Can believe they left the under panels raw and rusty. Self tappers for the fuel tank straps. No grommets for wires. But at lease they have ultrasonic mice protection that probably doesn’t work!
no touch up paint when he cut out the grill shell for the radiator cap bare metal. this isnt all informative it is simply a 30 minute commercial for parts vendor such a poorly planed project.
I was checking the comments before I said the same thing... I cannot fathom that after all this hard work they'll leave those bare wires to rub on that razor edged metal. But who knows if they addressed that. O_o Looked at the firewall shot @15:51 and it still looks like a raw-cut hole..
Super job!!! Maybe a future improvement snorkel for air intake and exhaust system all the way to the back and up, so you can go submarine with the mail junk
I like how they said wiring is the most important part of a car, but also not putting a grommet in the hole and it looks like a 5 year old did that wiring job..
I bought a truck from Jeremy years ago and everything was done very well. I believe some of the issues people are seeing are for filming shots. Or because its a TV build. Real life Jeremy is not a hack.
I'm sure most of these folks calling out Jeremy don't know what to call a screwdriver, and have probably sold a car on bald tires with "75%" tread. ...but at least they used a rubber grommet.
If it's one thing I learned about the youtube comment section, it's that 90% like to whine about everything, knitpick about everything, know absolutely everything, and if you don't do it their way they think your an idiot.
Not priming or painting where you cut for the grommets, wiring loom and radiator filler neck or where you cut the radiator mounts is a sure recipe for rust and whats with no grommet to protect the wiring loom where it passes through the firewall.
You mention protecting the important wires, maybe add Mouseblocker... but you straight up put your harness through a fresh-cut hole in the firewall with no gasket and nothing securing the wiring to the firewall, so you're absolutely going to see those wires chew themselves to death as soon as you hit the trail
I kinda laughed when they said the msd ignition module will insure snappy throttle response. That's only one part of the system that needs to work seamlessly with other systems in order for that to happen. They should have installed a 4.0.
I agree this jeep has a serious identity issue huge axles super strong, tons of high dollar parts on a crappy frame and yes with all the other money spent defiantly should have been a 4.0 not to mention the placement of the trans cooler. this build if not at all well thought out or informative it is just a 30 minute commercial for various parts vendors. i could go on and on.
Ugh that windshield frame looks awful, I liked the idea of this build up until this episode. Self tappers for the fuel tank? You put an hour into the straps and 3 seconds into securing it all 😂
give em a break folks, they are being sponsored to sell tools and parts, that's all, one or two drives around the sand and the thing will get parked or sold, on to the next build to give everyone ideas about they're own builds. But we knew that already.
Holy crap, you guys really globber on the sealer crap, so much that surprised it doesn't cause problems, worked for a farmer that had deutz tractors, air cooled diesels that were manufactured with no gaskets or sealer stuff,, and had no leaks, hydraulics or engine oil,,, so much of what and how these guys do sends me back to high school shop class and all the dumbbutts making instructors going wtf you thinking or doing???
Lookin good. Now come out and rescue me with my TJ frame rebuild so I can get rolling again. I will give ya the crusty ole 60 Willys CJ5 with hard top for the help fixing my TJ
Why did they put the electric trans cooler where its exposed to water and maybe flying stones? I'd at least put some protection under it.. Anyway the car is awesome. It's a rhd and that's what makes it a lot cooler 😎
I don't think gasket maker should be use for intake manifold as gasoline could remove the seal. I think you should use a gasoline proof gasket to ensure no gas leaks so close to the manifolds as it could cause a fire.
why put all that money in it then cheap out on cleaning up the rust under the body also hope the touch up the rad support from the hole saw cut or that will last a month before rusting out
Been repairing cars for a VERY long time. Mice have NEVER been a problem. I have cats. Ferrets and Raccoons have torn up my truck seats a time or two. College kids seem to drop off their unwanted pets around here. Corrosion and moisture are a far more serious problem.
These build shows hack stuff apart as a rule. It’s like they need to, to show off the sponsored tools and equipment, rather than preserve nice condition sheet metal.
@@Billhatestheinternet yes. But those are 2bbls, not 4bbls. Same with the pair of 32DAR's on my Slant Six at the momeny :) When I have the HyperPak manifold on there, primaries face the motor.
No grommet in the razor sharp ragged hole...but they bought into the "Ultra-sonic mouse defender" claptrap....I got something for you!!!!...just $29.95...
Sooo many things to pick apart with this build. No grommet in the fire wall, trans cooler mounted on the undercarriage, using self tappers rather than nuts and bolts, rubber lines instead of hard lines for the fuel. And how many times are your fingers going to get scraped up opening the radiator cap. No attention to detail on the fit and finish. I watch a lot of Powernation builds and have always liked them but this has to be the lowest quality build I have ever seen them do for a project.
I love these old Jeep. A great vehicle to do an electric mod to. That Chevrolet electric conversion to a 2wd set low and tuned to a city coupe would/could be a real crowd pleaser. Solar panels on the roof? Many ways to take it.

So now that you painted the Jeep your gonna go and drill holes into the sheet metal without painting the exposed metal!!! WTF dudes get it together and do the project right.
A couple of hacks on TV showing you how to do everything wrong. Typical for TV shows these days. Automotive shows are nothing like they were back in the 1990s. Now it’s all advertisement. if anybody actually believes that motor started up that quickly on the first shot, I’ve got some Ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. this is what you get when you hire actors to play mechanics on television.
3:45 I'll drill out making room for our wiring harness. 3 inches away from an electrical knock out tab 😆
These guys are so lame
Also didn't put a grommet in the firewall hole for the wiring to prevent wire insulation chaffing.
Lmao this is the worst series from powernation.
I love the slick transition from forming the exhaust joint with the clamp on, then "needing to cut it" lol.
Can believe they left the under panels raw and rusty. Self tappers for the fuel tank straps. No grommets for wires. But at lease they have ultrasonic mice protection that probably doesn’t work!
Self tappers lol. Definitely trust those to hold after being driven with an impact
The fuel cell was so badly done
So, you guys were gonna go back and put a grommet in that hole in the firewall for the wiring, right?
"because Roadkill......uh, I mean Carcass"
This was bothering me too lol
Glad to see I’m not the only one with OCD here 😂
It's okay, they have the mouse blocker pro to protect their wiring
I wonder how long it will take that trans cooler to get fouled up with mud and gunk...
electric and water?
Couple seconds on the road
That's the first thing I thought.
No grommet on the hole in the firewall the wiring is going thru. WTF?
Hahahaha that's exactly what I thought.. I guess they couldn't find a grommet sponsor 😂
EXACTLY!
no touch up paint when he cut out the grill shell for the radiator cap bare metal. this isnt all informative it is simply a 30 minute commercial for parts vendor such a poorly planed project.
They couldn't run that exhaust another 2 feet so the gases aren't billowing back in the cab door window?
Yes I AGREE 100% that's pretty F$×#&€ STUPID NOT using A grommet ?? Likewise What the HELL Guys. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

They have obviously never worked aerospace where corrosion control is hammered into your head constantly. Wondering the same thing.
You forgot a rubber grommet for that super sharp hole you cut in the fire wall. You’ll have issues in no time. 🍻
I really like the shorty muffler system.

Hey guys, Concider this a challenge. Find a Hudson straight eight and rebuild it and see how much HPs you can get out of it.
if i could get my hands on a hudson straight 8 i would be in heaven
Very cool build. That thing is begging for a AFR headed 302 though. Roughly same weight and engine size but 400 hp for the Ford.
