I will toss in my vote for historical reaction videos too! So much has changed with pointe shoes. Would love to hear Josephine’s thoughts on that and I’m always up to hearing anything from Katie :)

ohmygosh Lexi is BEYOND technically solid and watching her dance while having fun with it is inspiring!
2:15 Thank you so much for bringing up Hypermobility! I danced for over two decades and my instructors were always impressed with my insane, natural flexibility. Turns out I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and now that I'm in my 30s I'm REALLY paying for all my years of over excessive stretching. Most days I can barely keep my joints in the sockets. I really worry for both younger and future generations that are being taught at such a young age to bend and stretch their bodies in such extreme ways. Always listen to your body! 💖
My Ehlers caused me to stop dancing and have back surgery at 19 and I'm in need of another. My teachers loved my hypermobility. Very dangerous if not taught correctly

I have EDS too and it's super painful now :( I made a really difficult decision to continue dancing even though it really hurts. I really really work on pain management every night and I can't dance every day that I want to but I just do every day that I can, bc I know I'm probably going to be in a wheelchair either part or full time someday either way. I've been working really hard to manage it with the right therapists and I'm hoping it goes okay for a little longer! It's sooooo hard to hear that part when we get diagnosed :( 'the worst thing for this is ballet'.......wtf do you mean?!?!?!
@@winterrrsea1674 It really is such an additional low blow when you're already dealing with the diagnosis of EDS. I truly hope you're able to keep dancing (healthily) for awhile! 🦓💖
dancers need to do both strength and mobility work. Strength helps you control your hypermobility.

Wow Lexi is the first dancer I can remember who literally put a smile on my face, she just lights up the room with her effortless artistry.
I absolutely love watching dancers prepare for YAGP because when I was a young dancer I was supposed to compete in YAGP back in like 2006 (or something like that) and never got the opportunity to. Every year I'm always glued to my screen watching the videos from every YAGP because these young dancers worked so hard and they deserve a bigger audience.
Even as a non-dancer this was so fun! Thanks everyone!!

Would love to see a video where you got the first and last girls new shoes. The first one for sure, but the third girl seemed to be going way over her box. She could just need some strategic darning, but I would love to see what you could do with each of them and see a before and after of the variations!
More of this‼️ We get to see the shoes functioning for the dancer. And we get to see the dancers coming into their style and talent.
I literally watched Lexi twice she has such a beautiful smile and dancer, she is just beautiful, her presents and technique are marvelous! I would love to see her perform if she has a TH-cam channel.
This is wonderful for everyone to see! The functionality of the shoe and how unique a pointe shoe can be to a dancers need , ability and shape is very interesting. Plus the dancers are super solid in their variations and are a joy to watch 🌸🌸🥰 Definitely more of this 💗💗

The best part of this commentary and the judges is that Jo and Kathryn make a point to say something positive and encouraging to every single dancer, and any criticism is not 'this is wrong, do this instead' it's "try this to improve that skill.'
Please do more of these!! Any dancers 🩰 who want to perform any parts! I can watch it ALL DAY! The way you critique is very nice, (and the addition of pointe shoe critique is quite helpful)!! I love it 💕 ooO and maybe even before and after performances where you refit shoes for them and later show them dancing another part. I love that these aren’t just short clips and cuts, rather you allow them to dance through the whole section from a piece.
Living for all these collabs with Kathryn!! Seriously. They are the best.

At my dance studio we do a big ballet every year at recital. This years is Sleeping Beauty and I have a solo variation. I am doing the Songbird variation which is a quick 30 second variation but it’s one of the fastest variations of the ballet (which is 14 minutes long). Watching this video was very entertaining and actually helped me know what to focus on for my variation! :)

This was brilliant because it showed what each of you see, clearly and concisely. The viewpoints come from different places, yet complement each other to create a better, stronger, more stable dancer, who in turn, can go out and shine. 💜

This was so much fun. Loved hearing you guys commenting on the dancing, the feet, the shoes. Loved seeing the dancing and the girls trying to fit their dances into a tiny space and almost ending up out the door or in the audience. Would love love love to see more of these. Would also love to see a fitting with the first girl that you both thought wasn't fitted well.

This is worth an extra channel! More specific: These Three performances commented in real time let me see things I haven't seen before, and I have seen a lot of ballet videos! Then there is this magic that happens when two kind and open minded friends share a conversation! This is such a pleasure in itself! I am convinced that this is something special that you really should consider to continue! I can see that this could win people for ballet who otherwise never would spare a thought for it!
