I hope you found a work in the trades. I'm at an aircraft engine shop and every time I pass by the engineering department it looks like this scene lmao.
There is also a cut at 0:26 . The dolly move is used to splice the two shots using the pillar to hide the edit. In all 3 shot, the same portion of the one set is used. At the start, the back wall is covered with cabinets. It pulls back across the set then into the dolly where the footage is flipped to make it seem like the opposite side of the room. Then at 0:30 it's back to the same orientation as the first shot but they have replaced the back cabinets with the glass office wall to make it seem like yet another part of a larger room
Love this movie. Recently saw an old Alaska Airlines commercial which reminded me of this scene: th-cam.com/video/f44h_rfOiWQ/w-d-xo.html Wondering if it came before the movie/inspired Gilliam, or vice versa? Does anyone know when this commercial aired?
A criminally underappreciated masterpiece. Also how many Hollywood movie trailers have used this amazing soundtrack, at least 3 that i can think off.
BJM and Wall-E but what else?
@@SirNiqqqea Matchstick Men
Bee Movie is actually another one that a trailer used this music
Also Nim's Island.
@@garethcarraway04 also being john malcovich
I loved that Pixar used this music for the Wall E teaser. That’s where I first heard it.
I didn't notice that, thanks!
Same bro
Me too! I was 8 when I saw that trailer.
No musical piece has ever embodied being "industrious" as well as this
when a box transforms into a trash compacting robot
For anyone who has worked in public service, in a bureaucracy, this has a lot of truth!
Absolutely spot on , I worked for the DHSS and this is spot on😂
This is spot on for big insurance offices
At least in this wonderful dystopia everybody dress and look sharp...
I remember tripping balls and watching this for the first time and thinking this scene was great cinematography
Wall-E!
I sometimes hum this tune to myself when I need to work and focus.
This is how we act when the boss comes around
Scenes like this serve as a reminder of why I want to go into the trades & avoid office work like the *_PLAGUE,_* if I can.

@Sphynra I'm hoping to break into HVAC. I've been in school for it for the past year, & as I write, I'll hopefully graduate next May.
Mr. Lowery...

Watching from Bogor ,Indonesia ,this movie seems like Bogor 1925,I love Bogor
We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us
This isn't a continuous shot. There is a very clear cut at 0:30 .
You won't dispute it's incredible though?
Certainly not. It's an awesome piece of camera work.
