    It’s so concerning to see how the area is suffering a drought. Severe change in the water levels is worrisome. Different areas of our country are suffering the extremes in weather. I sincerely hope you continue to take care of yourself and Miss April. We love what you share with us, but, we all share the same wish and that is for you to stay safe.

    • @annotten7413
      @annotten7413 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The water levels will come back up eventually- we had many damms and lakes in Texas that where low for over 10 years and when I say low I mean extremely low. It it only took a few years of heavy rains to fill them back up to normal levels. Every place just go through cycles. It’s been going on since the beginning of time

    • @fixitallpaul4847
      @fixitallpaul4847 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not due to drought. The water levels are always dropped in the fall.

    • @lodigoreau881
      @lodigoreau881 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a hydro electric dam so they can let water out whenever they have a demand for energy. They do always drop it in the fall so the ice doesn't become a problem tho. It def was a drought 2 years ago but it doesn't really effect the dams cause they control the water levels

    That little dog sure gets a good work out. It seems like her little short legs would have to work really hard to keep up with Post. How much you want to bet that about five seconds after they get back home she is out like a light and doesn't wake up till the next morning. Sometimes I get tired just watching him and I can't even imagine trying to keep up with all the hiking he does when he is out exploring. Of course I'm 247 years old so that could have something to do with how exhausted I get watching a young whippersnapper go tromping around the countryside!

    I live about 30 mins from moore about two weeks after you recorded this my brother had the bright idea of driving his jeep of the boat launch on the smaller side of the resivour on the other side of the culvert he got it stuck right away. I came out to rescue him in my truck and sure enough got that stuck. Then a guy in a Toyota Tundra tried to help get us unstuck and he got him self stuck. we ended up using three tow straps chained together two a truck on the dry part and finially got unstuck. The drought was crazy never seen it that low

    It was only a few months ago here in Australia that a lot of our dams were real low, some down to 10% capacity. Sad to see, but was also interesting to see the foundations of farm buildings etc that were flooded over when the areas were dammed. Now most of our dams are at capacity and some over-flowing, hopefully the same happens over there soon

    You know, having watched a bunch of abandoned mine exploration vids it occurs to me that with such a solid echo you can tell that the soil/ground around that pipe is solid and in stable contact with it. Otherwise, like in sections of mines with softer and less stable rock and soil your voice gets muffled in a strange way, it doesn't echo and barely carries. I think you're spot on that that culvert is in good condition, and they check/maintain it 👍

    You say severe drought. I say it looks like another day in Texas. Reservoirs there go through wild fluctuations between flood stage and drought stage where the water level may be 20 ft above normal or 20 ft below normal. It's always fascinating to see the lake beds when they are low.
