  • Ever wondered the thoughts that go through my head during a marathon strength and conditioning workout, well look no further. I bring you along to leg day at the gym mic up and give you all the juicy bits, this was a humbling session but S&C has been so key to my last marathon block. S&C keeps me injury-free and makes my body stronger for the constant abuse I put it through.

    Who would think a gym session, which many runners dread, could be so entertaining?! 😃Love the grind and yours and Daniel's humour. One of those French girls hovering nearby, was seriously strong. Nearly spat my coffee out when I saw her do that challenging squat with elbows /hands tucked under chin. She then made your pull ups look a little lack lustre. Still, you can do one more than most, Philly...or should that be 2?

    • @PhilyBowden
      @PhilyBowden  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha thank you! And yeah some seriously impressive French women lifting in there, pretty inspiring!

    • @Jess-Rabbit
      @Jess-Rabbit 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That "challenging squat" is literally just called a front squat. That's how you do it. Its simple. Every crossfitter and weightlifter can do that. She had good form but its not some kind of unique and unusual movement
      Edit - she is probably either a weightlifter or crossfitter because she had weightlifting shoes on. Judging by her good technique I would bet she is a weightlifter

    • @kasperoertoft
      @kasperoertoft 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jess-RabbitFront squat is literally more challenging than a back squat. It requires mobility, core strenght and of course quad strengt. Very challenging lift. Maybe not for you but for the average gym goer it is.
      And that girl performing it was very strong. Why do you not wanna acknowledge that?
      You saying it is simple is just not true.

    Sam Sulek of running.
    Also (I'm not an expert so bare with me) you might enjoy it better with different shoes (or even without any shoes if you feel comfortable). The running shoes with all the cushioning make your lifting feel very unstable, could even cause injuries. You can for instance see the bounce/instability in the deadlift side-shot.

    Great to see some S&C in your training. Might I suggest using some different shoes when lifting, though. Those Hokas with the massive stack height are great for cushioned running, but probably not the best for a stable base of support when you're lifting weights - unless you're aiming for deficit deadlifts :)

    • @PhilyBowden
      @PhilyBowden  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3
