Absolutely worth it I mean come on who else can give you the ability to buy and build JAWS
Definitely Goonies - could be a whole series of sets.
Oh man. I definitly need the Treasure ship of One-Eyed Willy.
@@DoubleDsDeliveries... and the maze to get to the ship ...
@@DoubleDsDeliveries YESSS!
I’m looking forward to getting this set. This movie has been a part of my life, since 1975, my entire life. I think it looks awesome. For another Spielberg movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind would make a fun set. We could build the mountain and a UFO to sit above it.
Putting the ludicrous price aside, I do like the Minis a lot but as far as the boat is concerned i'm really not a fan of that large gap where the bow narrows down, the orca print is a plus but these days especially at legos premium prices they really should print everything. the shark looks good but as you said he doesn't quite look chonky enough. and i'm not sure those bulging eyes do it a favor, it makes it look a bit too puppy eyed i think.
@@GexMax nitpicky comment
A Tintin series would be awesome and I would buy everyone of them.
So…you think they need a bigger boat? ;)
We need a 1/18 scale maximum overdrive truck
It’s good to have money. That’s why I’m buying 2
The actual purchase price in Taiwan is about 120 USD$!
Already pre-ordered, waiting for the official release date on 8/6 😊
Did it come?
almost done! Beautiful set ... ^_^~~
@@bfcsbfcs awesome
Just picked this up today! My local lego store had a few in stock, they said the one I got came into the store today.
Cabin is too small. Best scene other than the diorama, is when they trade stories in the cabin. Cabin needs to hold all 3 of them, to recreate the iconic uss Indianapolis story scene...
This set is my white whale, or should I say shark. The nitpicks addressed in this review are negligible to how amazing this looks.
Next up…….DUEL
I’m still surprised by the fact that they actually made a Lego jaws set as for years, I remember people building their own sets and building the own sharks and making their own Mocs of the Orca. Finally we have a Lego set and it’s it is very hard to believe as for years I wanted a jaws Lego set and I did make my own custom one and now that one exists I’m so happy to own it.
It cracks me up that LEGO's packing is so bad that even this reviewer's box is badly dented. 😂
Is it lego's fault or the shipping company?
@@DoubleDsDeliveries Both, but everyone knows that shipping companies are notoriously bad at handling packages carefully. Most retailers include plenty of padding or packing material to protect the items they ship--but not LEGO. They just chuck a LEGO box into a bigger box (maybe with a little crinckled-up paper) and call it a day. This results in the LEGO box rattling around during shipping. A lot of people say it doesn't matter if the LEGO box arrives damaged or destroyed, as long as the pieces inside are fine. But that's just making an excuse for poor customer service on LEGO's part.
@@kentslocum I agree with you. If you're buying online to add to your collection and don't plan on opening the box id look into buying from brick and morter stores. The you can at least pick the best looking box. But I realize there's not a local store everywhere. I'm 5 mins from the new lego factory being built in Chesterfield, VA. There's supposed to be an attached store if I'm not mistaken.
@@DoubleDsDeliveries I just purchased a few discounted LEGO sets from Barnes & Noble's online store and received free shipping. I expected to wait a while to receive my order via snail mail, but they turned up within two business days via special courier on my doorstep in the sturdiest boxes I've ever seen. The inside was full of those air pillows, and there wasn't a dent or scratch on the LEGO box. So clearly Barnes & Noble is my future choice for LEGO, if they have any kind of sale.
I actually ordered this 8/3 at 7am so I better not have to wait on backorders. I have been waiting 1.5 years for this.
"We're gonna need a bigger boat."
next set is schindlers brick
Never saw the movie but seriously considering getting it to place together with the old fishing store
Never seen Jaws????? What
I have the same thought
I like what you said about the width of The ORCA and I agree 100%. I have a question, has LEGO ever turned to you for advice pre-release? Perhaps they should if they don't. Great review!
Awesome!!!!! Looks great!!!
Can you feed Quint to the shark!!!
W vid btw I think the set is worth it
Thought the voice sounds familiar. Always love your action figure reviews. It seems your review process, style, and analysis are also working well for a LEGO set review. Great job, geek effect.
Fantastic I bought two sets UK love it saw,the film when I was 11 couldn't wait for the lego set to come out
I just have one question: can you fit a minifigure inside the shark's mouth?
@@Ishtarru.. maybe in pieces ;)
@@Ishtarru ... maybe in pieces 😉
Maybe Lego Steven Spielberg
What other Steven Spielberg sets could LEGO make? ET?
Not making a Shindlers list set.
Paper Bags are not in the North American sets yet maybe next year.
Apparently LAN members are specifically sent copies of sets that include paper bags while regular copies that anyone can buy may or may not have them. That way they promote that Lego is including paper bags when it's not actually as widespread as they make it sound
@@joevictor53 As far as I know, early review copies of sets ship directly from Denmark, whereas retail/consumer copies of sets ship from the nearest factory (in the case of North America, it's usually the Mexico factory). So while I agree it is a bit deceptive, there is a good reason why there is a discrepancy. 😢
@@joevictor53 That's why LAN reviews should be heavily scrutinized by the consumer
@VolkswagenGamer Them having paper bags vs us having plastic ones changes nothing
@@marcuscostello5635 not just that in particular. I should have been more specific
Jeez this set is so coooooool
Hi Great Review, you touched on a few problems with the set, but the most obvious was the lack of shark cage parts, and the fact that although the boom is there, it is non-functional.
I agree with you, that the boat should have been bigger to deal with the Minifigures, and what would have made it perfect was a sound brick with the famous shark music. Now, that would be something,
But, instead we get this, though, not a bad effort, but it could have been so much better.
Does it have some crushed beer cans?
We should be grateful Lego didn’t charge 200 for this considering it’s Universal. But because of that contract with them I can understand the price tag. If this was just a shark and a boat it would probably be between 100-125.
I'm absolutely a fan of the film and this set... but not the price 😅
Gooooooonies💎🌟👑
4:40 so you’re saying they needed a bigger boat?
No
Where i can buy that
The fan edition is way better not even close to the official Lego set
No way. The shark should be the spotlight of the kit. But looks terrible. Come on, it's Jaws, not Orca. Easy pass.
It's a reference to how derpy the shark looks in retrospect.
I think that over time the price might go to 120 but still that’s what I think
I think the subject of a movie (jaws)-set is too far-fetched for LEGO.
I like it❤
Maybe worth $80 for the size. $150, complete pass
