As someone who isn’t a purist LEGO set collector, a lot of the proportional issues with this build seem easy enough to amend with some extra pieces. However, the stickers are truly tragic. Speed Champions once suffered from a similar issue, however, their printed screen pieces were improved, so why not the same treatment with Star Wars???
Strong agree about the modding. This set just looks like an overpriced somewhat fine base of improvement for more pieces to be used to extend its lenght, width and some replacement touches like the cockpit glass. It sounds terrible because it is, like spending 70$ and then having more pieces every single time to fix it? Nahh, better off on clearance and then try the changes if someone is REALLY motivated for it (which talking about army building... It feels annoying)
Hate to say it but lego has orchestrated this perfectly. Hate the price (they casually add around the equivalent of 5$ in our currency since the only lego store in the country has this sort of chokehold on the lego market here) , not a fan of the general downscale (but can live with it i guess), but have never owned an arc-170. They kinda force our hands here since yes, I could wait for them to release ANOTHER one but God knows how that will look, how high the price will be at that point and when that will happen again. Hard to tell when they will bring this set on sale in my country so its either full price or bust :/
This is something I have been doing far more frequently lately, it's really sad on Lego's part they can't be bothered to go that extra step, that I have to go out and make changes myself.
Can’t include waist capes because kids have to take them off in order to get them to sit, but yet it’s perfectly fine to limit the size when a kid would have to take the pilots out/adjust them to get the astromech to fit. Make it make sense.
I'd say one BIG advantage this newer ARC 170 has over the 2010 version was is that it's not made with the infamous brittle dark red bricks. I recently rebuilt my 2010 one and the dark red hinge pieces that give the nose its triangular shape just absolutely disintegrate on me. So that's one thing I'll give this set a +1 for.
this set needs heavy modifications to make it look decent sadly. The clone pilots are great but the ship ... Idk. Worst things are the atrocious bottom side (like wtf) and of course the stickerec cockpits (a no go) If I buy the set rventually on discount those stickers will stay of. Sadly that makes it look even worse but applying stickers to windshields is torture and always ends up badly.
I'm so glad you addressed the cannons! I don't own any of the older ARC 170 sets but that was the first thing I noticed was how TINY they were! I totally agree that the whole set is "half baked". Perfectly said!
They still use round stickers on round pieces. For example, the D&D set (one of my fav sets this year to my surprise) had a round pub sign with a sticker. I hate them because they are so much harder to get centered. Also, I disagree that this should have been a combo set. The combo sets are awful. Most of the time people only want one of the ships in them but they have to pay extra and get both. The recent Fang Fighter vs Tie Interceptor is a great example. I wanted the tie interceptor, but I had to pay $20-$30 more so they could include a terribly designed extra ship that I didn't want. Leave them separate.
I think I'll wait until I get this on sale. One thing I'll just barely give this set a pass on is that this scene was also seen at the very beginning of the Siege of Mandalore arc in TCW season 7.

I've never owned a lego arc 170 and always wanted to, but I've decided that unless I can find this one on clearance or a really great discount (mostly for the figures), I'm not gonna buy it. It evokes the same feelings as the 2020 (I think?) Tie fighter. Too small and the shaping of the engines, the most prominent feature, just ain't it
So I’ve been working on rebuilding my 2010 ARC. Found it in an old box of legos at my parents place. When the set was announced, I paused my rebuild in hopes that this set would be better. Suffice to say, it’s time to continue my rebuild. I’m cool with smaller, denser sets, but you gotta get the proportions right.
I don't think that the mechanism of the side wings is an upgrade because that instant opening isn't realistic. In the movies it opens kinda slowly it was better without the instant opening in my opinion
Make Lego great again! This should be the new we want a 501st battle pack saying. It’s honestly so disappointing how much Lego has stopped caring and how much they’ve recessed since the golden age

Aside from the scale, it turned out pretty good, but damn, I really wish it was a little bit bigger. Anyways I won't complain much, as Lego has already crushed my expectations much more than this in others sets in the recent past.
The amount of stickers is absurd. If they're gonna raise the prices why can't they at least print a few pieces 😡 they're taxing us anyway they possibly can at this point 😂
Despite other people getting their grimy hands on sets earlier than you, I just wait until your review to see. The other people just seem so non-diligent in their reviews. Thanks for the good content
The old ucs Lego Starwars sets are already over $1000 in value even after retirement but unfortunately afols seem to justify those high prices and those old sets ucs or not again just dont hold up very well .
I have no Arc 170s so I'll end up getting 1 or 2 of them. NOT for full price though. Definitely a bit disappointed with the build being a bit to small though
Part of me feels like it would be really cool to put two of these together and make a moc, extending the wings, cannons, and front and potentially filling in the gaps. Idk just seems like a potentially interesting idea.
$70 Star fighter with 4 mini figures is nice to have again. But for this set $60 would’ve been a nice price and hopefully it’s that price in a few months especially with the sticker element and unfinished bottom section.
Seems like the best option for those who don’t have one is to wait for a sale and buy the pieces for the larger guns from past models. Would look acceptable at that point.
Seeing it built, I actually like it more and think this could be a new MOC project. Buying it for the skeleton and then improving the details, especially the weird chin and the secondary wings, and lengthening the body so the astromech has four studs for itself without having to share them with the pilots. Maybe ordering four extra parts of those rounded ones behind the front cockpit.
2:10 The clone pilots torsos are actually ever so slightly different. If you look at the middle one with blue helmet compared to the others you'll notice that one of the buttons/light/whatever they are is down instead of up like the other two torsos!
I got the 2010 Arc-170 from a buddy because I was worried how disproportionate the 2025 model would be. If I get this new Arc-170 I don’t think I’ll even build it, just use the new pieces to upgrade the old 2010. Has anyone else noticed that Jedi Starfighters are getting bigger as every other ship is getting smaller?
I look forward to getting this set! I actually plan to combine the best of the 2025 and the 2010 ARC. Praise to no longer have to use the old turner for the S-foils!
I think not having a jedi minifigure in this set makes it easier in a sense to buy multiple of them to make a fleet as it means you don't have 5 or so kit fistos or plo koons, and sure there are named clones, they're still clones so identical and other than the helmets there's nothing unique about them so you can easily build an army of clone pilots.
While I do like the size and details of the older ones, I’m looking forward to the stability of this and the new wing mechanism. I’m afraid to touch my OG 170 because it falls apart if you even look at it the wrong way. Stickers are a massive L, however…
There is some minor detail change on the torso of the pilot. On the chest boxes, on the right hand side there are 4 dots (possibly representing lights) the position of the 2nd from the left changes. Nice minifigs btw
As someone who has just started collecting legos, is there an actual formal reason Lego is making these designs so much more compact versus older models? Is it for comoact shelf storage, money, screwing customer, cutting corners?
I couldn’t care less about having a Jedi. It’s a Clone set, with enough Clones to fill the set perfectly. The stickers are unfortunate, but it’s really not that bod of a deal. They’re making a toy for kids to play with here, which it does very well. You have the s-foils, spring loaded shooters for kids to shoot, and plenty of minifig space for kids to use I think it’s pretty hilarious that we’re complaining about accuracy here. It adequately represents the ARC-170 for long time fans, and incorporates play features for kids. Simple as that. I know I will buy it, I don’t think $70 is really that bad tbf At the end of the day you have the right to have an opinion, but I think the MAJORITY for your arguments here are irrelevant
Definitely not, for the price most of the stuff listed should definitely be included for how their prices are basically scams now And what? Accuracy is the whole point given it’s representing something else and once again for the price. Also Lego definitely is not a kids product any more, not majority anyway given how most of the community who actually buy them are older
Im not gonna nitpick over the 332nd clone on the box because it shows that the arc-170 is a clone wars set since every clone wars set that's been out with the new box art has shown a 332nd clone on it for it being set in the clone wars
@MandRproductions yes ROTS is the Tail End of the Clone Wars but every set that's shown up recently with a 332nd clone on the box has to do with the prequels mainly Episode 3 era with the phase two clone armor
I literally was so excited for these sets because I’m a huge ROTS fan but just seeing these awful sets/prices as a casual LEGO collector ,meaning I will only buy the sets I think are worth it not ALL sets, I just can’t buy this set it looks ugly , literally the worst ARC-170 compared to the previous ones
5:54 the size isn't really that big of a problem imo, besides the guns i think the proportions look more accurate to how the ship looks in revenge of the sith. Like it's not perfect but the older ones have way worse proportions in relation to how it actually looks in the movie.
The markings on their chests are slightly different Ryan. The 3 black and 1 red dot section. One has the red dot “down” and the other 2 have the red dots “up”. Assuming the unique one is Odd Ball…can see it @1:54 on the middle pilot. Very subtle
I was considering buying a couple of these even with its small flaws, but the stickers for the canopies is a definite deal breaker for me. I'm an older dude and my hands are not so steady. Besides, Lego makes enough profit to add printed canopies.
Wow midi scales are getting mini figures now?!?!? That’s so dope

I think Lego for sure dropped the ball on this unfortunately. The shrinkflation and Inaccuracies are killing me man.
Dont forget good ol' regular inflation of 10 buckerinos!
Man, I got to become a member so I can watch videos 12 hours early
2:10 The clone pilots torsos are actually ever so slightly different. If you look at the middle one with blue helmet compared to the others you'll notice that one of the buttons/light/whatever they are is down instead of up like the other two torsos!
I got the 2010 Arc-170 from a buddy because I was worried how disproportionate the 2025 model would be. If I get this new Arc-170 I don’t think I’ll even build it, just use the new pieces to upgrade the old 2010. Has anyone else noticed that Jedi Starfighters are getting bigger as every other ship is getting smaller?
11:36 “wtf y’all doing y’all RATIONING round here cmon COOK me up” 😂😂😂
I look forward to getting this set!
Stickers are a massive L, however…
Nailed it on the cannons. It looks much better with the OG cannons swapped in.
Great review actually 10/10 no glaze
With all the cons, I'm just super happy that we have another ARC-170 instead another X-wing or Tie. I'm gonna have some fun time modifying this set.
I love that you say what you think Sir.
I knew Ryan was chill Ike that
I have an MandR review to look forward to when I get home 😁
I couldn’t care less about having a Jedi. It’s a Clone set, with enough Clones to fill the set perfectly.
The stickers are unfortunate, but it’s really not that bod of a deal.
They’re making a toy for kids to play with here, which it does very well. You have the s-foils, spring loaded shooters for kids to shoot, and plenty of minifig space for kids to use
I think it’s pretty hilarious that we’re complaining about accuracy here. It adequately represents the ARC-170 for long time fans, and incorporates play features for kids. Simple as that.
I know I will buy it, I don’t think $70 is really that bad tbf
At the end of the day you have the right to have an opinion, but I think the MAJORITY for your arguments here are irrelevant
I disagree quite a bit. The old sets were also “kids toys” and far more accurate.
Definitely not, for the price most of the stuff listed should definitely be included for how their prices are basically scams now
And what? Accuracy is the whole point given it’s representing something else and once again for the price. Also Lego definitely is not a kids product any more, not majority anyway given how most of the community who actually buy them are older
Best in terms applying stickers, is using tweezers.
My money goes to quality lego. If I wanted a bad set I’d create my own ships.
Im not gonna nitpick over the 332nd clone on the box because it shows that the arc-170 is a clone wars set since every clone wars set that's been out with the new box art has shown a 332nd clone on it for it being set in the clone wars
This is a ROTS set, not TCW! If you don’t care about it, you don’t care about it. It’s not a big deal but just gotta get the facts straight.
@MandRproductions yes ROTS is the Tail End of the Clone Wars but every set that's shown up recently with a 332nd clone on the box has to do with the prequels mainly Episode 3 era with the phase two clone armor
Hey I think the print on the one clone chest piece is actually different. Its the one red dot
It’s not supposed to be it was just a bad print. The box shows them all the same.
I have to admit it, I loved this at first, now I’m unsure 😂😂😂
the only thing that would make the figures better, besides de dual molding, would be the visors being in the helmet instead of being printed
Ryan PLEASE give us a upgrade video for this video like with the newest gunship
The markings on their chests are slightly different Ryan. The 3 black and 1 red dot section. One has the red dot “down” and the other 2 have the red dots “up”. Assuming the unique one is Odd Ball…can see it @1:54 on the middle pilot. Very subtle
It’s just the printer being off. They’re supposed to be identical per the box.
Interesting
@@MandRproductions do you really trust what is shown on the box art??
Evil MandR be like: I love big sticker sheets😈
I was considering buying a couple of these even with its small flaws, but the stickers for the canopies is a definite deal breaker for me. I'm an older dude and my hands are not so steady. Besides, Lego makes enough profit to add printed canopies.
