I got this Soviet Veshmeshok for my birthday after seeing it on Survival Russia. The way you tie the Veshmeshok is amazingly simple and shows Soviet ingenuity. Survival Russia: / moscowprepper
AMAZING!!! Bought one of these and have just had it, without being able to do anything with it, failing many times to copy photos. Like a damm Rubics Cube. Just had a notion to TH-cam “tie Soviet napsack”, and here you were. Thx a million.
I just ordered one of these! I'm just starting to get into the world of surplus military gear and I found a really good deal for one of these and a Soviet canteen that I couldn't pass up
Thanks a lot, now I can survive the collapse of society with my recently acquired Veshmeshok. I have to say, its so simple in its design... and thats what it makes it so beautiful as a bag for me.
I'm getting one for school because my regular backpack that I bought at the store does not fit all the crap that I have to carry and it's a simple durable bag that will probably outlive me because I take care of my stuff
Are there any dangerous chemicals used on these Soviet war surplus rucksacks? I found this tutorial very helpful and am having with my rucksack. I ask this because I have a Soviet war surplus gas mask and cartridge and I know not to use the cartridge as they used asbestos in the cartridges, at least in the model type most prevalent in war surplus.
I already have one of the older variants of the Veshmeshok without the front pouch and side straps, and I have been thinking about getting the newer variant since it has a little more space and the side straps. Should I get the other one or just use the one I currently have?
I just got mine yesterday. Your video allowed me to tie the veshmeshok period. Thank you Sir!
First time I nailed it, second time I really struggled! Without this video I would have been screwed, thanks!
I have three of these since 90's. I used one of them without knowing how to tie it properly. Finally I got it. Thank you so much!

I design and hand make my own military equipment and the simplicity of Soviet gear blows my mind

Thanks man. Taught me how to tie it properly
Got it on my first try thank you for making this awesome video
Before you make the straps into a bow, pull the cord together and wrap it around the top of the bag. Only then do you put the straps over the opening.
I come from r/whatisthisthing.
Interesting. I'd imagine the strap attachment at the top is of practically unrivaled integrity when properly cinched.
Thanks👍👍👍👍
Thank you for the instructions it works perfect.

Why does someone smart enough to use the internet require a video to tie a Prusik knot; one of the most simple knots in existence?
Gatekeeping doesn't make you look like an asshole at all.
Because most of us don't run into what looks like an upside down sack on a regular basis.
Well, this is a larkshead and not a Prussic, so ...
@@KaiTenSatsuma , hah !, yes the upside down bit , like Russian cosmonauts using pencils in space, sorted ....
