I had night terrors as a child. Horrible things. Unlike dreams and nightmares their memory doesn't quickly fade away. I can still remember some that happened forty years ago.
As a child (probably 8-10) I had the same reoccurring dream almost every week. Sometimes once a week sometimes 4 times a week. It was the realist dream I’ve ever experienced in my life and I will never forget the dream or the feeling I had while being trapped in the dream. Always started with a strange man whose face I couldn’t see coming towards my house. I’d hide under my blankets in my bed in the dream only to have a pillow placed over my face and the same man trying to snuff out my lights you know what I mean. I could never see who he was but it was always the same dream over and over and over down to the T. Dressed in all black he’d let out a sinister laugh after removing the pillow just before I was about to suffocate. It was so real I could almost feel my self suffocating and trying to breath, it always ended with we me jumping out of bed in the middle of the night soaked in sweat with my heart ready to jump out my chest.

If you run out of content, I just recently read the diary of Magellan's expedition around the world from Pigafetta. They are no pirates in memory, but surely are under every aspect that defineds as piracy. Fascinating and, like many storys you tell, almost too interesting and unbelievable to be true.
Looking at this video, I often wonder the mental scars that piracy left on those who practiced it, even the ones who retired. A life of constant violence, fast money, and decadence doesn't seem like it'd lead to a happy ending regardless if you're dead or not. Just look at many criminals today. Probably not all that different back then...
how about an ep on this man......Peter Easton (c. 1570 - 1620 or after) was an English privateer and later pirate in the early 17th century. Conflicting accounts exist regarding his early life. By 1602, Easton had become a highly successful privateer, commissioned to protect English interests in Newfoundland. The 'most famous English pirate of the day', his piracies ranged from Ireland and Guinea to Newfoundland.[1][2] He is best known today for his involvement in the early English settlement of Newfoundland, including the settlements at Harbour Grace and Ferryland from 1611 to 1614.
Okay. Give me a second because this brother was the number one d one crash out period nobody has crashed out as hard as him ever, he said.I would fire my gun at god.Even genghis khan didn't have the gall to say some s*** like that
@@GoldandGunpowder Thank you, but they were built as cargo vessels, so their hull lines were different from warships, that means they were comparatively slower. Naval two-deckers or single decked frigates could catch them. So it seems problematic for escape from the Navy, like Caribbean sloops (which could just sail into the shallow waters etc.) I think they had fewer chances to get away from warships..
this was clearly not a problem since I can't remember any instance of red sea men getting cornered and defeated by navy ships compared to plenty of cases of naval corruption or disinterest in engaging them(explained in this video and the others on the red sea men)
I can definitely see someone being involved in sailing and ending up in piracy having a bone to pick with god, whenever you meet someone that had a very unfortunate life they either grow strong and optimistic or brittle and bitter as a general rule.

Why did pirates use East Indiamen (Cassandra for example)? They weren't fast and maneuverable. I don't understand..
suited for the region(large open ocean). like all full-rigged ships they were fast, plus they could carry a lot(cannons, men, provisions, treasure)
