The nerf was completely undeserved. Every killer is slugging in my matches now. The buff helped to counter this, not anymore. You're the exception, not the rule. A combined 40,000 hour survivor team getting insane value out of a perk should not determine the balance teams decisions.
Still, if used by an SWF with designated builds who knows what they're doing, they can essentialy prevent the killer entirely from ever being able to pick up survivors by going down on pallets. Endurance should be 5 seconds max or be entirely removed.
@@seer5600i get the swf argument but I would say the majority of survs are not playing swf. So nerfing a perk because a group of coordinated friends could abuse it is a bit unfair for that majority. An understandable but unfortunate nerf.

I only recently found out that Anti-Hem Syringe actually works with WGLF, so if they pick up a surv on the ground using Anti-Hem, they get Endurance. I experienced this 1st hand as a Billy and could've had a 4k but ended with a 2k solely for that.
editing is good but id appreciate if skipping forward during chases was avoided if possible. its disorientating and makes it hard to follow what is happening.
And people still don't run them. Killer side will still be a meta of gen regression / slowdown, and survivor will be a meta of 2nd chance. Over 200 perks on both sides and it is always the same dozen or so. Stale as 5 year old bread.
@@CaptToiletthe only required survivor second chance perk would be unbreakable simply because slugging is so common, the other perks are based on your play style. For killer, it’s different and it’s important to have a few regression perks to slow the game down.

And when I plot twisted what did he do? Hmm, I wonder.. Proxy camped all 140 seconds with like 4 pods aimed all around me. From exactly 17 meters away so I didn't get a single shred of anticamp. (Needs changed to apply if killer within 32 meters, and if they stay within 20m with no other survs nearby, hook timer doesn't go down. Still wouldn't even fix proxy camping huntress' really)

@@ryno8781 it's a deep rooted game design issue and it's not that easy to fix imo. it's not just slugging -- even hooks as a concept isn't good for a pvp game because it forces a player (or multiple..) to be unable to play the game for MINUTES in a match. the biggest problem with survivor gameplay is that there's too much downtime of doing little to nothing -- either gens or being slugged or being hooked. it's genuinely a miracle that dbd is as successful as it is with such a gameplay loop
I think infectious fright is supposed to be more anti-save than pro-slugging. The radius is probably the worst part, I think it should be a fixed radius and should be smaller because as it is it definitely encourages slugging. Knockout tho if you wanted that to not encourage slugging you’d need to like completely rework it

I got to see the Billy and Doctor games live and it was WILD. I highly recommend checking out the VOD for those games. The Billy game especially might be the "rudest" (in a playful non toxic way) thing I have seen. Its 100% worth watching the full game.
I was using this even before the buff, it was still viable when you had to activate it (unhook, or take a protective hit, or heal someone). Now it’s just better. Plus both before and now, if you have deadhard active and you time it right, if the killer goes for you, you can then also take a hit. It requires more perk slots but honestly the whole thing is still super nutty and I love it!
You can still do it ALSO most of the time stronger with a few stacks of autodidact over botany or empathetic. Then swap the one you don't change out for a useful perk outside of doing this and you're cooking OR maybe soul guard, unbreakable, exponential, power struggle or solidarity in that last slot to lean in more.

It’s not as good as shown in the video, this was the product of a combined 40k hours and infinite knowledge of the game. The average player is not pulling this off more than once and even if you could, the killers in most mmrs except newbies will just leave and kill the only person doing gens, therefor making it impossible for survs to win as they’d need to seperate and do gens with 0 anti-tunnel

Hi Otz! I enjoy all of your videos, but I'm finding this new style of editing a bit distracting, if that makes sense. The older, more streamlined/"professional" style gave the channel a bit more of an unique identity IMO. A lot of the effects in the intro to the video are just a lot to look at for me. Not sure if this is going to be the new style going forwards, but I hope a few adjustments can be made to make things easier to follow haha.
i honestly love playing killer when stuff like this is going on because it ALWAYS devolves into a big hit-fest with the swfs playing aggressive as hell and either getting snowballed or just completely demolishing me, but either way, it's never boring 😂
I think all these anti-slug perks and MFT are fine. Buckle Up was a problem because it gave both survivors endurance for just 1 perk slot, just like Borrowed Time way back in the day. Usually survivors who do these shenanigans end up dying in the end anyway.

@@Th3_Traitor so basically the old wglf + ftp but you have to rely on them hitting the slugged guy since mft only activates while injured. The reason why people thought ftp + buckle up was op was because the only real counter was to either hit the survivor picking up or waiting out the endurance during which basically anything could happen, while it was just two perks. Now to get the same effect you have to get a styptic medkit as well for one use. Im not saying its a bad build, its good and fills the niche well, but outside of a dedicated anti slug build, wglf is borderline useless to me and yes i tried to make it work in a hybrid heal/anti-slug build before the respective update for both buff and nerf. It just ain't that good on its own compared to lets say ftp or mft alone since both are useful for anti slug and just general gameplay, especially after they nerfed back the heal speed. Actually this gives me a very funny build idea for the future relating to ftp but anyway

This punishes slugging, it's like DS, if you tunnel, you're eating that, if you want to avoid it so bad, don't tunnel, but if you slug the person with the DS to avoid it, you deserve to get WGLF'd too. Slugging has been happening a LOT more since they added the finishing Mori too, this buff was definitely necessary, it's unfortunate they revert it already, because I fear slugging is only going to get worse.

4:00 I think they tried to go for the locker you were in but it made'em check the other locker instead, I had taht happen to me a few times where I was standing INFRONT of the locker and it made me check the one next to it. (I'm aware the huntress isn't even in front but I'm accounting for latency and what not)
WGLF has made my matches awful. If they go down under a pallet or in the open, you can’t pick them up for fear of a pallet stun or flashbang or flashlight. So you scout the area, find survivors, then they heal in your face and use WGLF + Buckle Up to get out with zero consequences. It’s an unwinnable scenario.
i like how the huntress game does nothing but show that slugging is still totally possible with this cuz she had everyone on the ground multiple times and the last person injured. Exponential is the only reason things worked out even, which has nothing to do with WGLF or MFT. the cooldown makes it so you just have to slug harder, and its extremely easy. even highly coordinated survivors, some of the best players, still got slugged many times while using this... The nerf was what was unnecessary, the buff was fine. They still need to just actually fix slugging seperately from perks though.
Not only that but it also looked like to me that the huntress started slugging because of how the survivors were playing. The second match was a much better example as to how powerful the effect is with the fengs double healing right on killer and both fengs making it out unscathed.
You can't "fix" slugging, either it's available or it isn't. Especially since like tunneling, everyone in this stupid ass entitled fucking community has a different definition for slugging.

If yall wanted to know, ftp works with WGLF so you can essentially have old ftp buckle up, just gotta be more careful as you dont got endurance

Hi Otz! I enjoy all of your videos, but I'm finding this new style of editing a bit distracting, if that makes sense. The older, more streamlined/"professional" style gave the channel a bit more of an unique identity IMO. A lot of the effects in the intro to the video are just a lot to look at for me. Not sure if this is going to be the new style going forwards, but I hope a few adjustments can be made to make things easier to follow haha.

I think all these anti-slug perks and MFT are fine. Buckle Up was a problem because it gave both survivors endurance for just 1 perk slot, just like Borrowed Time way back in the day. Usually survivors who do these shenanigans end up dying in the end anyway.

@@Th3_Traitor so basically the old wglf + ftp but you have to rely on them hitting the slugged guy since mft only activates while injured.
The reason why people thought ftp + buckle up was op was because the only real counter was to either hit the survivor picking up or waiting out the endurance during which basically anything could happen, while it was just two perks. Now to get the same effect you have to get a styptic medkit as well for one use.
Im not saying its a bad build, its good and fills the niche well, but outside of a dedicated anti slug build, wglf is borderline useless to me and yes i tried to make it work in a hybrid heal/anti-slug build before the respective update for both buff and nerf. It just ain't that good on its own compared to lets say ftp or mft alone since both are useful for anti slug and just general gameplay, especially after they nerfed back the heal speed.
Actually this gives me a very funny build idea for the future relating to ftp but anyway

It’s a buff that is supposed to counter slugging but all it does is encourage it more, and counter killers just playing normally.
@GoldenDeer_ Every match, especially high mmr and since the endgame mori change, 99% of the killers slug for their precious 4k, even at 5 gens left. It was a necessary buff. But enough baby killers cried yet again to nerf a surv perk cause god forbid something counters them for once 😊
@@GoldenDeer_Just don't slug then?? This punishes slugging, it's like DS, if you tunnel, you're eating that, if you want to avoid it so bad, don't tunnel, but if you slug the person with the DS to avoid it, you deserve to get WGLF'd too.
Slugging has been happening a LOT more since they added the finishing Mori too, this buff was definitely necessary, it's unfortunate they revert it already, because I fear slugging is only going to get worse.

@@KyIieB imagine being this hypcritical when survivors bitching and whining because they were bad at the game got multiple killers nerfed. Not stupid perks, actual kill powers. The entitlement is insane. Idc if a perk counters slugging. The problem with it, as Otz has shown multiple times, is that they over buffed an anti-slugging perk to the point where it also can function as an anti hooking perk, because you either get pallet saved or recover enough where the person can pick you up and give both of you endurance.

WGLF has made my matches awful. If they go down under a pallet or in the open, you can’t pick them up for fear of a pallet stun or flashbang or flashlight. So you scout the area, find survivors, then they heal in your face and use WGLF + Buckle Up to get out with zero consequences. It’s an unwinnable scenario.

i like how the huntress game does nothing but show that slugging is still totally possible with this cuz she had everyone on the ground multiple times and the last person injured. Exponential is the only reason things worked out even, which has nothing to do with WGLF or MFT.
the cooldown makes it so you just have to slug harder, and its extremely easy. even highly coordinated survivors, some of the best players, still got slugged many times while using this... The nerf was what was unnecessary, the buff was fine.
They still need to just actually fix slugging seperately from perks though.
This is why I think WGLF is fair, even with MFT. Slugging is so common now
Not only that but it also looked like to me that the huntress started slugging because of how the survivors were playing. The second match was a much better example as to how powerful the effect is with the fengs double healing right on killer and both fengs making it out unscathed.
You can't "fix" slugging, either it's available or it isn't. Especially since like tunneling, everyone in this stupid ass entitled fucking community has a different definition for slugging.
