Thank you for the vid. When you whipped the dishwasher out easily, I realised that the feet were jammed on mine, and needed a spanner to torque the turns on them to lower the unit. Thanks for taking the time to do an in depth video.

Wow, great job, you have installed your dishwasher perfectly and with millimeter precision. It is an irreplaceable appliance, I could no longer do without it. I did the same thing a few days ago with my dishwasher that I recently replaced. An immense effort for the installation operation, as happened to me too, but what a satisfaction !!!! In addition to this, I had to replace the socket, which in my case is positioned under the kitchen sink, totally recessed like your kitchen. I had pain in my shoulders and back for two days. LOL.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. We bought a hotpoint dishwasher to replace an old Bosch that had finally died and I refused to pay £100 extra for installation. I mean.. how hard could it be? Not sure I’d have succeeded without your help. Ours didn’t come with the insulation strip (seems like this is a common issue from the comments) but I rescued the insulation from the old machine which had loads so hopefully it won’t be noisy.
I’d add a couple of extra tips if anyone else is going to try this…
I nearly snapped the back leg by pushing the dishwasher backwards when the rear leg was fully down. The legs need to be clear of the floor if you’re sliding it in and out.
Also… when I laid the door down flat and was screwing the door panel in situ I found it helpful to wedge something underneath to hold the door panel against the door of the dishwasher. A basketball worked perfectly 😁

This is like a summary - it might have been helpful to see more detail of each operation e.g. close up pictures (could be stills) of each connection under the worktop. What I found really interesting was having to modify the paper template guidance on the hole positions to be drilled in the back of the decor door panel. I have just installed a replacement dishwasher myself, and getting the decor panel to align both vertically and horizontally with adjacent cupboard doors was a nightmare. At least I’m not the only one having to resort to trial and error, but for the very minor adjustments that become necessary, because - for example - the slightest variation in gap from top to bottom between the dishwasher decor panel and adjacent cupboard doors cannot be tolerated by the eye - the problem is magnified because how do you drill a new hole so close to the old one when the adjustment needed is so minor?
Your point about checking and adjusting fixing point by fixing point one by one proved to be essential. The time lapse doesn’t do justice to just how time consuming, frustrating and painstaking this process can be! (Especially when the template is inaccurate to start with! Even trying to allow for the top of the dishwasher being marginally higher than the top of the adjacent cupboard doors from the get go doesn’t avoid the need for trial and error, as the margins are so fine and impossible to assess by sufficiently accurate measurement, with even an error of under a mm making a noticeable difference!)
One thing that greatly helped me in the end was using self-tapping screws (instead of the ones supplied) so that I could screw through from the inside of the dishwasher door to the decor panel without having to remove it and pre-drill the hole each time. Where one or two screws seemed to have caused misalignment to start with, I could start again with other fixing points (my door had 6 in all, excluding the two slide in locating lugs near the top, setting the exact height of which was a nightmare of its own), first one side, then another, checking at each stage that the door stayed aligned after each, and if it didn’t, removing the last one and trying a different fixing point instead, while making sure to apply some pressure to the panel in the corrective direction while screwing it up.

You can adjust the legs when it’s in situ, but not once it’s fixed in place as it won’t move then. The best way is to get the right position and then adjust the legs to finalise height through adjustment.

Appalling Miele install on $3000 dishwasher, not level hits kickboard, dishwasher basket slides open , waiting for dishwasher basket to throw plates on floor, no protective cover put in timber floor, they were finished for the day at just after one. The most awful rushed job ever. I had to tell them to level the machine and he argued with me, never used a spirit level. Still waiting to hear back from Miele. Finding little grey buttons on kitchen floor. Machine not vertical.
    Ps
Shortly after I wrote this I received a call from a company sent by Miele to remedy the install, there were screws missing, machine unstable and it took the wonderful young guy who came an hour to fix. He did an amazing job Why does Miele use such dodgy companies to do the installation of such a high quality product? And it costs them money. Now I’m very happy with the dishwasher.
