- This is a tribute to recently departed handsome, talented Canadian theatre, film and television actor Christopher Plummer. In his five decade career he has received an Academy Award, two Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a SAG Award, and a BAFTA Award. He will probably be remembered most for his role of Captain Von Trapp in the film “The Sound Of Music”. It is unfortunate that this was one of his least favorite roles, I think in part because he really didn’t have much room to ‘act’ in the role and his vocals were dubbed with another singer’s voice. However, he still reflected working with the great Julie Andrews with fondness. It’s funny that during an interview they both realized that they were single at the same time in between marriages and were puzzled as to why they never hooked up!! Enjoy! Thanks For Your Comments.

I was introduced to this beautiful wholesome classic of a timeless movie while I was at a Catholic camp for a week. The grand daughter of one of the directors, was the one who set it up to watch. I was enraptured by this movie ever since. We need directors who can make real wholesome and clean movies like the used to do. Christopher Plummer was handsome and debonair. What a handsome man, and a great actor God rest his soul
Very nicely done. I was unaware of the fact that Christopher Plummer recently died. I was also surprised to learn that Christopher Plummer's vocals were dubbed with another singer's voice in "The Sound of Music". The producers chose a good vocalist to do the dubbing. The singing voice matched the speaking voice quite well. Aside from this, we witnessed a tragic loss to the entertainment industry as well as a man of substance.
I watched the Sound of Music almost every night or any time when I have a chance. I fall in love with Julie and Christopher and they are the best. My #1 movie. I never tired of watching it. My favorite movie. I'm a singer and I love to sing with them and the children every time I watch the SOUND OF MUSIC. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. There are lots of good lessons in life that are showing in that movie, compassion, true love caring etc. not enough words to Express how much blessings feelings and gratitude. Good job!

I was lucky enough to see Christopher Plummer in King Lear in NYC in 2004. He was GREAT!!! I've been a fan of his since I saw The Sound of Music as a kid. SO SORRY to hear of his of his passing.
