Had the same problem. But I was lucky, went wrong before I put it in park. So drove it as, until MOT. Now I need a new gear nob

please does park or neural relay work with this automatic transmission??…I am using one but i can start in drive or neutral position.

I just checked. Mine can be started in either park or neutral. You should try cleaning the electrical contacts in the gear selector under the cover.

I've never had to do it, but I can't see any reason why it would be difficult.

You might have a broken or disconnected shift cable.
