not only the best guitarist not only the best composer not only the best writer but but but- THE BEST MUSICIAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD, IN THE PLANET, ONCE IN A LIFETIME ONE AND ONLY Tony Mackalpine
But, he is a JERK. He forgot where he came from Springfield Massachusetts USA Ambrose Street. What kind of guy would let his mothers house go to NATURE & not help her. All of us who grew up and went to school with him could care less about him just like he does about us.
how can he compose music like this? how tf can he memorize it?? how can he.... I play guitar for 30 yrs now but I'll never understand it.. and he's a beast on piano too? he must have been born with all that knowledge and skills..
One of the most melodic rock guitarists to ever walk the earth...yet so many never heard of him. A giant! He makes it seem so effortless. 2021 and still listening.
Tony Is next level people hear before Satriani , Vai and later Macalpine this for understand because do many 80's music Is similar but for understand Macalpine you must hear some songs from Satriani to Vai and later Tony and still can't stop listen Macalpine His music Is beyond Vai and Satriani limits Is Infinity and check Ring if fire , Planet x specially this band instrumental jazz metal with His 7 strings Is insane I'm still hear a Lot of planet x Is the next step from this style and he comeback with His solo stuff on 2011 6,7 and 8 strings guitar Ibanez still blown my mind now the Satriani and Vai music Is bored right now for me Macalpine 100 % much better Is like a Rainbow of styles you never get bored and also he plays some Chopin songs Tony Is 10/10 🙏
the expression of their faces say all about the pleasure they feel playing.... there are a lot of real good guitarits I really like, but Tony is the #1
The Lord has given Tony Mac Alpine a great deal of talent. I marvel at how God designed music. It is fitting to magnifiy the Giver of the talent, more than the executer of the talent. Without the God of the Bible none of us musicians have anything at all.
You know whats is hilarious is that no one was clapping after they played... probably since they were at MI and the the aspiring musicians were like a a deer in the headlights. Tony is legend...
Dude shows up in a flannel shirt and destroys !!! I supported Shrapnel Records as much as my menial income would allow back in the 80's. The Shrapnel artists are all still relevant man .
Best guitarist in the world I'm not smuck I'm a jazz professor so I seen alot of musicians none better its effort less planet x best instrumental band in world he's there guitar player for 80% of there music amazing band
Day by day I pray God reletns for his soul and let him stay with us many many years.. Please great master get well soon, the music needs you more than never...
Te amo maestro macalpine eres de los mas grandes guitarristas y que te mejores muy pronto de tu salud son mis deceos Dios el grande te bendiga y te permita seguir regalandonos tu geniales compociciones
What a talent, reminds me of Shawn Lane in so many ways. Obviously for his great warm tone (no shredders ice pick ear daggers) and for that KILLIN' piano playing.
Is he chewing gum? Reminds me of when I've seen Jimi do that. Love T-Mac and his awesome melodicism and composing skill. The band is excellent as well. Mike Terrana does an excellent job reproducing the awesome Steve Smith's part in Empire In the Sky!
Complete horse shit. It's a mental dillusion and at best a placebo effect. The only thing that cures cancer is medicine. Look how many stupid people have put all their trust in "Faith" healers and ended up dead of cancer.
99% of Scientists are not religious. Religion is a mental delusion that is spread to scare little children into obeying. LOL Oblivion? You seriously think an all powerful God would give a shit if you pray to him?
This live show brings me back to the early to mid 90's when I first listened to Tony MacAlpine a ton. I love his slow and medium legato playing almost better than the fast playing. However he is exceptional at both speeds. I love his newer fusion stuff too. Tony is a long time favorite along with Scott Henderson with Tribal Tech. I was supposed to see him play live near Seattle in the 90's, but he cancelled at the last minute.
The only thing you can say is that it is a shame that technology was only as good as the guy's cell phone that recorded this! Lol... Truly the most amazing time as a fan of Tony was during this period THANK GOD, and the great folks that produced such a killer show
Haha Scott Grady dude ! U must be quite young.. No cell Phone could've done even this job back then.. It was what us OLD TIMERS call a CAM-CORDER !! Nokia in "2002" had the first cell phone camera.. Not video capable.. We used to cook popcorn on the stove top in a pot too !! 8)) And actually, this audio surpasses most cell phone recording quality at a live concert to this day.. The video is grainy though.. Awesome to see it and hear it though.. Live stereo mix into a stereo Cam-Corder = Classic Thanks for the levity 8 ))
You guys need to listen to christian Muenster. He is the spiritual succesor of macalpine and jason becker. He is a beast. In some songs he does homages to macalpine and other guitarrists.
This is the first time I ever heard Tony play with backing tracks...definitely doesn't do enough keyboard playing. Would love to see him play the violin.

Well, at least -if you think so-, you could have written his name right XD

Let's put it straight and simple : Tony's a genius !!
10th degree grand master
But, he is a JERK. He forgot where he came from Springfield Massachusetts USA Ambrose Street. What kind of guy would let his mothers house go to NATURE & not help her. All of us who grew up and went to school with him could care less about him just like he does about us.

The amount of control! Is out of control!!
this man plays different than the other "shredders" of his era.Something like a mysterious feeling comes when i hear him...
Tony is the best 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Intelligent music. This man is genius!
how can he compose music like this? how tf can he memorize it?? how can he.... I play guitar for 30 yrs now but I'll never understand it.. and he's a beast on piano too? he must have been born with all that knowledge and skills..
Tony MacAlpine is the key to the future.

I totally agree. Tony MacAlpine is the best at writing melodies!
the expression of their faces say all about the pleasure they feel playing.... there are a lot of real good guitarits I really like, but Tony is the #1
The greatest musician in the world.
Yes I think so too.
That drummer is a beast!
Fucking great musician on the guitar. And great musician on keyboard and piano.
One of the most melodic shredders on the planet. I pray this musical genius enjoys a quick and complete recovery from his ordeal.
It took me 8 years of guitar playing and 10 years of heavy music listening to find this man. Holy hell I'm so happy
Sortly I discovered at the begining of my metal way, together to Vinnie Moore, Yngwie J.Malmsteen and David T.Chastain around 1986
The Lord has given Tony Mac Alpine a great deal of talent. I marvel at how God designed music. It is fitting to magnifiy the Giver of the talent, more than the executer of the talent. Without the God of the Bible none of us musicians have anything at all.
Excellent comment. Agreed 🙏
Amen
Watched this on early 144p apple QuickTime video. Still remember and feel how Sacred Wonder kicked into me!.
Since I was 5 years: Hail Tony Macalpine!
I saw Tony many times with this line up around LA in the 90's

Tony's not underrated.... Tony Is 4 the bunch of musicians lovers....
He writes the best melodies
Tony is one of the most talented musicians on the planet ! Get well soon , Mr MacAlpine !!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw him with Virgil Donati at a small club Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz CA there was hardly anyone there. It was Smoking!
I have seen Tony live playing his own stuff, with planet x and can as well. Planet x was the best one.
You know whats is hilarious is that no one was clapping after they played... probably since they were at MI and the the aspiring musicians were like a a deer in the headlights. Tony is legend...
Old classic, Macalpine 👌
Tony love you =)
Been listening to Tony since his first album. The guys phenomenal. Love everything he's done. Amazing. Great band.
The stamina he has, to play the whole show, maybe there were more breaks in the performance than the video but god damn
the audio quality and performance quality here is out of this world
Love Tony’s haunting, sad, beautiful melodies. Especially on sacred wonder. Holy cow.
One of my biggest influences since the 80's. Still is. The drummer is killing it.
Dude shows up in a flannel shirt and destroys !!! I supported Shrapnel Records as much as my menial income would allow back in the 80's. The Shrapnel artists are all still relevant man .
THE BEST ELECTRIC GUITAR CONCERT EVER (and in 40 years I have seen and heard many)

Tony touring in 2018 !!! GLORIOUS !!!
What a great musician. I had no idea that he could play the piano like that. Fantastic
Just go to his biography. There you see that he is classical educated and could play a piano before he even touched a guitar.
What a talent, reminds me of Shawn Lane in so many ways. Obviously for his great warm tone (no shredders ice pick ear daggers) and for that KILLIN' piano playing.
a lot like dave sancious
Trevor Rabin too
awesome, what a great tone he has , amazing player
Mike terrana great
Every song off his first album is great. 8:07 - I love empire in the sky. It almost reminds me of a video game, a mega man level or something.
do you know what the song right before empire in the sky is? :)
that was a priceless show
that amazing combination tony and myke !!!
Just fabulous ! Incredible talent.

Tony is now battling intestinal cancer please pray for him.
Wha'ts praying going to do? It's all about medical treatment
When did the church ever cure cancer? If praying worked then children would not die of illness
