That Castrol throwback had HUGE significance. It could bring many JGTC/Super GT (in which it was very successful), fans to watch the race, possibly bringing in overseas viewers. It's a videogame legend from Gran Turismo and SEGA Rally. This Castrol swoosh design is one of the most iconic liveries in all of motorsports, from various disciplines. I'd give it a 8 in significance and possibly 9 in nostalgia.
Regarding Brad's Castrol scheme, I think you gotta pump up the significance score because anyone that has every played a Forza, Gran Turismo, and any of the other racing arcade/sim games knows this paint scheme. It's an all time CLASSIC. Even today, if you hop on any online race in one of the big racing sim/ arcade games, you are practically guaranteed to see a Supra running this scheme in your racing lobbies.
The Hendrick cars are The best, The Kelloggs car, Jimmy Johnson throwback, The Dale Earnhardt Jr throwback, and the 2009 Jeff Gordon throwback! Those are some of the best
Hendrick's livery is so tasty. However, my take for best throwback livery has to be Keselowski's Castrol livery. So so good, especially from Gran Turismo/JGTC era
My little brother was actually named after Adrian Fernandez, my dad was an enormous Indycar fan all the way to the day he died, so it really warmed my heart to see that scheme being run this weekend, definitely the most personal to me of any they have ever run and it’ll be cool to see on Sunday
The Xfinity throw backs were so good I’d love to see a video for those! The 42, 43, 44, and 97 especially stuck out to me. But the 00, 4, 15, 18, 29, 31 were all bangers too
I like the Gilliland one best, best looking Darkhorse so far, and looks so much like a late model, I liked the ones who threw back to short track cars like Berry, Briscoe, Preece. Also the Retzlaff one is great, love sneaking in the tobacco schemes.

I think that #71 scheme is something recognizable I seem to remember Dave Marcus running that color combo quite a bit plus another driver from back in the early 70s also ran a #71 with those colors as well but I could be mistaken and I love what Trackhouse did with that #⁹⁹ for Suarez and of course the Hendrick Kellogg throwback is a home run as well

While it's disappointing that it seems more teams have stopped trying for throwback weekend, the ones who do still care are putting out some bangers. McDowell's is the only one you could call a bad throwback this year (Maybe Lajoie's too). And the Xfinity Series seems to nail it every year. We got a great crop this year

Well the Dave Marcis one it the most recognized scheme he ran, and it's Dodge 60's and early 70's time period. But, he ran many paint schemes over the years. I watch far more racing, especially international series, like World Endurance, Super GT and F1, so I see the TOM's Castrol to be an icon and very nostalgic.
I would love it if they added in more Throwbacks to other motorsports. I wouldn't mind seeing more F1, IndyCar, or V8 Supercar Throwback Paint Schemes.

The TOMS Castrol Supra is one of the biggest icons in Motorsport in general. To any fan of that era of SuperGT, this car was the second biggest car to come out of that series behind the Calsonic GTR and it’s right there with the McLaren F1. It was the first Japanese manufactured car to stop the run of dominance the Nissan R32 and R33’s had been on for over a decade going back before the formation of SuperGT(the first to actually topple the GTR being the F1 coming out of nowhere) plus anyone who grew up playing the PS1 Gran Turismo games knows this car very VERY well lol 😂 this is my favorite that anyone has ever done for throwback weekend
RWR National Police Week 2024 inspired Paint Scheme for Justin Haley BlueLivesMatter, and Darlington throwback looking pretty clean for Kaz Grala in the #15. For a small team I think RWR won this weekend for the paint schemes. Those Ford Mustangs look pretty sharp.
I hope next year Kyle Busch runs a particular blue and yellow #8 car. Dale Sr. ran his first Cup race in 1975 driving the #8 for Ed Negre. It would be a cool 50th anniversary celebration
