This really impressive, so helpful. My lecturer sends me to a deep peaceful sleep as soon as he opens his mouth! This was so much easier to follow.

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! This is one of the best youtube videos on ANOVA. Very clear very understandable. You made things much easier on me. Can't thank you enough.

Thank you for your ANOVA video's so much. It has made is possible for me to get through Behavioral stats. I do hope and pray like others that you will produce more ANOVA video's. The Two Way ANOVA is next on my list and I'm terrified of trying to learn it without your assistance!

I will probably continue to add more and more statistics related topics (including Operations Management) to this channel in the near future.

Is it possible to calculate ANOVA with just the mean and the number of data points in the set and not knowing each individual set? I'm trying to figure it out but I can't seem to....

Rebecca Vance Rebecca, I don't think so. I am curious what you are trying to figure out. Is this part of a homework assignment? If you figure this out of if your professor has some sort of trick please let me know.

Do you have a video on how to calculate factorial ANOVA as well?

Why is the methods here 1:45 so different from the ones in the previous playlist? I hope I am not getting wrong understanding here >.

I really like your videos and your methodical way of teaching. However, this video seems to teach the wrong calculations. Following these instructions renders results that are way off, likely because instead of squaring the difference between the sample values and the means of the sample groups, you only square the original values. At first I thought this might be a nifty shortcut, but it turned out to not be workable. You might want to take a look if this is the case, or correct me if I'm wrong

I thought this too at first, but instead he is using a really clever identity to simplify the calculations. The sum of squares of a data set can be calculated by summing the difference in the individual values and the set mean, ie E[(x-mu)^2] but this is equal to E[x^2-2xmu-mu^2]. After some manipulations it can be shown that this expression is in fact equal to E[x^2]-1/n*(E[x])^2 as stated in the video.
