Nope, you still won't get banned 👌 There's a rumour that controller support is coming to Genshin on Android in the future anyway so hopefully one day it'll be native support. Until then, Mantis is not a problem 👍

Awesome. I couldn't get it to connect with Type-c to Type-c, but it worked with the OTG adapter. It's not an issue with the cable , since I used 3 different cables and all of which I've used recently for an external SSD .
Hi @Android Addicts Are certain games like Call of Duty mobile and others not supported with Mantis? I’ve been using Mantis on my Shield TV for last few weeks, some games work fine like Mario Kart Tour, Crash on the run etc But others seems to have issues with button mapping, using the official Nvidia Corporation Xbox controller. Really pleased using Mantis, would like to see mouse cursor incorporated in later versions hopefully 🙂
@@andrewwhitfield5480 I like testing new material, Nvidia key gamepad still suffers issues and is not perfect in itself. I solved Mantis inquiry I asked above anyways, after adding new button binds/keys in game I would have to drag and drop the desired bind over the action command via that game.

On that note one app to try and watch for further development is the Odo Gamepad mapper. No root or any type of activation required to use. It's analog input is buggy but here's the thing that makes it standout. Say you have a game like Pubg where the analog is natively supported and works with your controller but button presses for action don't work this app can be used to bind only the corrections you need to make without disrupting native working inputs. I use Odo Gamepad with Winter Studio's remake of Resident Evil 4 and it makes the game completely playable with a controller.
Am having trouble using this method with a usb to usbc converter as the Target device is not able to access the host device. not sure if it is the adapter i am using or if it is because both cords are not usbc.
After setting everything following what's in the video, the app isnt working. Its not mapping the buttons X A Y B. Whenever I try to presd these button nothing is showing in the screen. The only thing I can put in the screen are the d pad and both the analog stick yet even the d pad and analog stick arent working after putting it in the exact location :(. Restarted the phone and reconnect the gamepad yet still having the same problem. Im using realme c25 and Ipega 9099. The game Im playing is anima rpg. Im not sure if it's compatible with the game or not.

Most controllers will either come with their own app or work with most games out the box. This app is only for games which DON'T support a controller natively

It's only necessary if the game you're playing doesn't already support a gamepad - and also if you don't want the game to detect you're using a gamepad...

It sounds like you might have something killing off the Mantis app whilst you're playing. Did you check the permissions at 1:43 to make sure you disabled permission monitoring (if you phone has it)

No, the USB-C to USB-C is not classes as USB-OTG. Think of it more like a way of converting one USB port to a different type. The adaptor I used here is overkill, something like this would do just as well: amzn.to/3c7aUjP which is just converting the USB-C to a USB-A female port. You could then use a standard USB-A to USB-C to connect to your other phone. The USB-C to USB-C cable I'm using is just a standard cable that came with my S20 Ultra last year.

The overlay stopped working for me. Samsung Note 10+. It won't open over games anymore. Support hasn't gotten back to me. It's been a few weeks. Anyone knows how to fix this?
I'd suggest you uninstall and then re-install the app. That way you know all the setting will be reset and you'll need to re-allow the 'appear on top' permissions etc
Wow that's not good! I have found the other apps which have permission to draw over the screen (floating window) need to be disabled for Mantis to work.

@@AndroidAddicts already did that but its not the solution; I already fixed it by opening the codm app on Mantis app, when codm already start, open the mantis app in 'open in pop-up view' mode and its working perfectly fine. Yes! If you need to bring up the keyboard then you'll need to choose your Input Method. So on the screen in the game where you'd normally type something in, you need to press the little keyboard icon near the text box (on Samsung phones at least) and select your input method. You'll see it'll say "MantisService" so change it to your phone's normal keyboard (mine is SwiftKey) and then type what you need to type - then, and this is important - set it back to "MantisService". Sometimes you can select the input method of your phone from the notification drawer too. Hope this makes sense 👍
Make sure you don't have any other apps which use the floating widget permission...I had a clicker app installed which stopped Mantis from running so I uninstalled it and Mantis worked fine.
Have you tried swapping from the other phone? If it still doesn't work try unplugging usb and trying again and if all else fails try rebooting both phones
@@AndroidAddicts still doesn't work, it say "cannot commutate".. Maybe it's caused from the different type of phone port. Let me explain... I'm using a galaxy j6 as host (old usb) and a Tab S5e as the target (usb-c). When i plug the j6 into the tab s5e via otg the tab s5e become the host and the j6 become the target, i wamt to make it in reverse (tab s5e the target and the j6 the host) After enabling usb debugging, i went on usb settings on tab s5e and i tryed to change the usb host. A pop up shows up with "cannot commutate"... I tried on my j6 too but there isn't any kind of option on usb settings so i'm stuck here. How can i fix this? Because my tab s5e is pretty more powerful than the j6 and i want to play games on the tab. HELP. (sorry for my terrible english)

You'll need to re-activate if you turn off your phone or restart it. Also, sometimes the background service can get killed by your phone so always check before you leave the house!
It's so you can use a gamepad on any game you wish. Not all games support a gamepad but this app allows you to map controls to the screen and play with a gamepad anyway. Well lucky you I've tried all the steps, and it's still not working for me and unfortunately there isn't any other alternative to this if this isn't working or at least not that I have found.. if anybody else finds another method that would be great! Because as of right now I'm SOL
Yes it's likely you'll need to re-activate if you don't use it for some time (could be hours or if you restart your phone). That's just the nature of how this type of mapping service works

Damn. My other older phone is android 6 almost have it. Also People say that if the phone is power off the debugging losses and you have to do it again can I ask that if the phone isn't powered off will it stay indefinitely???
It won't stay forever because programs get closed down by Android after some time. Either RAM management or the OS just doing its thing. However, once you get the hang of things it's quite quick to reactivate.

You'd need to keep it on the other phone as when you reboot your phone with Mantis, you'll need to re-activate it again

Awesome. I couldn't get it to connect with Type-c to Type-c, but it worked with the OTG adapter. It's not an issue with the cable , since I used 3 different cables and all of which I've used recently for an external SSD .

It needs activating every time the Mantis service gets killed off (with a phone reboot or just when your phone clears it down out of RAM)

If you've also done what Otis above has done then try using the ActivateWifi.bat file after it disconnects
@@baris-icin-savas disconnects is a pain and happiness a lot. Try Clear Defaults in the App info. Always works for me after that.

I'd drop the developers an e-mail and tell them your setup - they're very helpful and will be able to tell you if your controller is supported

The glap controller seems to have been discontinued 😥. Strange since it was only released in 2020. Does anyone know where i can still buy one?

You might need to try a property usb c to c cable in that case. Perhaps the adaptor causes issues...
Hi, I have a question, will it turn off the mantis buddy if I uninstalled the mantis pro app on the other phone after I activated mantis buddy on my primary phone?
It won't but Mantis on your phone will become inactive at some point - whether you reboot or the service dies you'll need to re-activate it again
I activate it using PC but somehow after awhile I charging my phone and the app get deactivate itself without me rebooting the phone, so annoying because I don't have second phone and need PC everytime
If that happens, try running the Activate WiFi .bat file and see if it'll reconnect it for you (without reconnecting to your PC)
The overlay stopped working for me. Samsung Note 10+. It won't open over games anymore. Support hasn't gotten back to me. It's been a few weeks. Anyone knows how to fix this?
I'd suggest you uninstall and then re-install the app. That way you know all the setting will be reset and you'll need to re-allow the 'appear on top' permissions etc
@@AndroidAddicts I did that. Nothing worked but, reformatting my phone. My guess would be the other apps I use conflicted with Mantis.
Wow that's not good! I have found the other apps which have permission to draw over the screen (floating window) need to be disabled for Mantis to work.
I tried all the steps and i also use Samsung smartphone, but every time i started the game from mantis app the setting does not appear when i click '+' button any suggestion or fix for that?
Did you allow all the floating window permissions? Maybe try uninstalling and re-installing the app

I already fixed it by opening the codm app on Mantis app, when codm already start, open the mantis app in 'open in pop-up view' mode and its working perfectly fine. A little messy but its working..

You shouldn't need this app if you're already working fine on your OnePlus phone. It's only for apps which don't natively support controllers 👍

I used Huawei Matepad since they give you a free keyboard. I tried using this method only for my phone to be activated and not the tablet.

Yes! If you need to bring up the keyboard then you'll need to choose your Input Method. So on the screen in the game where you'd normally type something in, you need to press the little keyboard icon near the text box (on Samsung phones at least) and select your input method. You'll see it'll say "MantisService" so change it to your phone's normal keyboard (mine is SwiftKey) and then type what you need to type - then, and this is important - set it back to "MantisService".
Sometimes you can select the input method of your phone from the notification drawer too. Hope this makes sense 👍

Does a USB-C to micro USB cable not work? One of my phones use a micro USB cable.

I try to swap usb same as in video 4:13 section but says couldn't swap :(
Have you tried swapping from the other phone? If it still doesn't work try unplugging usb and trying again and if all else fails try rebooting both phones

Maybe it's caused from the different type of phone port.
Let me explain...
I'm using a galaxy j6 as host (old usb) and a Tab S5e as the target (usb-c).
When i plug the j6 into the tab s5e via otg the tab s5e become the host and the j6 become the target, i wamt to make it in reverse (tab s5e the target and the j6 the host)
After enabling usb debugging, i went on usb settings on tab s5e and i tryed to change the usb host.
A pop up shows up with "cannot commutate"...
I tried on my j6 too but there isn't any kind of option on usb settings so i'm stuck here.
How can i fix this? Because my tab s5e is pretty more powerful than the j6 and i want to play games on the tab.

Very good, now turn off your phone or just turn off the app and leave the house, if I'm on the train or on the bus will I be able to access Mantis and connect my joypad without having to do it all again?
You'll need to re-activate if you turn off your phone or restart it. Also, sometimes the background service can get killed by your phone so always check before you leave the house!

It's so you can use a gamepad on any game you wish. Not all games support a gamepad but this app allows you to map controls to the screen and play with a gamepad anyway. Yes it's likely you'll need to re-activate if you don't use it for some time (could be hours or if you restart your phone). That's just the nature of how this type of mapping service works

It won't stay forever because programs get closed down by Android after some time. Either RAM management or the OS just doing its thing. However, once you get the hang of things it's quite quick to reactivate.

You need to enable the Floating Widgets permission. Try uninstalling Mantis and re-installing and it'll ask you for that permission again
