But before I got my license when i spent all my time at home except school days I would watch it quite a bit. And Dianne was so pretty then I remember. She actually was 1st runner up in Ms Universe back in 69 I think was the date
They mentioned an earthquake a couple of times. I wonder if they're referring to the North Palm Springs quake of July 8. Three moderate earthquakes hit southern California that month, but that particular tremor seems like it would be the most widely felt. I also wonder if the lovely Kimberly, or her boyfriend, ever bought that Bronco.
THese shows taped on 7/7,7/8, and 7/9. The Showcase winner on I believe the 8/21 primetime episode was from SW PA, and the local paper in the town he lived in did an article on his appearance, a couple weeks of so before it aired, mentioning how much he won and a couple of his prizes.
I remember watching these in the summer of '86 and thinking those transitions were strange. Normally there would be a commercial break in the daytime show, but for these specials they did an awkward edit to move directly to the big wheel. It wasn't even physically possible to do in real time as the previous game happened where the big wheel would need to sit. Weird for sure.

So the color theme for these specials was apparently pewter. The border around the big doors, the border around the home base/turntable, and the curtains behind the audience. I feel like the green one bid displays felt out of place with all the pewter going on.

I stopped and asked if the homeowner would mind me taking them, and she helped me load them into my car! (took 2 trips actually). Now I'm just trying to figure out what do do about the fabric part. I'm shocked to see that all the pre-made canopy sheets are _sheer_ . To me the whole point it so block out light completely like sleeping in a cozy cave! So I'm thinking I may need to make my own.

That vivid red sleeveless low-back dress is so NOT like a typical mid-80's garment. In fact if I didn't know better I would say she was just filmed today! Okay her hairstyle is kinda 80's but not obnoxiously so. She was just a timeless beauty head-to-toe!
