If Goa was converted into a gem (fake narrative bcz Goa was always a gem & India was always a gem else why every european wanted a piece of Indian land?) then Goa inquisition was a gem of all tourture, slaughter & conversion of natives in history. Please read the history of all Christian inquisitions around the world to know how intolerant and inhuman they were. Today the world is different but look at the converting missionaries how unhuman they are. Lets be honest and bring peace to the world as it is now rather thenconverning in the name of ’spreading good news’ in the false name of a great human Jesus. Jesus would have never sanctioned the cruel ways of the missionaries in poor nations. Indian Christians must stand up against conversion in India.

Goan Hindus under Timoja CHOSE to fight as allies of the Portuguese in 1510. Goan Hindus knew from past experience that the Portuguese would promote their Catholic religion and their own Portuguese culture after they conquered Goa. Goan Hindus accepted this outcome, hence the Velhas Conquistas became majority Catholic and Lusitanised.
The concept of a secular, multicultural state didn't exist back then. The Adilshahis were using methods like jiziya tax to encourage conversion to Islam. Note that Hindus had become a minority in Tiswadi by the time of the Portuguese arrival. Numerous temples had already been demolished under the rule of the sultanates.
In addition, the good works (hospitals, schools, colleges, legal system, etc.) of the Portuguese vastly outnumbered their misdeeds. Note that contemporary Hindu rulers (e.g. Shivaji) never bothered setting up any institutions that would benefit ordinary people. If you don't believe this, visit Raigad (Maratha capital) and compare it to Old Goa. It's completely behind Old Goa in every way. Hence Catholic Goans remember the Portuguese rulers with respect and admiration, and continue to maintain their Catholic religion and Lusitanised culture even in the face of continued attacks from both Leftists and Hindutva supporters.

@@ThunderIndian Nope, it's what really happened in Tiswadi. Read the book 'Conquerors' by Roger Crowley, it's available on Amazon India. Local Hindus helped the Portuguese take Goa and kill the Bijapur Muslims, the Portuguese were outnumbered and couldn't do it all by themselves.

    Mark twain said -
"India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great-grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only."
The Hindu civilization is the only civilization that allowed seamless integration of every religion with the Hindu thought and philosophy. This civilization is a seeker of knowledge and hence did not give labels like kafirs to someone from a different school of thought than the original Hindu philosophy. It was always open for debate and adopted the best practises from all over the world and hence India is called the cradle of all religions. Every persecuted in the world found a place in India to practise and propogate their religion and thought fearlessly. The Jews, the zorastraians from Iran who are referred to as Parsis, the Muslims, the Christians and many more smaller faiths came and integrated since time immemorial with this great Hindu civilization. Hinduism or sanatana dharma is the only continuous living civilization with a 10,000 year history. No wonder the queen ketevans glorious relic was preserved with great respect in Goa and returned back to Georgia where it actually belonged.

Thanks to BJP goverment for returning the relics of the queen Ketavn of gorgia. Now when will the relic of said to be Francis Xavier be returned to Sri Lanka being of Asian origin? A claim put forth during Portuguese regime. Why has the bishop refused to do together DNA test on the corpe to settle its ownership once and for all.

Vedas ,puranas itihasas shastras seem to make no sense to one of the interviewees. He forgets stree dhan was there many thousands of years before the Portuguese even knew how to tie their ponytails and that the manusmriti and not the magnacarta was the first constitution of the world and was also the first charter of rights and responsibilities. A thousand years of invaders has not changed the outlook even after over 70 years of independence. Shame

It is very very horrible just to imagine how much excruciating pain the queen might have to endure throughout the process of torture. How much one can be so cruel in the name of religion though it is unthinkable but for Muslims crueality is quite normal even it is not based on religion .

Mr. Savio Abreu, are you a lecturer in a college really? Don't you have any shame? What nonsense are you speaking about only Portuguese bringing in record keeping to India? What nonsense are you speaking about only Goa having laws that treat male and female children equally for inheritance? Really? I just google and see that Abreu is a Portuguese last name. Is you intent to spread propaganda about your ancestors who were actually brutes who enslaved and robbed and ran inquisitions on colonized people worldwide? Or are you so inept that you don't state basic facts correctly?
