Depending on the area of study, sometimes you don't have a choice. My grad school (USM) was by mixed mode, which meant I had to do both coursework and a research thesis.... and that's a happy coincidence because it turned out to be beneficial to me in ways I never imagined when I started out. Coursework allowed me to have classmates, which was something I really enjoyed after working 20 years in my industry. Their comradeship also afforded me a support structure when I started to work on my research thesis. And being required to conduct research for my thesis, as it turned out, gave me the confidence to even dream of continuing on to the postgraduate level. Having learned that lesson, now I have opted to do my DBA part-time which also requires me to complete 2 years of coursework. Again, I still get to have classmates even at the doctoral level...!! And I know I'm definitely going to need this support structure when I start my doctorate dissertation... My father & wife did their PhDs by research, and they both warned me that loneliness can be a real killer at the postgraduate level. I tend to disagree with the assumption that conducting research at grad school level is irrelevant if you want to climb the corporate ladder. As a Dept Director at work, I can tell you that understanding research methodology and data analysis can be extremely helpful when you need to make strategic decisions.
Waslm. Thank you for asking Sir. Fyi, Masters by Coursework is just like our Degree Journey. You'll have classes, assignments, quizzes, tests & semester examination. But additional is, you must publish at least 1 paper in index journal as a requirement to graduate (depend on the university). Hopefully I answered your favour. Any other questions, feel free to request :)
