That’s my aunt Celia! (2:27). There is a wonderful bio about her that came out in 2011 by Carol Bishop Gwyn “The Pursuit of Perfection”. She was my father’s cousin. We were lucky to see the performances she choreographed in the 60’s in Windsor and Toronto.
Wowwwww you brought so many memories...I was just getting into canada and my first audition was for Les Grands and the ballet de Montreal Eddy Toussaint, and then I went to NY to audition for Alberta ballet and there it was THE NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA and I audition for them and got and apprenticeship...young and silly I preferred Alberta because it was paying more...lol afterwards I got into the NBC but what would have happened if I had taken that apprenticeship? I'll never know...I thank God though for everything in my career in Canada....thank you for posting it...I had this special on video hahahahaha but I got bad....actually I saw myself in class in bits and pieces and many people I know Wowwwwww you mad my evening and week xoxo
Is that a very young Neve Campbell at the front of the barre when Ms Chadwick says, "I don't want any crab or lobster hands"? Can't thank you enough for posting this. I miss those old studios and rehearsal halls.
Wow. Incredible documentary. I grew up in dance in Canada. This is a gem.

You may be right! She would have been ten at the time.
@@volcanohunter Yes, that was Neve at the front of the barre. I was there at the same time she was and when this film was made. :)
40:30 Susie!!!
So Nureyev was Erik Bruhn's "old chum"? LOL Nice documentary though. It covers all the elements that make it happen.
Who was the accompanist, do you know?
Robert Swerdlow. Incredible accompanist. One of my all-time favourites!
