    What are your thoughts on the prospect of a $1000 Lego set, insane or mouth watering?

      So that the price. For first few munths ..then price drop s ...hundred or so. Many make that mistake ..and buy it. Strait away. But. If sale out. .can be easy to find one. In other places s. For same price ..than some one. Trying to sale it for more. 😊 $999 UK. If in Australia $1000 plus lucky USA cheeper.

      @@countrabricksbuildcraze8916 If the set is completely exclusive to Lego then any kind of discount will be unlikely for a long time, unless it doesn't sell of course. The UCS Falcon was exclusive for to Lego for a good while but eventually found its way to other retailers, so likely the Death Star will too

  • @Badgers_9
    @Badgers_9 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

    Insane. I will not be paying £900 for a grey large plastic ball. Can get three to four amazing sets for that.

  • @modelrushfan
    @modelrushfan วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    That is an insane price. Probably be so big no one will have place to display it.

      @ryan24_31 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I bet it's going to be the same size. You're looking at inflation.

    • @chrisstone4648
      @chrisstone4648 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No i think it will take up similar (ish) space as any other UCS/LOTR set. The challenge will be its round shape will make it tricky to display in terms of Height/width/length, whereas an At-at whilst tall and wide, is thin. Similarly a Falcon can be posed at an angle reducing part of the real estate it takes up. I’m definitely up for this but no idea how i’ll afford it as i’m supposed to be getting Home Alone, Gringotts, the Burrow, Rivendell and the Shire next year 😂

    • @TheDyslexicGeak
      @TheDyslexicGeak  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@ryan24_31 That's certainly possible but I think even Lego know that wont sell. For an ultra premium $1k set, this has to be very special

      @@chrisstone4648 Oh 2025 is looking insane with so many expensive sets coming out. On the one hand its exciting but its getting harder each year to keep up. But the thought of spending 1k on one set, phew that's a tough sell

  • @TonyStark-uu9us
    @TonyStark-uu9us วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    You broke this news to me, DG - high five for that! The AT-AT was the first UCS that I let retire without picking up. Mostly as it was a space-hoover, but the price sealed it. I'm excited by this news, but it's not a guaranteed pick up for me. Can't see it being that much of a stimulating build either.

    • @TheDyslexicGeak
      @TheDyslexicGeak  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah I would have passed on the AT-AT if it hadn't gone on sale. The prospect of a 1k Death Star is exciting but Lego really have to make it so spectacular as its a very tough sell at that price. But cannot wait to actually see the thing

      Yeah it will be interesting what they come up with, could possibly be a Vader Lightsaber Hilt

  • @jacobe1942
    @jacobe1942 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

    Will it be a wall mounted unit? with pop out pannels revealing scenes, like 8 inched wide but 48" circle dome? That seems the only way to make this work with huge possibilities for scale detail, and display ability since not many can display a large sphere. and I do not imagine this wont have a skin to it like the other.

    • @TheDyslexicGeak
      @TheDyslexicGeak  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Oh interesting idea. I really don't know what Lego are going to do, I just hope its not a remake of the previous one. Possibly could be a 2-1 set where you choose which Death Star you want to build, hell for a $1k it may be both version in the same box lol

    • @jacobe1942
      @jacobe1942 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TheDyslexicGeak THinking more on it, Would be great to scale well with the recent mini star ships as a wall mounted art piece, but have pop out panels for inside detail with minis, and also a bay with mini tie fighters that swoosh 4 at a time, a mini falcon/ x wing formation that also have points to mount on the surface so the display is dynamic with star ships flying around it., and at the top is a mini star destroyer that is removable, but perched on some clear bricks. that way it can be a really big, really interactive playset, but also beautiful. Some things might be out of scale but that is the only way to do it and make it fun.

    I’m really baffled by this lol. WHO is going to have the space to put this in their house? Without having to buy new furniture? Assuming it’s going to be really big… and WHO would actually even want a huge grey round ball in their house? Haha I’m not a Star Wars fan but I’m trying to look at it objectively and I’m just not really understanding. A £1000 version of Rivendell for example I could see because of all the colours and pretty design… even a £1000 example of barad dur I could see… but this is just a huge grey ball! I’m really interested to see how this one goes down!

    • @TheDyslexicGeak
      @TheDyslexicGeak  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I must admit the only set I thought I would even think about spending 1k on would be a huge Minas Tirith as that would require a large set to do such a spectacular location any justice. 1k for a Death Star, hmmm I cant even picture what that's going to look like, needs to be insanely detailed. As for display space, yeah that's another big headache lol

  • @DaveD_223
    @DaveD_223 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    I am hoping it will be a large playset type scale. Something with tons of minifigs and an interior. We shall see! I am cautiously optimistic but $1000 is crazy!

    • @jacobe1942
      @jacobe1942 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      @TheDyslexicGeak  วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      It certainly is a ballsy move I give Lego that but its a very hard sell. The price creep is getting out of reach for so many people, can only imagine what a Lego set will sell for in 10 years time

    • @chrisstone4648
      @chrisstone4648 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@neilrusling-je6zo How do you know they haven’t ‘read the room’? I suspect they’re very aware of sales figures for UCS star wars, Rivendell, Barad Dur, Gringotts etc, therefore sales must be enough to justify making it in a decent number. Just because 90% of people cant afford it doesnt mean that 10% of people who can produces a tidy profit for Lego 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @foreverfornever1124
      @foreverfornever1124 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      I don't think you're reading the room, my friend. I'm not well off financially myself but I think you're delusional if you think Lego does this for kicks and the Lol's. They know their market far more than any one TH-camr and us in these comment sections. Bricklinks popularity has skyrocketed these last few years hence the huge wave of sets the release everytime. And why can't a set cost $1k? The current Millennium Falcon and AT-AT are both $850 and are some of Legos top sellers. The last death Star was $500 and was more of a play set. This one of rumors are correct will be one of the most epic sets Lego has ever tried to achieve and you bet folks with the money will be lining up to buy it day one and beyond. This is nothing new to me or you.

    This doesn’t surprise me tbh. Not sure how I feel about the price. No way I would spend full price on it but with enough vouchers/discounts etc then maybe depending on what it looks like of course. My bigger concern is that Lego will still cut corners and put stickers in and a handful of figs even at that price point. If they do something like that then it might be enough to turn me off. I would rather have some really good MBS scene sets like endor or ewok village etc tbh

    • @TheDyslexicGeak

      This is certainly a statement set from Lego but no way they can put stickers in a 1k priced set lol that would be a massive mistake. My gut feeling this is going to be something quite special, but will still be a hard sell for £900 or so. But I look forward to seeing what Lego end up doing.
