It was a nice interview; I'm glad that they got along so well; it could have been awkward. I saw them in Romeo & Juliet once, and they suited each other very well. She didn't have the extension that modern ballerinas have; but she was a wonderful actress, an attractive woman, and had great warmth/audience connection. I think too there was great intelligence; she speaks very well in this interview, and seems very self-aware/practical/nice. Nureyev also comes across well, not overly impressed with himself, and an artist. Of course, they gave ballet a great lift with their partnership and star appeal! The time I saw them, the audience went absolutely wild; it was astonishing, but deserved.

Also, London had fairly recently seen a Bolshoi tour starring Galina Ulanova (who was 9 years older than Fonteyn) be partnered by Nikolay Fadeyechev (who was 23 years younger).
All I see, particulary, after this interviews with them, is that they both enjoyed their relations Look at their happy faces! By their own admission, they became "one soul and one body". that astounded an audience, making them to rapture with genuine emotions. This phenomena made this inimitable duet the most admired and beloved in ballet history! Had Margo have this "gymnastic" legs extension, her perfomance in Giselle, I think, wouldn't be so magical! It looked to me, like a unearthly delusion, where dancers "soared" above the stage, with a perfect spiritual and artistic unison. They, probably could've been together in real life, but the noble Dame Margo Fonteyn couldn't leave her paralyzed husband. By the way, he's been shot by his lover's jealous husband and poor Margo had to take of him for rest of his life, living in the farm with him.
Even though Rudolf was mostly gay, I think he loved Margot deeper than the blue sea and if it hadn't been for Tito's accident, they would have also had an offstage love relationship. They definitely did on stage. Beautiful together ❤

i didnt know the legendry second ballerina went out with a fellow performer i hear the british love her especially chalmers who calls her 'le grande dame' but the bolshoi will not entertain her and neither will most of europe i think its sad especially when she was told she would never dance again either to sickness or age its so sad shes dead we will never hear her footsteps again
I saw him dance in Pasadena, California, during one of his last performances. It was a dance concert dedicated to the memory of Isadora Duncan. I believe he passed away a year or two later.

I also remember these two obnoxious women sitting right behind me with a young daughter of one of them who were constantly and rather loudly making disapproving comments about Seymour. They were so obnoxious that at one point I took my chair and went and sat somewhere else (somehow we were sitting on independent chairs, they were not row seats fixed to the ground. Don’t ask me why!)
