- In today's VERY SPECIAL episode of Truth OR Myth Beta, we're taking a look at the Hawking Class, a Fan Designed Starship Class by Mark Kingsnorth! What's special about this is that a) I get to create an entire Backstory for the Class and b) I reskinned the model from 2010, to bring it up to spec! So I hope you enjoy!

Beautiful design and remarkable story you've created for it.
👍👍
Dr. Hawking was big Trek fan. I think he’d be honored to have a class of ship named after him. Very well done with the ship and the backstory sir! The Sovereign and Excelsior class are still my favorites though. 😉 Thanks for the video.
I’m a Luna Class fan myself. Sovereigns sure are sweet though.
It WOULD have been even more iconic IF the computer AI spoke in his 90s, robot voice lol!
I still remember thinking it was awesome to see Professor Hawking playing against Data in a game of poker.
There was a shuttlecraft named Hawking.
Triangulum Studios, you’ve outdone, & surpassed your wonderful, amazing, on-point, brilliant, fantastic episodes; again, to freely give & share with us all the wonderful histories, technical specs, & interesting storylines of each & every Starfleet ship class. So many thanks for bringing us along with you guys, teaching us everything we need to know about our beloved Starfleet ships & crew. I hold you all in the deepest respect and the highest regard. Your amazing channel is such a treasure to come & visit, & it always feels like home here. You make us all feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you again, for another wonderful & amazing episode!! Much love…Michael
Cripes! I know a woman who was almost certainly studied to be the model for Dr. Brahms! She looks like her, has her personality of a toe jamb, and is as cold as Antarctica!
To be perfectly blunt: if I wouldn't have known that the background story is made from the ground up... I could have sworn it was alpha canon.
In that regard: congratulations and please continue to make such videos 👍
TAS Beta canon stories blow away the official alpha canon of Disco, Picard, and JJVerse. I wish CBS would give him a call.
That was a fantastic backstory I hope that not the last back story you come up for any starship🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you Sam :) And it all depends on the response from the community :)
Loved the concept of this class being a test bed for the quantum slipstream drive. It being named for Stephen Hawking also seems very appropriate for that reason 👍🏻
If I may make a recommendation for a future Beta Canon ship, I would love to hear you give a backstory for the Typhon-class carrier
Excellent reskin and lore!
Thank you very much :)
If no one has ever told the story of how the other Alpha quadrant powers reacted to the Federation getting such a huge tech boost with Voyager's return you should. Tensions and espionage would spike and could force longtime enemies to unite against the new threat such weapons and engine advancements would represent.
Want to see more ships adopt the armor shields. That was totally cool.
you need to read the typhoon pact novel series
What? No Hawking, 90s robosynth voice voice over? LOL! Ship is a stunner for sure!
I like that it's design lends itself so nicely between the Sovereign to the Temporal cruisers in STO ( Paladin and the others ) which leads into the Universe.
Fantastic Narrative, it’s cannon to me now
Thank you so much :)
Dude, that is a seriously beautiful shp! You did an amazing job on the ship and the story as well. Very cool, all around! Thank you!
There is something awesomely beautiful and elegant to this ship’s design… I love it.
Voyager and crew were responsible for slipstream drive. Also they brought back with future technology. The transphasive torpedoes and special armor the covered the home ship plus Borg technology from 7 of 9.
This is awesome. Most fan-designs are either just kitbashs or they're just tooo weird. Your design is in the sweet spot in between. A logical consequence.
Great Story. Great Great SHIP! Need more ships like this especially in STO. Maybe in future upgrade you can put a phaser Lance in the small bump on top of the saucer that the Hawking has.
One of the best looking fan conceived classes I can ever recall seeing. Ties in beautifully between the Intrepid and Universe classes. Great backstory too.
this this right here is what 32nd century ships should have looked like. they should have been smaller, sleeker, and none of that floating nacelle bullshit
I would be interested in your thinking as to how prodigy is showing a proto drive and the slipstream drive for the dauntless but no mention of the tech in Picard.
Your specifically good with ships and I have this theory that prodigy is taking place in the Calvin universe. That’s why they have all these additional technologies in their engines are so much superior because if you remember the engines in the kelvin timeline are closer to slipstream .
Also dauntless and protostar nacels kuch more like the Kelvin time line than prime.
I think the alternate badge is the hint but I am curious about these specific ship related items I mention
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Perfect for morning coffee! (Breakfast I think)
Well I hope you enjoy :)
Omg yea
Too kind :)
Your own work?
Dam that's fantastic, you should really apply for one of star treks writers, your just as good if not better.
This starship reminds me a bit of the *Universe Class (26th Century)* and could be a precursor to its eventual design.
Or write a whole book about ships and their history!
Wait not Canon yet? Quit lying, this is on point, great job!!!
LOL Thank you :)
Man these could have made a galaxy of difference during the Dominion war as scout/recon and deep insertions in to the Gamma Quad.
A quatum ship fleet could also cause new wars like the bajoran wormhole…
Wonderful backstory you developed and a beautiful ship this was an awesome video hope to see more in the future. =)
Love this whole story. I just wish it was called the Janeway class. She was the nexus for so much of this tech.
Well...you laid your little scenarium on a little thick, but I did enjoyed it very well. Always liked the hawking class.
This is a very sleak LOOKING ship. It looks fast just in standard orbit. Think Dr Stephen Hawking would like the design
Thank you :)
I'd love to hear your story about the Dedication Class. Great Episode.
This is a great backstory! I hope you come up with even more far future Beta Canon lore! Now I envision a (non Discovery) future with a united Milkyway galaxy, and all of it's people taking the ideals of the Federation into the local group starting with the Andromeda and Triangulum galaxies respectively...
Love the fanon backstory you came up with! Keep up the good work!
Fun historical narrative for a fan design. Keep them coming. 👍🖖
it's a pretty bird. i my mind i am still flying something older. maybe relegated to support fleet, but more traditional looking
Should we start using the term “subspacedynamic” designs?
3:57 I am so every so sorry to have to pick you up on a small fluff here buddy, when you were speaking about Leah Brahms you said 2290, didnt you mean 2390? especially if it was the latter half of the 24th century, 2290 would make it the latter half od the 23rd century, unless I am totally wrong?
Again I apologise if this is my mistake, I had to go back and listen a few times to make sure I wasnt being mistaken.
What I have loved about this video is that it is very deceptive with the looks, especially the nacelle pylons, on some angles they look flat and then in others you can see them clearly in an elevated position.
I would however myself question th elogic og having a warp core and slipstream core next to each other, I would have them seperated in different rooms - just in case, but I guess Starfleet boffins know wat they are doing, I mean as long as the core ejection systems function well as they do on the Intrepid and Sovereign class they are fine, as long as they dont have the same designers as those who made the Galaxy class ejection systems because they always failed.
You have the ship, you need the crew to man it now sir.
I would like to sign up to something in the sciences or what requires detailed analysis, or I suppose with my lectures something in the diplomatic area, to bore people to death with boring speaches - got me top marks though mhy speeches in college so I must have done something right, ha ha.
Do you have the name of he 12 Hawking class vessels? since this is a total beta canon vessel anyway it is good to let your imagination have some fun, so I am gonna take a guess and say you will have these ships names and registries too, though I owuld have thought the Hawking itself would keep the NX prefix, but that is just me I guess.
A very intriguing ship nonetheless and it takes alot of thanks from Voyager and its adventures for its development and advancing Starfleet and the Federation into the 25th century.
Very nice video nonetheless and I am sure you have man more to follow which you can with this ship alone create its onw unique encounters and such.
Keep up the fantastic work.
Peace and Long Life
it looks like a crossfield combined with intreped class
Gorgeous vessel and solid backstory
That was a really amazing video I really enjoyed it very much the Hawking class is a really amazing looking Starship & having it named after Stephen Hawking is really amazing
Great video fellow trekkie
Thank you so much!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios I would help your channel but I don't make that much money.
It is a hybrid class like the aktuell hybrid cars, a first stap into a new geration of space ships. This type can be a start a new time in the ST history.
Excellent video and story. How about making on about Riker' Zheng He, from were he rescues Picard?
Always amazed by the storylines you create. Another excellent job. I love it 💪💯👍
Fantastic render!! And the story is very compelling
Thank you so much John
Beautiful ship with a nice back story.
One thing that the Voyager return home and flyover scene at the Golden Gate Bridge got wrong is Voyager’s true size. It is considerably larger in comparison to the width of the bridge. I tell myself that maybe it was much higher in the sky in that moment so that my disbelief remains suspended.
Can't wait to the Universe class get your treatment!
Beautiful Ship with an amazingly well done back story! Awesome!
I was not as familiar with this ship class. What an excellent video and what a great canon story you've created for this ship! It honors Stephen Hawking, whom we know was a big Star Trek fan.
Have to have fun with star trek or it's no longer fun. I think you mean 2390s not 2290s. Keep up the great work I love your dedication. People like you keep trek fun.
Exactly :)
Did I say 2290's?
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios yes sir I believe so
Well darn! Guess Im not perfect ;) :P
Ahh. My favorite ST channel 😁 thanks for another great video
Glad you enjoy it! And Thank you :)
That's a beautiful ship.
That's a really good idea to have emergency holograms just in case someone gets injured
6:03 said from a position of good natured humour…but whilst the notions of symmetry of shape and design are valuable…anyone else see this shot as if half a ship is flying up against a mirror? 🤣
I think the interphasic cloack from Prometheus could resolve lots of issues like radiation and design, I mean, if you are phased out of this quantum reality altogether, radiation and whatever the shape the ship is are not a problem anymore…
And May the Force be with you too.
Wow this ship design is almost identical to two ships I designed 20 years ago
Nice design Leaning more towards the Enterprise J
More, yes!!!!!! Ship, like love the background info :) Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you very much for this nich Truth OR Myth BETA- The Hawking Class. For this nice Information like this ship very much
in my opinion, the Hawking class should be the new Enterprise, it looks fantastic and unique
I like it. Make it bigger and it's a candidate for the Enterprise 1701- I.
La línea de esta historia es fantástica ¡¡¡¡¡. Ojalá sigas creando más historias dentro de esta historia. Espero ver más ¡¡¡¡¡.
Good stuff! Maybe do a short fanfic story including this class with an away mission
I wonder if Q.S.D. will be the new Go Fast tech that they'll be showcasing for the U.S.S. Protostar in the upcoming series?
This ship is as a super clean design👍
I loved Voyager and we need a Trek show that TAKES PLACE AFTER VOYAGER!......... AGREE?
Romulans: That new Federation ship... it looks like a Hawk. That is our brand! We are gonna sue!
If Starfleet isn`t going to use one of the 12 ships made anymore, can i have it? You know, roll around space in, pick up some Orion, Andorian ladies. :)
possibly uss Protostar from ST: Prodigy is a transfer to the canon of this ship, only in a slightly reduced form
6:40 No cabins on the bow? No 10 Forward? Next thing you'll be telling us is that the bow of the ship was design and reinforced in case of another need to pull a Enterprise-E Maneuver. Hehe.
Great story and ship!!! Why only construct 12 ships? Seems like it would make the Federation even stronger enough to protect itself.
Because the Hawking class is a testbed used to develop and refine slipstream technology for other classes that are designed for more general misions, such as exploration or defense. The video said as much...
I love the story.
LOVE THAT SHIP! ! ! ! :-)
Goof job with that render & on answering the question "What did they do with all that info Voyager came back with?"
One of the most disappointing aspects of Voyager to me was the abrupt end, this satisfies my desire to know the consequences of all of Voyager's experiences suddenly dropped in Starfleet's lap. Good work and thank you.
QSD is fitted to Certain Star Fleet vessels in the novels.
Another great video!!!
so how do i get into starship design since i kinda have an idea for a dreadnought star cruiser with a massive double hangar deck and a odyssey style neck and four nacelle
Well there is no real gateway in to starship design, you just kind of do it! So if you have an idea, find a way to bring it to life!
great back story
Bring on the Hawking stories.
If there's ever a question of "Will my viewer like more Beta Canon videos?", the answer is always "Yes".
The NCC number is Dr. Hawking’s birthday
I would love te see your modern take on the universe class or uss altair
Love this and the class name
I think you would do quite well writing Trek based novels TriAngulum 👍. Maybe you could even do a full story using a similar format to this on your channel.
As for the ship I like the new Constitution you recently featured best but this is a close second. Eventually the ships are going to be alive and out evolve Humanity.
I really liked the Hawking class by the time you finished! Made me wish it was real..... REALLY BAD! :)
Will we see another episode on the uniforms of Lower Decks, Discovery Season 3 and Picard season 2
🤔It's actually really nice. I like it a lot. 🍻
Thanks 😁 Glad you like it :)
Stephen hawking was a huge star trek fan.
Great work love the skin.
I would love to see beta cannon on the dauntless nx-01a
Hopefully the computer sounded like Steven Hawking!😉
Like the video nice to see a reason for why a ship is the way it is in tos enterprise the warp core iss nestled back down between the neastles I hope I spelt that right or every traky will hate me 😂😂 to keep rads away from the crew which when the shape of the ship was explained years later it makes sense and even in a real world possiblity like wow
just a couple of thoughts....would like to see this ship in combat mode and how would it react with say borg enhancements such as voyagers ablative armor...thanks for looking at my posts
Where are you getting these amazing ideas for ST Stories…..
11 decks, I wonder how it'd do in a fight
A question I myself have been pondering ;)
Probably not bad just not an ultimate powerhouse since the class seems like a ship more focused on its drive than its weapon power
Please do the Achilles class from Star Trek: Dominon Wars.
Great job!
Man, Voyager was such a missed opportunity for new story lines.
You should write an alternative story line where they never made it home and forged a new "federation" that made contact like 2 centurys later. It could be an intresting dichotomy. Lots of new potential.
Any chance of a Truth or Myth on the Universe-Class?
I would like to see someone redo the nimitz class and bring it up todate i would do it myself but i dont have the software to do it
