I went to the co-op live last night, coming off the tram stop it suddenly dawned on me how big the site is, the lift towers are absolutely huge, it’s going to look great when finished.
Key Changes from your last visit: Commencement of removal of roof cladding and Insulation from Site 2 on roof structure.(possibly to enable crane access for yellow platforms) Installation of holding bracket for cable net braces on RHS steel structure getting ready to transfer load to enable removal of current brace column. Installation of Yellow hoist platforms inside the stadium (with more to follow outside) allowing mobile hoists to give access to internal roof sections. Continued further demolition of internal concrete base level at back of stand. Continued laying of access road tarmac in front of hotel. Concrete installation of Hotel 1st Floor base slab continued - storing of 2nd Floor column shuttering and steel reinforcement bars on 1st Floor. Commencement of 2nd Floor wooden shutter boarding installation atop 1st Floor columns. Groundworks to Office Complex opposite Hotel continuing Internal steelwork floor supports installed on level 3 of Centre steel structure
As a fan of Mancity club, I have followed the process of building a new academy area since 2010, then expanding the south stand in 2014, Co-op arena in 2021. And now there is a complex of hotels, squares, office areas, shopping shops, skybars, especially expanding the north stand by 7,910 seats, helping to increase the capacity of Etihad Stadium from 61,474 seats to 61,958 seats. I am very happy and excited after all these years of watching Mancity's development. Forever a love with Mancity
Well explained about the cables! 👌 Very clear pictures. Mcr has only held the F. A. Cup final once in 1893 when Wolverhampton Wanderers played Everton. It was played at the Fallowfield/Reg Harris Stadium bought by the University and demolished in 1994. Another historic site, like White City and collection of racecourse sites, lost to prosperity.
Does anybody know 100% for sure where the new club shop is going to be, I'm under the impression it's going to be where the squash courts are at the moment which I think is the low building with the bluey/green roof.
looking at where the cables are....Have they now welded a new bar in which is now taking all the weight of the cables/roof?......not been done yet on the one on the right?...they can now remove the old support behind??
Great progress with the stand part if the build, love to see the roof coming off

Insane how quickly the construction comes together.

I hope so, i try to explain them most times but still people ask lol
Where did he mention the fa cup did I miss something?
Thanks for doing these. Really interesting to see it come together. Your drone footage is brilliant as you can see much more than from the ground.
Super work again! I wonder when they'll start on the right-hand side of the building
Looks like more lift floor being added before the lift room gets built 😊
Superb footage and commentary as usual.
It’s Wednesday 😊

It will be opposite the hotel on the wing of the extension not yet built. It will face onto new City Square
Just seen my seat 😂😂👍

Exactly that, the new supports etc are in place on the left one so the old supporting pillar can be removed
starting on the right hand side now.....will there be a lift shaft on that side as well?
Whens next one? Hope the cables are refixed
Tomorrow (Friday)
looks like they are laying Tarmac.....bit early isnt it?
No bits and pieces left here either huh? 👍
