All American whiskeys are required to be made in new charred oak barrels. They do make nice barrels though and after used for US whiskey they're sold to other countries to age their alcohol.

So I am just trying to find any and all products made completely made in America. this is true, by legal requirement, for all bourbons and tennessee whiskeys. The barrels are american white oak, and most scotches also use the bourbon barrels for aging after the American distillers have used them.

I had the pleasure years ago of touring the Jack Daniels distillery years ago. The tour guides were very nice & informative. We could buy all sorts of Jack glasses, etc, but no whiskey. Very interesting.
I'd get fired the first day if I worked there...
@Kardos András Yes. 1L of free whiskey each month. Source: I used to work there.
@@adriantroickic8477 During my tour, the lady said the employee gets to pick!!!
Shut up boomer
You get paid wicked high so maybe not
I love that it's REAL people behind this process. Real genuine people.
All American whiskeys are required to be made in new charred oak barrels. They do make nice barrels though and after used for US whiskey they're sold to other countries to age their alcohol.
Player Review yourthinking of bourbon, there is less requirements for just whiskey in the states
Joseph Freemanm bourbon is not charred in barrells so you are incorrect
gerishom majanja bourbon can be in barrels up to a char level 3
Appletons Jamaican Rum springs to mind , having seen it there , the mellowing and ageing sheds are SOOOO full of old JD barrels !
Player Review also sold to hardware stores to use in landscaping and such, a small store i worked for bought semi truck load from them each spring and would sell out every year. boy on a hot day they sure smelled good!
I'm gonna be honest, that classic American whiskey is done right and I'm very impressed 👊👍😀😎
Jack Daniel's is my theme alcoholic drink. I will always have a bottle in home.
Jack and coke the best thing ever
@@RobRamirez456 that’s disgusting really
@@RobRamirez456 no coke dude..try it as it is...
@@fathermarcus7808 I mean it’s good by itself but with coke it hits different

Dirk Diggler I see you are fluent in American
0:39 I think that guy gave me and my family a tour of the distillery when we were there

#1 drink. hope it never changes
Thank you Jack Daniels Old No7 Tennessee whiskey got me drinking in heaven, up here the bottle never runs dry and you don't wake up with those tears in your eye 🎶🎶😁
This was awesome, my favourite drink and seeing how it's made and the work that goes into it makes me feel good when I have a glass of it cheers J.D.
So I am just trying to find any and all products made completely made in America. Even though i don't drink, Jack Daniel's is completely made in Lynchburg, Tn. except for the barrels made in Kentucky. I live about 15 to 20 minutes from the distillery and can say this is one product made completely in the USA...for what it's worth.
Great endorsement, Sheila!
this is true, by legal requirement, for all bourbons and tennessee whiskeys. The barrels are american white oak, and most scotches also use the bourbon barrels for aging after the American distillers have used them.
Man Friday's Jack daniel glaze is the main reason why I love Jack so much!
Whatever your drink of choice may be, making it is an artform.
Gett'in ready to crack a bottle open now. Cheers!
I bought a 3 liter just for myself. Cheers!
Today is my 74th Birthday! I'm watching this JD video with a triple shot of Jack Daniels in a glass that has a large picture of Mr. Daniels himself on the front. Great stuff JD; my favorite brand.
So much hate for Jack Daniels yet they watch a video about Jack Daniels to complain about Jack Daniels. ? Makes real sense I guess.
We are curious if they show where they add the petrolium based taste
Sniuchi how do you know what petroleum taste like? Or is it just the smell of petroleum kinda taste.
Grim Reaper did you ever needed to take out gas from another car using a plastic hose?
Sniuchi not yet, but maybe in the future I will.
they arent hurting or supporting jack daniels by making a comment, thats why there is a comment section genius, jack daniels is fucking swine trash if you actually enjoy it you are tasteless trash
I would pay crazy money to hear the water management guy read audiobooks :D

Nothing Like Watching A Jack Daniels Whiskey Documentary And Drinking Jack Daniels Whiskey 🥃
you are so lucky..... enjoy
libya misrata my friend I should grab an extra glass 👌
Nathan “Nearest” Green is THE creator of Tennessee Whiskey!!
He invented the Lincoln County Process in which Jack Daniels whiskey is distilled in! Nathan Green literally taught and gave Jack Daniels everything he know about whiskey making.
That Uncle Nearest Whiskey is pretty good and you need to purchase a bottle
I've always thought that the old no. 7 , has a very thick Carmel & vanilla flavor with a smokey finish to it , and without a doubt is my favorite whiskey and will always be my favorite it's that thick Carmel & vanilla flavor combined with the smokey finish , taste that has me hooked
Watching this with a bottle of JD in my hands
First time trying Jack Daniels tonight, and really loving the amazing taste. Thank you for the in depth detail. Nice to know how its done. Makes enjoying more interactive knowing what the flavors are. Keep it going love it. Karen Gordon's Bay South Africa
I recommend to anyone planning a trip to Lynchburg to stop at the cemetery first and pay your respects to JD himself. They installed 2 chairs in front of his grave so you can have a drink with him.
Jack was a confirmed bachelor but had quite a few lady friends. The chairs were put there for his ladies to come by and mourn his passing.

The best.
This comment just made my day.

This is so cool. When I was younger this was my go to drink in a bar. I think I should get a bottle and relive some of the old days. Great video.

I love that feller in the Overalls!
So it's basically moonshine till you put it in the bungholed barrels.
That gives it it's color and flavor. I love the stuff myself.
As someone who doesnt drink, I never knew that JD you would buy off the shelf was likely made half a decade ago.
at last one who lives in the pure state of sobriety!
I drink frequently, but there is no way I could ever drink every day. The shitty feeling and the dehydration sucks.
