- What began as a 1987 thriller film has now expanded into a film franchise, video games, comics, and even novels. The Predator franchise boasts a wide variety of alien species, with its main focus on the titular hunting species, the Yautjas. The Yautjas or Predators are apex hunters hailing from the planet of Yautja Prime, situated in the far reaches of the galaxy. Their purpose in life is to hunt, and their motto is ‘the deadlier the prey, the greater the honor’. These hunters are not interested in sickly or easy prey. They look for battle-hardened warriors from different species or other deadly predatory species to hunt and collect their heads and spines as trophies. Even though they seem single-minded, there is more than enough variation within this species to warrant further examination.

Clearly stated in the movie he's mixed with human DNA as a lab creation. Therefore, I assumed he had human tendencies or feelings so wanted to help us. But we tried to kill him so makes sense why he lashed out in bloodshed.

Van damme suit was the original also one of the reason he quit . also his ego of not being seen (him in suit ) . then It got redesigned and ended up with the incrediblely awesome yautja (predator 1)we seen now . Van damme design was re-used in the lore The Amengi .

Predators will always have a standard to live up to because there is so much lore and so many good sources to draw from.
Predator 2 was such a fun movie. I thought it was about as good as the original movie was, and really felt like the perfect sequel we all wanted.

There was a 90's line of Aliens vs Predator toys before the movies ever came out that featured several different types of Xenomorphs and Yautjas. My brother collected some of the xenomorphs while I collected some of the yautjas. There was a few I remember right off, such as the Tusk Warrior, a predator that ended up growing tusks on the side of its face.

The ideal hunters in my personal opinion that I feel would instantly reign amongst the most superior would be Wolf, Jungle Hunter and Scar, in that particular order. If Wolf ever had the opportunity to be the leaders of Jungle Hunter and Scar, the trio would be an unstoppable force, just for the fact Wolf was an elite who had the accolades under his belt to back it up quite literally. Jungle Hunter was already a skilled and powerful hunter in his own right, so I feel he definitely would’ve picked up on some of Wolfs more advanced methods and quickly climb up the skill ladder to an elite himself. Then ofcourse young Scar would have been definitely blessed to have 2 powerhouse instructors to show him how its done, as he already had the guts and skill but lacked direction and focus imo. And plus, what makes them the strongest and most ideal team that never was is their strict honor the Yautja code. These 3 would undoubtedly have been a force to be reckon with, succeeding hunt after hunt!

I would have enjoyed this more if it was ordered differently. You switch between different kinds and then go back to the same one. You should have started with the origin stories, then the young ones training, then the trials, and so on going up the ranks to the strongest, then after the king, going to the non typical like bad bloods and exiled.
Think this is a splice of different vids or poorly edited.
Reminds me of this lovecraftian creatures video I saw, where they do keep going back and forth between Great Old Ones and Outer Gods, before even describing what either of those are mind you. Just no organization to any of it.

We saw something similar to a Predator Council was at the end of Predator 2 the Predators that Danny Glover's character encountered inside the Predator Ship underneath the city of Los Angeles and the leader gave him an old gun from 1715 before the creatures left in spectacular fashion.

And that old gun easter egg was paid off in this new awesome Predator prequel Prey. Which I think is the best Predator franchise movie ever made so far. Even better than the original, IMO that is. Others might let their nostalgia factor get the best of them, but not me. If something is better, it's better, period.

Jungle/City Hunter: Alligators
Super Preds: Crocodiles
Feral Pred: Gharials
All gators, but different visually. All Preds can be placed in these 3 categories.

I love your idea! I have the perfect plot. We find out the predators society has a military that only has elders. Old badass predators, and they've been fighting with engineers and both experiment with xenomorph technology. It'd be great.

im so obsessed with the idea of an open galaxy predator game like no mans sky where you can fly around to different planets and hunt shit. But have an actual story underpinning it. With slight rpg elements to craft and upgrade different weapons and armor stylings. I just think concrete jungle was too ahead for its time and studios gave up on trying to make a pred game that isnt about deathmatch multiplyer shit. This character has so much potential it just needs the right focus. I'm so itchy for the right predator experience to play.
You said everything I've thought about lol a 3rd person type of Nomans sky infused game would be awesome. Close quarter, mid range, or longe range hunting styles. So many different clans to choose from it would be awesome.
There needs to be a Predator movie set on Yautja Prime and is focused on the Yautja.

I actually liked Predator 2. It has some compelling characters and a good ending. And, of course, there’s the iconic dialogue of King Willy “You can’t see the eyes of the deeeeemon.. until him come calling”

2:39 is the Yautja known as Prince is from Alien Vs. Predator 2 (2001) while the Yautja we play as in Alien Vs. Predator (2010) is known as Dark, he is the one who claims Lord's mask in the campaign, Lord also happens to be Dark's ancestor.
11:00 that's the suit that Jean Claude Van Damme wore when he played the Predator before they had to admit that it wasn't working. Then they replaced Van Damme with the big guy and the rest is history.

Did you know that there’s military Predators? They’re called the Hydra, and the Blazer, they’re in AVP Extinction.
Some of this information is wrong. You said, in the 1987 film Predator that the fight the Predator had with Dutch led to the Predators realizing humans are a good hunt, and so then the Predator came (in predators 2) to Los Angeles to partake. But that is not true, that is not when Predators realized humans are good hunts. You learn multiple times through subtle hints that the Predators have been hunting humans for a very very long time. Even one simple scene being when the Predator gives Michael Harrigan the pistol at the end of Predators 2, it was a trophy that Predator himself collected from a fight with a human, and the pistol itself says 1715 on it. And in the movie Predators from 2010, they say it has been going on for a very very long time.

NECA is pronounced "neck-uh" not spelled out. 😉 You barely scratched the surface on all of the unique toy based Predators. My favorites were the Cracked Tusk Predator, an elder who was large and had tusk like protrusions coming from below his jaw (though I think modern versions removed the tusks from his design), and Spiked Tail Predator a Bad Blood that had a long braid with a spike ball at the end.

10:55 the Emenge is pretty much what Van Damme was supposed to play in the 1st Predator film before the studio came in and made them change the antagonist into the Yautja.

Yes, Predator 2 is a fantastic movie. Same as Conan the Destroyer. As soon as you understand he, and Bombartaa are Mighty men of Old, Men of Renoun, Living in the antediluvian age, the movie makes sense.

I think it was retconned that Predators were a highly advanced and progressive species, who got into several fights with the Engineers. The Engineers infected their planets with the black goo and they somewhat overcame it becoming the current day Predators instead of mindless beasts.
There’s so much material for several TV series. If well done, there’s a limitless audience as well. But making something well isn’t the Hollywood way any more

Predator has always been a huge fav for me due to the honour code and design of the Yuatja being so badass.
As for fans being "nothing less than thrilled" for the Predalien ...I'm a fan and unfortunately AVP2 for me was the worst of the franchise .
The Predalien looked cool if you could ever see it through the complete darkness and choppy fight scenes of the film. Real shame as I loved the design.🤘😉🙏
AvP2 the film (still don’t know why they didn’t just copy the comics/novels. Those were incredible) is still FAR better than The Predator.
That movie was not only a bad Predator film, but also just a terrible movie.
Also, they had NO respect for canon, and the plot was so fricken poor. At times, contradicting itself.
Prince was bad ass. His plasma weapon fired multiple purple coloured plasma bolts that honed in on his enemies, it was dubbed 'purple rain'.
His ship the 'red corvette' was awesome.

Dutch's unit weren't mercenaries, they were an elite Special Operations Combat Search and Rescue team (CSAR). They were still part of the US Military, not a private military company.

If you haven't watched The (latest) movie called *PREY* yet then i recomend 10\10 you should. I don't wanna spoil toO much but just so you know the the movie might feel a Lil bit slow in the beginning but trust me the actions won't disappoint.
Lastly i agree... non of the sequel comes close to the OG predator movie they sucks A$$ but give this one ( _Prey_ ) a watch... The way predator utilizes his weapons and equipments to kill is *SATISFYING* henceforth restoring my faith in its sequels... Anyhuuu Gudnyt, Stay safe 🙂✌️
Prey was awesome. I'm happy with the fact we now have 3 different races of predator on screen, and that they apparently said that each of them are just from a different region of the homeworld. Pretty cool stuff

The AMENGI is actually what the original JUNGLE HUNTER Predator looked like before Stan Winston remodeled it and Kevin Peter Hall replaced Jean-Claude Van Damme as the Predator.
