Snowflake is a predominantly Mormon town, with 5 Ward buildings and a fairly new Temple. Thank you for showing the beautiful church on Main St. and kindly mentioning our church.
Hi Cindy, The Mormon community played a big role in settling Arizona. I was just at a place that has a memorial to the Mormon Battalion back in the 1800s. They built much of the road thru southern Arizona to California. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
Hi D, I am going back to Snowflake when the museums are open. I didn't realize there were so many old restored buildings there. Thanks for sharing and we'll see ya on the next one.
2nd video I've watched of yours. Subscribed after the first one, and then I researched the Seabees. I'm into UFO history, so really appreciated you stopping to show the phone booths. On a vacation in 2014, I stayed in Kohl's Ranch after passing through Payson. Driving a rental Chevy Equinox after flying into Las Vegas, I remember the huge descents down from the Mogollon Rim. My girlfriend was not happy with how high the engine was revving on the descents for engine braking. But I did manage to convince her that hearing the engine buzz was better than setting the brakes on fire. In 2018, on a solo road trip, I drove from an AirBNB in Joshua Tree, to an AirBNB in Pinetop-Lakeside. Coincidentally, I stopped to eat and get gas in Quartzsite, before I knew what Quartzsite was. I now have many friends in the nomadic, snowbirding, and RV communities, and try to get out to AZ once or twice per year myself. I do car camping with my Prius Prime.
Good Morning EfficientRVer, Thank you for sharing your stories and the sub. In my opinion, the White Mountains are the most beautiful part of Arizona. Quartzsite in the winter is a wonderful place to be (minus the crowds)😆. I'll be in Quartzsite during the shows so I'll keep an eye out for the Prius Prime. Thanks again for sharing and have a great day!
