I’m deciding between this and the tuft and needle. I tend to prefer a medium firm mattress, but sleep primarily on my stomach and maybe 35% of the time on my side. Would this work for me? I’d like to save some money if I could, but if it’s detrimental to side sleeping I may go for the tuft and needle.
Considering this for my wife and i. My wife side sleeper 5”3. 120 lbs. I’m 5”10. Back and side sleeper. 200 lbs. She moves a bit. I’m typically back and sometimes side sleeper. Mostly back. Debating between copper dreamfoam and allswell lux or this one in this video. On a budget! But with sleep being my top priority. Wondering if investing something more better
would you recommend this for someone who has combined scoliosis? i often get really bad back pain in my current mattress which used to be med-firm but it got softer over time. I tend to sleep on my side and back most of the time too. im 5'5 115lbs
BTW - this is a great review! Have narrowed my choice to Allswell and T&N. I am looking at The Allswell. 1. The cutout portion you showed does not show any edge support! Their website says they have edge support on 2 sides (?). Can you please confirm if edge support is available on the sides? 2. I am 5'7" 175-180 lbs. I am 50-50% back and side sleeper. Is the Allswell good for me? 3. How is motion transfer with this bed?
I am mainly aside sleeper, my wife side and back, weighing 240 and 170. Comparing Allswell Supreme, Brentwood Oceano and Winkbed Luxury Firm, all king size. After reading reviews here I am trying to decide if Allswell is the way to go. It is $800 less than Brentwood and $400 less than Winkbed. Both seem a lot higher for reviews that are close. Thanks for your time and guidance.
I'd like a personal recommendation if possible. My husband and I are trying to decide between the Allswell and the Purple 2. I'm 150lbs 5'3 He's 215lbs 5'9 and broad Both stomach sleepers, but we transition sometimes to back sleeping and I end up on my side once in a while. (I don't tend to like that because my arms go numb.) Cooling is super important to him. We sleep in a loft with a low ceiling so we have to crawl across the bed to get off of it. For this reason some bounce would be nice, but we don't want to sacrifice our sleep for it. The best sleep we've ever had was on a Jamison Pillow-Top in a five star Marriott in San Fransisco. Money is an issue, but we have a connection who can get us a lightly used, full sized Purple 2 for $650. Both the Purple 2 and the Allswell seem to address our needs quite well. Is the Purple 2 better though? And is it better enough to merit paying an extra $350? Thanks!
I think the Purple 2 is a little better and sleeps a bit cooler but the price is quite a bit higher. I do really think The Allswell would be supportive enough for you and has some nice bounce though so if the sticker shock is an issue I would go with The Allswell.
Great vid! I’ve been looking into getting an allswell for my first apartment. Right now at home I sleep on a regular purple mattress and I’m wondering if the firmness is comparable to the allswell? I mostly sleep on my side and I like the little bit of sinkiness of the purple but also I’m not very picky. I can sleep almost anywhere. I just wanted to sort of get a point of reference for the firmness. So would you say the allswell is firmer than the purple? And do you think it will soften over time? Thanks!
Hi, I know you posted this a long time ago but I was hoping for a personal recommendation. I'm 5'9 and about 325 mainly a back sleeper but I do move around at night. I'm looking for a bed to last me around 3 years for college. And since it's for college I'm searching for under $500 do you think the Allswell or Allswell luxe would work? If not what would you recommend? I have a 4 inch serta memory foam and pillow top mattress topper that I can put on any full size bed if that makes any difference. Thanks, Robert
Great video and info. I’m a side sleeper for the most part. I was reading that Allswell was produced in another country last year but is now part of Brooklyn bedding, is this true? Do you know if the supplier change softened either of the mattresses? Has the luxe version changed since you reviewed it? If it hasn’t, what do you recommend in the same price range? Would you recommend getting the topper to soften it some for a side sleeper?
Not sure on the supplier change, so can't really speak to how that wuld change the feel. When I tested both the Allswell and the Luxe Hybrid were on the firmer side, so if you're looking for a firm mattress I would get a topper.
would you recommend the allswell luxe hybrid or lucid 12 inch latex for a 265 side sleeper? i have tried the allswell (not luxe) and it feels a bit to firm. any help would be appreciated! thanks!
I’m 175lbs and mostly a back sleeper but also side/stomach. I’m getting back pain from my current sagging mattress and am wondering which Allswell Mattress would work better for me. I’d like to go the cheaper route but will the softer mattress still keep my spine aligned and improve my back pain?
I think the Allswell will provide good support for a back sleeper such as yourself. The Luxe Hybrid is also a good deal and is a bit firmer in my opinion, so it just depends if you want more of a Medium feel from the Allswell or a Firm feel from the Luxe Hybrid.
I think the Allswell is worth a shot in your situation. Be careful with hip and back issues though and if you start having real trouble then don't hesitate to send it back while your trial period is still ongoing.
@@Sleepopolis thank you! I figured I could use a topper if needed.....at least until I break it in a bit. My current mattress is painful. It's a spring that's 6 years old. I was also considering the Nighslee and Dreamfoam's Arctic Dreams. I'll see what sales go on for Love & Sleep and T&N for the Holidays.
Hey there, Im a combo sleeper, not just side. Im basically the same size as you, and was curious if you would recomend this over say a Lucid hybrid?? Ty
what would you recommend if you need it a tad bit softer? i just got this mattress but think it is a bit on the firmer side than expected. i sleep on back and side but seems that it is a bit rough on shoulder and back after first few nights. i've only had it for 2 nights but not sure what can be done
Yea this mattress has pretty strong support from the coils below. I'd maybe check out the Tuft & Needle if I were you (th-cam.com/video/pqmOODOEoVQ/w-d-xo.html) still in the medium firmness zone so should be fine while on your back, but it's all foam so a bit more forgiving on the shoulders.
My girlfriend and I are both under 200lbs and are side and back sleepers. I read that they Allswell uses different gauge coils around the sides for edge protection, which sounds good, but makes me wonder if there's any danger of the mattress rolling you into the middle rather than off the side. Was that a question you can answer? For side sleepers who are pretty used to somewhat firm mattresses, do you recommend this one or the Allswell Luxe? Thanks!
No, I wouldn't worry about getting rolled back into the middle. The edge support is just to make sure it doesn't collapse, not actively push you back to the center. The Luxe is firmer than The Allswell in my opinion and I think side sleepers would be better served with the medium firmness of this mattress.
Hey, I appreciate your reviews. I'm about 6 foot 2 inches and weigh 240. I'm looking for a hybrid mattress because of my build. I'm mostly a side sleeper but sometimes sleep on my back and stomach. I'm worried that this mattress would be too firm for me. Do you have any recommendations for me, do you think this would be worth testing? I'd prefer not to spend much more than $1,000 but I think I'd like something a little softer. Thanks!
I think this could be a nice budget option for what you're looking for. You may also want to take a look at the Dreamcloud: th-cam.com/video/IR4edA1QH38/w-d-xo.html
Hi, I am looking for a new bed for my 90 something mother. She is a back and side sleeper. 5'3 and 110 pounds. She currently has a sealy mattress that has become to soft for her. She is arthritic and wants some type of foam mattress. She doesn't want to spend a lot of money for a new mattress since the one she wants to replace wasn't that old. Would this mattress work for her?
How would you compare this to the Nectar mattress? Would you recommend one over the other? I saw the Allswell is made in USA, but nectar gives you a 365 trial
I think these mattresses are a bit different actually. The Nectar has much thicker layers of memory foam so you'll get more of a feeling of sinking deep into the mattress. The Allswell has coil support for a bit firmer feel and more bounce to it. Both nice mattresses, just depends on sleeping preferences.
I'm 190 lbs and am usually a side sleeper but would like to transition over to a back sleeper for health reasons. I've just ordered this mattress online but I'm a little concerned that the small amount of foam layers on top wouldn't be enough from feeling the pocketed coils underneath. Should I be worried about this?
It's possible, foam is generally used as the cushioning to allow you to sink in a bit before the support layer kicks in. How much foam is there in the comfort layers?
Thanks for the great review! I am on the fence between this mattress and the Brooklyn Aurora. On paper the Aurora looks better but from both of your reviews they look about equal and maybe the Allswell is slightly better (With the exception of the cooling of the Aurora which I am skeptical about. Some say it feels wet which I would not like at all, but I like the cooling idea in general) Is the Aurora really worth $1000 more? I am willing to pay extra if it's better but don't like trowing money away. Thanks again!
To be honest I think they're very different mattresses. I think what people mean by "wet" feeling is the cool to the touch feeling of phase change material which does have a slick feel to it, but I think in that sense probably depends more on the sheets you're using. I think the Aurora definitely sleeps cooler and is a better at isolating motion transfer. I think the Allswell has firmer support and of course has a friendlier price tag. It really depends on home much you value the softer feel and the cooling of the Aurora.
Hi Logan, thanks for that awesome review. I was hoping you could help me out with a recommendation. I am 6’8” and 220 pounds, my fiancé is 5’6 and ~150 pounds. We sleep with two 40 pound English bulldogs, so we’re looking to upgrade to a king (trust me, we need the space). We both tend to fall asleep on our stomachs, but I’m pretty sure we move to our sides and backs in the middle of the night. We watched your review of puffy, and the thought of “sinking” far into the mattress sounds unappealing. What do you think would be a good option for us, and are memory foam mattresses we can try at a local mattress store a decent gauge for how the boxed foam mattresses will feel after they are delivered? Thanks, Nick
My dog also shares the bed with us and the upgrade to King is becoming more and more required by the night. Since you're both mainly stomach sleepers but move around a bit I would say that memory foam is not going to be a great material for you. I think it would let your hips sink in too much and also give you a bit of a stuck feeling. Have you tried one of the new purple mattresses? Specifically the Purple 2? It's got nice support for stomach sleepers and good mobility to change positions. It also sleeps pretty cool which is a nice bonus. They have a map on their site where you can type in your zip code to see where you can try them in store.
I can't speak to the specific medical needs of someone with scoliosis, but I would say this mattress provides solid support with some nice cushiony comfort thanks to the quilted cover.
Walmart has a queen for 270 bucks so bought one yesterday my memory foam mattress is shot & so is my back.I am over 6 ft. and 220 pounds do you think this mattress will hold up 3-4 years for me?...Thanks
