I'm curious what everyone does in the off-season. I was hoping to find another forest service related job for the winter, and build on my resume. I'll go wherever I am needed if the job is worth the time. This will be my first season, and next year I will be applying for a type 1 crew. Thanks for the great tips Ronni!

I have an interview on the 23rd, and there is no website/ forums to show what to wear to a wildland fire interview as a woman. I feel like everything I wear won’t be taken seriously. Any tips? What did you wear?
You can wear a collard shirt with some slacks or a nice blouse or sweater with slacks. I'd look up some business casual ideas off google. For shoes, personally I'd wear flats or close to flats, no heels. I'd also have my hair pulled back in a low bun or have it down and be straight or curled. No crazy hair styles. Hopefully that helps, let me know if you have any other questions. If not, good luck!
They say dress appropriately for the position you are applying for. Being wildland, i agree with the smart, casual look. Be yourself, and be comfortable in what you choose to wear. if you are comfortable, you’ll also be more relaxed. Ronni’s tips are good. all the best for the interview 😊
