    Thank you for the info. I am getting my Labradoodle puppy most likely on Wednesday. I have had many dogs , but none with this kind of fur. You gave me a good insight of the doodle grooming -thank you

    I have a 4 y/o rescue who spent his entire life in cage. He has been here six months and we have had so far two really bad grooming experiences with groomers who do not know how to cut doodles. He’s a Bernedoodle. I bought a grooming table and am using your videos to tackle this! Wish me luck! I’m a nurse, not a groomer lol😅

    I have a very small breeding program of ALD. I groom my 4 babies with the help of your videos. I still am (and forever will be) a work in progress. I watched this today and wanted to say a huge THANK YOU! This helps tremendously! xoxo

    I REALLY appreciate this video and will be checking out your other videos as well. For a ‘beginner at home groomer’ one aspect of the video I liked was your demeanor with the dog. Kind but not overly coddling. I will be rewatching! Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this video! I have a 20 month old australian labradoodle who does not do well at the groomer at all. I have been having fun learning to groom her myself with your tutorial. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow, and the video is enjoyable to watch. It has given me confidence in mastering the techniques. I appreciate it!

    Thank you so much for this! We're going to try grooming our own 9 yo baby because he gets so anxious when we go to the groomers. And at the last one, they cut his leg, and I just think he'd be more comfortable if it were us. Appreciate the step-by-step tutorial and the list of products to use.

    Thank you so much for the video. I've been cutting my ALD for the past year or so. Your advice and instruction are very clear and easy to understand. Best instruction video I've ever watched. Nice speed as well. If you could add the illustration of the visual image for a shape of the haircut for the head, it'd be helpful (e.g., profile showing the bangs to the ear to the cheek, top of the head from the front to the neck, etc.). There's much to absorb for an armature.

    Amazing! This is a really beautiful but complicated (for me) cut. I learned from the video how to better do my dogs sanitary trim and I’ll be ordering thinning shears to do a better job around his eyes. I may buy the comb and slicker brush you and our breeder use. His real haircuts will continue to be from his groomer.
    This is my first ALD and he’s now almost 9 months old.

    This is so helpful. I wish you were in Oregon. I have yet to find a good groomer for my 2 year old ALD. It is heartbreaking. So...I've decided to see if I can learn enough to do it myself. It's a little scary though. Thank you so much for your careful work and good communication about what you're doing. My dog could be this one's brother. Same thick coat and color. Most recent groomer shaved him down because of what she felt were mats despite all our brushing at home and dematting around the ears and neck and back of legs. Groomer gave him a complete shave...around his toes even. Poor thing. I wish I knew what to do so that never happens again.

    Thanks for this really informative video. Your dog was very calm and patient and perhaps you could suggest some ideas that might help those of us with more reactive dogs. Some groomers have complained about my dog’s behaviour so his haircuts are not always as fashionable as might be. Any ideas that I could do at home to prepare him for his ‘spa’ day?

      Hi there. Go through the "process" of getting him up on the table/in the shower...whichever point causes him to start reacting...just get him into place and treat, and let him go. Repeat. Next time, add something...turn the water on, or brush a bit of hair. Treat, release. It will be a long process. Do it every day!!! Be sure to only get him into place the first couple of times, and then add steps really slowly, working your way up to a full groom. Hope this helps!!!

    Thank you for this comprehensive video. Just did my second full groom on my 5 month old ALD. He looks much better than first time around. I found the blending tips, combing against the hair growth and the comments about “not a show dog” very helpful. I had trouble finding the recommended brush on your website. Please provide the name, I would like to get one.

    Suggestions on dog who’s matted who will need a significant cut. Rather than shampooing more hair than needed - would you suggest a overall quick clip of dirty coat, bathe, dry, and do full groom?

    I was given a Wahl grooming set for Christmas and it came with a 'Precision premium smooth cut' blade but after watching your videos where you are using either a #10 or a #30 blade I don't know what size blade the Precision is. Should I be buying the #10 & #30 blades. I have a Labradoodle and I am in Australia

    • @BigRockLabradoodles
      @BigRockLabradoodles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wahl sets are everything from Walmart to professional. Professional sets come with a 10 blade. It sounds like you received an economy kit. Unfortunately, this MIGHT groom your Doodle once. They just do not have the necessary power.

    40 minutes into the video, my audio turned to music. So I could not hear about 4 minutes. Then music stopped and audio voice came back. Unfortunate, since I really needed this info. I used to groom my standard poodles but now that I have my first Aus Labradoodle, it is different. My little girl is a mini and has a much straighter and fine coat than Hera does and my poodles did, so I will have to adjust. But overall, this was exactly what I needed. I will view your ‘head’ video to catch what I missed in this one.

    • @BigRockLabradoodles
      @BigRockLabradoodles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, unfortunately, I had to cancel the audio in that section due to a song in the background that would not allow me to post the video...that is why I did text over in that section...to still explain the process.

    Thank you for your helpful videos. What is your take on expressing anal glands? Do you do that yourself with your dogs? Could you do a video on that? I know that many dogs naturally express it themselves during their potty break, but if our dog is scooting her bum on the carpet, I think she needs some help.

    • @BigRockLabradoodles
      @BigRockLabradoodles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. As a raw feeder, I never have issues with anal glands and have never had to express them. Scooting can also be a sign of worms, so, be sure your dog is dewormed.
