a bloke from Ride and a session drummer. I don't think any of the latter's songs were singles, and the only reason "Songbird" became one was because Liam wrote it - anyone else and it'd be rejected. Blur were consistently catchy and interesting musically because of the dynamic of the four guys who make up the band, which is why Think Tank was so-so by their standards.
@FilmRanter1993 Are you seriously suggesting that "Digsy's Dinner" and "She's Electric" are up to the other songs on those albums? Sales are not necessarily an indicator of quality - if they were then Boyzone, Westlife, Take That and Steps would be considered the best musicians of the '90s. I skip the odd track on Blur albums, but these days I get bored of Morning Glory after a couple of songs.
I'm actually glad Adele got cut off, so we actually got to hear Blur for longer on the main ITV 1 show before they cut to ITV 2 for the rest of the performance.
@liam1060 Get 'em drunk enough and they'll admit that they knew it was all bollocks even at the time. Allegedly Dave Rowntree found himself sharing a pub urinal with Liam during 1995 and said to him "This is all bollocks, isn't it?", to which Liam replied "Yeah, but it sells f***ing records though, don't it?". :)
@maybemorningglory You what? Even Noel admits that he only had two albums worth of memorable material in him - Blur had five (seven, depending how charitable you're feeling towards Leisure and Think Tank). As I said above though, the "rivalry" was bollocks cooked up by Sony and EMI. Both bands had a degree of greatness in them, but Blur's music was consistently better and more interesting - Oasis were running on empty after Morning Glory and only had attitude left.
@joninwakey oasis had to big mouth everyone and tell everyone they were shit, because in actual fact, they were the ones that were shit. but liam and noel have got mega spirit, and the pair of them were born to do it.. its almost like they blagged their way to the top they were the rockstars that had little talent but didnt care cause they could be gone tommorrow and just went for gold... and that was the spirit and confidence they had.. blur were actually talented musicians..
@gallagherii Oasis wrote better karaoke sing along songs, had a better image, done better interviews , had more to talk about and laugh at. had the greatest lead singer ever in his prime.. but Blur were far better musicians, far more talented and wrote better songs... as a musician, I first learnt oasis songs, but now I friggin hate playing oasis songs they are so shit.. great songs to sing along to, but musically they were shite. ill always be a oasis fan, but i do prefer blurs songs.

Graham Coxon... the sound of a Telecaster played right!! 😍
OMG THEY KILLED IT HERE
So beautiful. Cannot believe ITV1 chose THIS performance to cut.
Blur is terrific! Excellent performance.
The backing singers were amazing
I genuinely don't understand all the oasis vs blur hate. To me, both are as awesome as they come and a huge credits to British rock :)
love's the greatest thing that we have
Tender-the Hey Jude anthem of the 90s
At the moment 500 of us have tenderness and 3 do not...!
Great opening song to one of the best albums ever made. 13-1999 for those of you that do not know.
Radiohead and Blur are the bands who push boundries
Yeah but Radiohead are the only band that believe their own hype. They haven't done anything relevant in years.
@@TheMusicalElitist And Blur has? lol. Radiohead is always changing it up making new albums completely distinct from anything before.

tender is the touch of your head to the shoulder of the one you love too much.... (soz, couldn't help it).
3:21 - 3:35 thats the game changer there. you don't get that at an Oasis gig. blur are definitely the better musicians, as for popularity......i think the jury will remain out on that one forever.
A guitar solo? not only would you get that at every oasis gig, but for more than one song too

The first song at our wedding. EPIC!

Into Blur these gray moody autumn days:
@Rideway haha good one!
After all these years, we're still doing the Oasis vs. Blur thing. Ah well, that's nostalgia for ya.
@FilmRanter1993 Are you seriously suggesting that "Digsy's Dinner" and "She's Electric" are up to the other songs on those albums? I just noticed the Silver Tooth!? Whats up with that!? Even during the making of "Monkey: Journey To The West" documentary he didn't have that.
1:35 defines what Tender really is.

@TheMrbollox
Hey, buddy, how many years have you spent surfing Blur videos on TH-cam for the sole purpose of telling people that you prefer Oasis?
go ahead

Why didn't ITV1 show this and this is a low, tbf they were the best songs they played?
hard to knock either band, hard not to love both blur and oasis
